A moment to treasure. So pleased for you and Mrs JEG

Thanks Ian yes it was a very touching moment for us I will hasten to add his mum takes a lot of credit for his upbringing as well but his father unfortunately has never took any responsibility for his son so as far as I am concerned we have two sons and both a credit to us.

This is beautiful. I love these clouds giving way to the hopeful sunshine on the light green grass @Muddy Cyclist

After more than 2 inches of rain over night the becks ran deep this am and the day took a few hours to see intermittent sunshine after morning showers.

We had a trip to see the high tide on the Solway after lunch.
I don't know why, but the sea alway makes me feel calm, as does woodland.

The flocks of Ringed Plover and Dunlin were having some difficulty finding a suitable place to wait and see the tide fall. They like to find an outline breaking backdrop to make them less vulnerable to being seen by Peregrines.

Hi AA,
When one takes an ARB it tends not to produce the cough. ARBs work further down the chain on angiotensin 2.

Reducing sodium intake increases renin and if not regulated constricts arteries increases aldosterone. Hence need for ARBs etc.

If sodium intake is low, Aldosterone should not cause end organ damage.

It is all very complex ... homeostasis of bp etc.

I have Conn's syndrome and have an adrenal tumour producing 20x the normal amount of aldosterone. We leak potassium due excess aldosterone.
This also prevents pancreas working properly when potassium is lost from tissue.

The only way to stop organ damage, which has already occurred, is to reduce sodium intake, but that increases aldosterone further.
Hence my need for an ARBs and Aldosterone receptor blockers.

I'll put your article to the Conn's group I am on. Thanks.

Interesting science article on Covid-19. You may have seen it already but just in case...

John Campbell has been putting out this message for ages, as are some of the medics he interviews from other countries.

Yet it was not considered to be a factor in problems ethnic minorities had during the worst of the pandemic???

It is almost beyond belief that Vitamin D was not considered a factor in problems ethnic minorities had during the pandemic.

Very interesting thank you.

Does this mean you need to monitor your sodium levels daily the same as your blood sugars?

I hadn’t come across Conn’s before so thank you again.

Disaster has struck. A major fault has occurred - so

It sounds like you have a very knowledgeable doctor.

I have a gaggle of them, misspent past and now I play test subject A when required

It was my Ayurvedic GP who suggested vit D due to me being mixed race. She is Asian herself and I dragged her into a round table with my other lot to share info back in March. My western GP added iron, cal-mag and zinc.

No, I regulate all the foods I eat and know their sodium content.
I can only check sodium in my urine doing a 24 hour collection and then use chloride sticks to calculate the amount of sodium. (Sodium is invariably associated with chloride)

Thank goodness you have an Ayurvedic GP. That must have helped tremendously.

You may have thought my original post was slightly strange. It shouldn't have contained the words 'disaster has struck '

This morning we lost our internet connection. I started typing 'disaster has struck ' when I also lost my mobile phone signal so couldn't send the post and deleted it. Have no idea how the words reappeared in your post. Very puzzling.

@dunelm More hills and rocky outcrops, can never have enough, rushed, time taking or otherwise, art is good. Your grandkids missed out on a great day yesterday, I come across a lot of those hidden mystical creatures, must paint some. What did Mr Ruskin say? "Let those that see angels where others see empty spaces, paint them" or words to that effect.
