What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

It was a dark and stormy morning. Lightning flashed across the sky, aiming for the window. On the sofa, the KittenCat woke up from her postprandial catnap and stared, eyes wide, ears pricked to the rumble of the thunder.
On the nightstand, the BG meter, finished with its work for the day, snuggled more securely into its case and smiled a digital smile. "One-seventeen," it muttered sleepily to the lancet lying beside it. "Wonder how that translates?"
"Six-point-five," came a drowsy reply from the sofa-armtop in the living room.
The KittenCat laid her head back down and closed her eyes.
The window stood firm against the lightning and rain.
Outside the thunder grumbled and retreated back into the clouds.
When is the novel coming out? The trailer is very moreish

Thank goodness! That reminded me of a really bad storm in 1989 when I worked on the 12th floor of a block by the Thames. The window blew out behind me and piles of documents on the ledge started to fly out. We had a very slight office junior who ran over to stop them and there just wasnt time to ask politely so I rugby tackled her to the ground in case she joined the flying paper.

Ive lost 3-1/2stone since diagnosis 2 years ago the weight just fell off without trying now struggle to put it on

Mine was a mix of things...Forxiga was a culprit (initially i was glad it was doing it but it turned nasty in so many ways)... my diet changes.... and increased work out which even led to injury ... now my weight is stable... I would like to get some muscle back though... and that is proving difficult

How sweet , we love our cats , but I actually am so tired of mine waking me up earlier and earlier as the sun raises earlier and earlier, so now I have decided that my lovely cat must have its meal-party just right before I go to sleep in hope of a lazy morning cat might sleep a bit longer View attachment 33482

My number is 7.2 this morning due to pizza yesterday evening

What a lovely cat! ^. .^

Oh my goodness! That sounds terrifying. It is also one reason I don't want to move back to Birmingham -- it is right along Tornado Alley and storms there are really scary whereas here they are just awesome, literally. I live on the 12th floor of my building and there are storms that send the KittenCat into hiding in the closet and sometimes even I bolt for the bathroom -- small, windowless, inner room, classic tornado hideout for people who don't have basements or storm cellars.

Though i woke up with 6.3, after that breakfast (for those who are really keen, scroll up a few posts ) i was happy with 5.5. So decided to treat myself a bit... with all the weight loss over the last year, it was time to revamp the wardrobe... so some shopping happened for age appropriate linen clothes here we go ... pre vs. post

Sorry @Shas3 ..going to have to call you out on that one mate.

the top picture is obviously your older brother, and the lower pic is clearly your younger self from a few years back.
( Pretty sharper dresser, back then mind..;) )

Nice try, mate.

And in all honesty, what a fantastic turn around.:)

( the fitted shirts feel great, don't they after all the years of polos..:D )

Wow what a fab transformation

Funny that. I had A Level students who did that job for me and the exam board however much help and advice they were given. You don't think your blood could be linked in some kind of elitist conspiracy to stop we two taking control for the ordinary folk do ya?

In a Former life as an economics lecturer -whilst doing my pretty huge dissertation. I would use football to do forecasting. Oh the fun I could have with my blood sugar readings nowadays.
