Many people have a skewed idea of what seeking asylum means who asylum seekers are & what have been through...so all credit to your daughter...the irony is many are fleeing persecution from countries that have been affected by western politics economics & the ensuing conflicts that result. My daughter spent four years as a doctor to asylum seekers,

Thank you very much @Muddy CyclistNice of you to use your talent to please your friend, nice swans and grand background.
I never wish ill on anyone, but I do keep an open mind as an observer...You mean your not charitable enough, Gennepher, to see at as poetic justice?

Grandchildren - such joy.Good Morning and 5.6 for me today.
Wet here today, backache gone but now my abscess from tooth a few weeks ago started swelling and hurting again so a day trying to get to see my dentist. I feel like I'm becoming the forums hypochondriac
Seeing two eldest grandaughters for evening meal, without their dad was very enlightening, funny and entertaining, lovely to be with them for a few hours.
Take the day as it comes. Keep safe.
This is lovely @dunelmGood morning everyone from a mixed bag of a start in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of bacon and eggs with home made fibreFlour beetroot bread came in at 5.2 this am
Not made beetroot bread before but it’s great. Downside is that Mrs Miggins also likes it even though it’s primarily “that fake flour stuff”. Oh well - secret squirrel bread making it is.
Youngest granddaughter today. We were meeting up with a couple of old friends today who are touring in their camper but they have decided not to travel any further north due to areas squeezing into lockdown. We are OK at present but Middlesbrough, just up the road is now surrounded by people in robes and bird shaped masks.
Have a wonderful Friday, hope that storm Alex does not interfere too much with your weekend.
Today, the last of the elderberries. Koffy

There are many examples of how western 'forces' have necessitated the need for many to flee their own countries...the big oil companies who raised havoc in Nigeria...Somalis escaping civil war...Afghanistan there are many more who have fled with legitimate cause only to be met with 'you're coming here for a free ride'...a majority who seek asylum had comfortable lifestyles...a good standard of living Syria is a prime example of that until of course the war erupted.Hi Harry,
I don't know how long it will take for humans to act humanely, universally and to heal the planet we rely on for our future lives?
It is a very difficult problem to solve and since we still have children going to school hungry in this country and food banks are feeding more who are being tipped into poverty, it is sadly going to be a long job.

We all live on a very fine knife edge in these times. I watched Doctor Zhivago a few nights back, yes I know it's romantic tosh but a great film nevertheless. It bought to mind How quickly things can change and comfortable life styles lost in the blink of an eye for survival. Also we must realise it's not just the rich and powerful that cause inequality and hardship, it's the taste of power in any level of society, intellectual socialists, far right extremists, organised religion of all denominations and the list goes on, humans en mass do not seem to hold on to humanity. Sorry I will get off my soap boxThere are many examples of how western 'forces' have necessitated the need for many to flee their own countries...the big oil companies who raised havoc in Nigeria...Somalis escaping civil war...Afghanistan there are many more who have fled with legitimate cause only to be met with 'you're coming here for a free ride'...a majority who seek asylum had comfortable lifestyles...a good standard of living Syria is a prime example of that until of course the war erupted.
I agree so no soap box criticism here...we sign up to an international treaty/law so we need to adhere to its principles...oops forgot we don't have to do that now since The Overseas Operations Bill was passed.Sorry I will get off my soap box
6.2 - pretty good that. Cauliflower is also good for making “mash” - shove it into a blender to make “rice” and then squeeze as much water out of it as you can - I also make pancake like drop scone things with it - good with bacon and eggs. Full fat greek yoghurt is probably the best bet - about 4.5% carbs. Lidl do a good one in a big pot.@dunelm thanks for the welcomeThe only white thing i've been eating is cauliflower as a fake rice... i wasnt keen on the idea of it and now i really enjoy it but yea those carbs are sneaky and i have been tracking carbs on a app and also reading the food packaging alot. It's funny you mentioned yogurts because i've really fancied some but i'm really unsure which is a good choice. todays bloods were 6.2 again
