What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

It was quite warm here too yesterday. I love the snowdrops in the photo @geefull

Thank you. Popeye has improved back to his normal. I am grateful for that.

I like the intensity of the green of your trees and their reflections. Beautiful. It is a soothing painting for me.
So pleased that Popeye has improved and is back to his normal self.

Fbg 6.9

Popeye is right under my chin, and aided with a few brush strokes of his own, and one dramatic change which I had to reverse. Because, this is an apple tree which is round the corner from me in someone's front garden which has a mug always hanging on the same branch. Incidentally, there is an old telephone box, obviously in use long ago because it has a short concrete path leading to it from the road, but now has garden tools and equipment in it.

Going back to the apple tree, when I saw it the other morning, it reminded me of when J and I went into the mountains not far from here to visits a garden in the Yellow Gardens scheme (I wonder if that will return when/if Covid gets under control?). It was high up. There was an apple orchard in full bloom. I am sitting on a wooden bench. Suddenly gusts of wind blew most of the petals off the trees all around me and on to me. It was like I was sitting in heaven. Just this snowfall of pink petals.

So, in Procreate I used only two painting tools to create this digital painting. On was a dry brush for the landscape and apple tree. And for the blossoms I used the shimmer painting tool.

I had finished it. But Popeye, being his usual helpful self, touched something with his paw, and completely changed the painting. I saved what he had done because I thought it was an interesting effect (but how on Earth I replicate what he has done, I have no idea), but I pressed the undo button and got my painting back...

I am just about to post my painting here, when I realised I was being mean, and so I am going to get his version back, and sign it with his seal...

Okay, done that!
First version is my digital painting with my memories.
Second version is Popeye's redoing version of my painting...what his memories are I have no idea...

Both versions are stunning @gennepher .

5.2 this morning. Did really well yesterday and have got everything sorted for the bank reconciliation for January and have started sorting it for February.

For such a small limited company it is surprising we have so much paperwork to do. If course it is well worth doing if we were ever investigated by HMRC. A good friend of ours didn't have the necessary audit trails and was fined £10K . She was absolutely 100% honest but couldn't prove it - which was really sad.

good evening all :)

4.4 today

It's surprisingly warm here today although very windy :D
Even the big heap of snow we piled up when we shoveled the car and path out has melted now :joyful:

Over to Mum's to pick up her shopping list ready for the weekly trip tomorrow, the snow there is gone but, of course, the pool is back, it's not bothering the snowdrops though ;)

Hope your day is treating you kindly :)

@gennepher - hope it was just a bit of a long nap for Popeye and he continues to be well.
You've managed a lovely glow with the light in your painting and the conifers have real presence :joyful:

@dunelm - glad Mum's hip operation recovery is going well. A fantastic raven you've painted, such an intelligent look in his eye :)

@Krystyna23040 - Archie is a real character :)

@SlimLizzy - Hope mr Slim continues better. Could be a side effect, it took mr gee 3-4 days to get over the fatigued and sleepy stage completely.

@lindisfel - we had two yellow hammers in the garden this morning, so bright :)

@Muddy Cyclist - Lovely painting, such an interesting sky and I love the hints of colour (definitely more like naturalistic Northern lights than my effort :hilarious: ), and the foreground foliage adds effectively to the depth, very satisfying :joyful:

art bit - lost the reference for this :sorry: (could be inspired by one of Adrienne Pavelka's though)

Thank you.

It's a shame the pop up pond popped up again but snow drops at your moms look good.

A good strong painting from yourself, that spit of land with strong greens gives it so much depth, distant hills as skilfully painted as ever and a good light on the water.

Creative imaginative compositions from yourself and fellow artist. Now let me see which artist do I think won the day....hmmm?

Good Morning and 5.5 for me today. What I expected after Sea Bas, Baked in olive oil and garlic, Italian herbs and Parsley and a cup of white wine for dinner last night.

A Muddy Cycle ride for me today, Spring is in the air and I need to feel the beauty of creation stirring over the heathland so a long ride required.

More music to record and painting to do and the day is gone. One forgets it's half term and usually we would be rambling and exploring Welsh Mountains, Rivers and Lakes with our kids and grandchildren, can't even get to see them now.

Keep safe and warm and enjoy the beauty of small things.

Good morning everyone from a lovely quiet start to bin day in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of savoury low carb pancakes with bacon came in at a flat 5.0 this am

Had my letter regarding vaccine appointment but the nearest mass vaccine centre is in another county - might just wait for my GP to contact me. Will see. One cormorant back in the park yesterday, much to the annoyance the herons - you can’t really tell but I think that they hunch further over in concentration, whispering,”ever so humble Mr Copperfield”.

@Muddy Cyclist - great stormy winter days sky - I want to crunch over to that stand of trees to see what’s beyond.
@geefull - thank you for your kind words - nice pool shot - will it make a painting? Another very tranquil work from you - wonderful colours in those mountains and the greenery beautifully reflected in the water.
@gennepher - thank you for your kind words - apple tree by dawn and by dusk - artists collaborating - both displayed for the vernissage

Art today - yellow paper with more yellow on a backwash - I tore the paper putting it on but it dried OK. Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday. Koffy time.

This morning a 5.5 fasting figure.

Have been down to walk around Pulteney Bridge with Arthur the hyperactive poodle then meander back up the hill home here in Bath.

Breakfast will be poached eggs, spinach and grilled bacon before a full day on conference calls with my team spread across interesting locales including Mumbai and Tel Aviv. At least I don't have to travel...

Welcome @BRSBRI

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who can remember doing the hop, skip and jump while in their first childhood. Remember it's national bin day.

A 5.4 this morning on that scheming meter of misbehaving and naughtiness.

Here in a wet Tilehurst Towers me and me's will not be bird watching, communal hymn singing or bible reading instead the plan for today is planning how to maintain what little is left of my sanity drinking tea and also koffy, plinky plonky practice, walkies to maintain my pace count and finally, well sorry but that's a secret.

Have a great day, stay safe, stay well and stay away from the harbingers of doom gloom and despondency ie the media.
Time to go and awake the sleeping dragon yep Mrs J.

Good to hear that Mr Slim is feeling much better. Hope you won't find the chocolates too tempting.
