Lotus 123!!! / F S for saving files!! I used to teach that stuff at one time... as weird as it sounds!! Fir a while i was teaching college students then moved to corporate clients... teaching my dad’s colleagues what a floppy disk (the 5 and half inch ones) was fun....

The semester after I learned Lotus the department switched to Microsoft. Hello, Excel.
 
Morning all. Trying to beat the dawn phenom. thingy. I'm a morning person, all my life.

FBG 6.1 mmo/lt at 0400 BST. Wide awake, so spent half an hour looking on-line for my lost Shepherd Eastleigh Engine Shed picture, reward for not drinking. Still can't find it. Did I dream it? Last days of steam, shiny rails, nostalgia.

Weather has calmed down. Should be some sun and a little warmth. Have a great day.
 
Lazy Sunday...8:00 am i get out of bed.... my meter says 6.3.... makes me wonder if my meter is stuck or my body is stuck constantly at 6.3


Eggs for breakfast- wanted to poach but was lazy... just fried them.... a walk to the neighborhood Starbucks and back.... the sun is bright after a night of showers which brought down all the Frangipani flowers in the garden which means more work later in the day

Not happy for one reason or another with any of the runners. We are in a right mess. I dont feel any of this bunch could sort it out either.
 
What a transformation. You look fantastic. You look and no doubt feel so much healthier after your incredible weight loss. Well done.
 
5.8 yesterday. No idea today! I'm away for my birthday. Treat from hubby. But I've left my testing kit in my other handbag! Rushing as usual. So no testing for almost 2 whole days!

On a lighter note I'm away from home but staying quite local in a beautiful grade 11 listed building. Full of character and history. The bannister is from a ship wrecked on the shores of Blackpool many years ago. And the flooring is from Nelson's ship. The decor is lovely. Spectacular gardens too. And a luxurious hot tub. We had a lovely afternoon chilling yesterday. When I say chilling it's in a loose sense of the word cos I was absolutely almost boiled alive! That said we loved it and might just hop in again before breaky. I'm really milking this birthday but back to reality tomorrow with a bang. Retinal eye screening!

Today's plans are 1) local garden centre 2) local stately hall 3) a little retail therapy as I have birthday vouchers that are burning a hole in my pocket.

I keep saying to myself 'right, that's it I'm.not watching any more news' I last until top of the hour! I think I'm addicted. It's not good. The addiction or the news. Depressing in fact. Anyway cant stop, sky news is calling. Apparently something to do with someone called Boris topping the headlines. My first thought 'what's he been taking???'.....

I love cream fortunately and find it to be one of the best parts to being LC. I have been LC for over 18 months and really need to start being more adventurous in the kitchen. My food is very repetitive. Especially as I am also cooking for my special needs BIL every day. He was diagnosed t2d a few months back. I deliver his meals on wheels most days. He is extremely fussy with his food. Hates sauces, spices, garlic, veg, loves bread, rice pasta and potatoes!!! Obviously I dont include those ingredients. He eats what i make. He gives brutally honest feedback when i ask whether he liked his dinner or not! I'm not easily offended Haha! Anyway I'm hoping to experiment more in the kitchen over the next few months. Need to follow the 'what have you eaten today thread'.

Alas woke up to a 11.8

I thought I ate decently yesterday.
I exercised by tidying up the garage, which is not used for car, but as a storage room for all kinds, shelves, wardrobes, cupboards etc full of my collection of books (a few thousand books), art materials, paper, canvases etc

Finally I tidied up, or began tidying up my work surfaces by the window (I have a project I wanted to start today), when I looked up...a wasps nest, or the beginnings of one rather. It was like a large acorn cup, that holds the acorn, only this looked like a birds egg hanging from it, but there was a hole at the bottom.

Then I realised there was half a dozen or more of these scattered around my garage roof. But from below standing on the ground they blend into the wood of the garage roof and can barely be seen.

So I come in the bungalow, google and you tube. I realise it is the beginnings of the wasps nests. And this is the stage where the queen wasp is working on her own and nurturing her first workers.

But a wasp's nest immediately above my head, where I am painting and printing, which has a potential of 3 to 4,000 wasps is a very big no no.

If the queen wasp had picked the other end of the garage (it is a double length garage, then I would most probably have left the nest. Wasps don't bother you at all, but if you have fear they (or most creatures) will pick it up.

I had a sleep, woke up at dusk, and that was when the sites said to spray the wasp's nest. I wasn't happy about it. I didn't have any wasp nest killer, but I did have WD40. That worked years ago when I found a massive nest inside the house behind a curtain (I cannot hear the buzzing a hearing person would), and the wasps had been going in and out of the window slats so I had never seen them even though I used the airing cupboard in that room.

So, the WD40 would work for these small wasps nests.

From my photo of the wasp's nest above my workspace it looked like 3 or 4 of the workers were about to hatch out. The others were in different stages of development. So I sprayed that one, and dashed out of the garage just in case queen wasp was around and realised what I was doing. Managed to spray another one on the way out.

So my stress levels are up a bit and my blood sugar levels, because I don't like killing things, and it is now 6:30 on a lovely Sunday morning and I need to creep back in garage and spray the others, which are all in the vicinity of my workspace. I am assuming that the same queen wasp was responsible for them all, and that they were her first failed attempts? But if not, then there is a potential of half a dozen full blown wasps nests with 3 or 4,000 little critters in each.

I don't want to go in the garage this morning....

UPDATE
Looks like I got the queen wasp, as well, for that nest above my work surface. Why couldn't she have chosen the derelict garage in next door's garden as no one goes in?
I would have been happy for her to be there.
Now I need to knock the nest off above my work surface, but I will leave the other dead nests on the ceiling of my garage and that should deter any new queen wasps....
Then maybe I can relax and my blood sugar levels will go down....

Morning all
The man in the meter must be chilled this fine morning as he has found a 4.8. I too am happy as I have lost a pound for the first time in 2 weeks.
I am off out with the dogs for a dry walk for the first time in 2 days no smell of wet dog today hopefully!

Phew gennepher I can feel the tension just reading that...thank goodness I'd already tested my FBG...I'm not surprised your BG is up no doubt it played on your mind hence the reaction...I hope that's the end of it & you can relax a little today.
 
Morning...wide awake at 06:00...bathroom...then back to bed for another couple of hours...just after 8am and the sun is shining birds singing & this coffee tastes dam fine...off to give someone a hand with a work disciplinary hearing...no doubt lots of strong language will be used before we manage to condense it into something sensible/diplomatic which will convince the panel this is such a load of **** ****… woke to a 6.3
 
Morning All. 5.7 from me. We are leaving for Cornwall in an hour dropping the girls off at the cattery on the way (with plenty of fleece blankets to temper my guilt).
@gennepher you are a brave lady, we had a gigantic swarm of wasps move across our property recently leaving after the drones tried repetitively to nest in our chimney. The next day it was quite a sight to their formation move acrosss our front heading towards our neighbours. @karen8967 hugs for the low. Hope @Cumberland is ok.@Debandez sounds like a great week good luck with the eye screening.
