I came across a lady in her birthday suit wild swimming in one of the pools on the Chase, these are left over from 1900 mining and fed by a spring, water is probably clean enough but I hate to think what lurks beneath. This pool is on a busy path and she didn't seem very concerned, friend tell me they have also seen her obviously becoming a regular place for a dip.
 
Yes they do, which is why I don’t eat an apple now. But, if I can make an apple sauce and freeze portions of day a teaspoon size, then maybe that might be okay?

Wasps are okay. They don’t phase me. I can stand in a swarm of flying wasps and they are not interested in me. They like the aphids on my willow trees @Muddy Cyclist
 
Finished my watercolour hazy sunset which I started yesterday. A4 about 90 minutes..

This is done on rough Canson Paper to try and enhance the hazy feel. Mrs MC wants me to return to my early painting techniques and so I have to try and find some middle ground between Impressionism style and what ever my old style was. No idea where that will lead me.
 

I believe that our painting styles change over time, as we try new ideas, and different techniques @Muddy Cyclist

I like this painting with its haziness and depth into that far distance...
 
Nice. Still hazy, lots of depth and interest. I suppose that you have to go with whatever technique you are happy with and also that you have fun playing with

Not sure if local, friends and family have used it as long as I can remember. Probably because our UK Sea is so cold and so you went for a dip in the true sense of the word. Must do some research.

Thank you. Problem is I'm never sure if I'm happy with any of my styles.

Thank you. Ideas do change I feel I've spent almost 70 years never finding a style, doesn't matter though it's the enjoyment and pleasure and need to paint that's important.
 
good evening all

4.1 this morning

been making another batch of jam for mum today before her visitors get here, it's blackcurrant and strawberry smells good but very sweet Only a couple of jars of each flavour because mum is the only one of us who usually eats it. mr gee will eat a bit occasionally on a scone but that's about the limit of it.

Was talking to someone I know from the village and when I said we had GP's in our practice I wasn't quite sure, but, apparently the process in our practice is that there are no face to face appts. initially. You call the health centre and they take some notes and then add you to a list which the doctor's work through by telephone. You get a telephone consult when they phone you and if they feel you absolutely need to be seen face to face they will give you a time to attend, you phone on arrival and they come and give you an anti covid quiz then let you in to see the doctor. She said that there are now only 4 chairs in the huge waiting room sounds fairly practical

@gennepher - that's a fun picture today, mum has a very old apple tree quite near her kitchen door, doesn't produce many apples now so at least there aren't many wasps

@JohnEGreen - that's a lovely looking scene

@Muddy Cyclist - that was a nice beginning with a lovely sky and the finished picture doesn't disappoint Lovely misty distance and skyline.

I think we are misunderstanding each other. I was wondering if dip was a euphemism for roll in the hay. Doesn't work now. Sorry.
 

It is not your problem, John.
I am conscious sometimes I use birding jargon and it can be a pain!

Your Grey Herons,for example, are sometimes called, Grey Franks, because they call "frank".
One my better half really dislikes, is calling Black-tailed Godwits...... Blackwits instead.
