What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fattbar cookies came - 2 days early - so I tried the new ones with some coffee. To me it was just like shortbread - very happy with that. Nutritional analysis here and ingredients here I'm 20 mins into seeing the effect but the all butter ones gave a slight dip in bg. I like the fibre content, lack of eryth and crispish texture. No bitter dark choc or horrible aftertaste is a winner. I don't know, but I'd say they are competitively priced compared to well known coffee shop chains. I prefer Starbucks CWC or coffee flavoured almond milk personally.

6.5 for me today - possibly stress related - I have an interview next week on Skype and I have never done Skype before - so more worried about this than the actual interview - does anyone know if a Skype interview would simply be the interviewer sending a link to my e-mail account for me to click on to start the meeting or whatever? and does anyone know if my gmail email account would be ok for this or would I have to use a microsoft outlook email account for this (which I have already) - calling any Skypers - any help would be much appreciated???

Arguably socially distanced but c'mon, casuistry at its most extreme. Insistence on respecting the impact of one's own behaviour on others for the little people and a vague (disposable) aspiration for the right type of person. One wonders from whence the expectation that such behaviour and attitude could possibly have been incubated ? Is it The Barnard Castle manoeuvre or a straight faced denial of any wrong doing, smoking gun in hand? Very popular these days. Costly but not very Pritti.

Good luck! This might help.

Cheers for that - someone I had spoken to had said I couldn't do it through my gmail account but looks like I can according to this - I am just confused.com with it all - company seem interested as arranged an interview with me within a couple of hours of me applying - I am confident I could do the job but not confident on this Skype carry on - I wish it was a good old fashioned face to face which I would be a lot happier with - I had looked on you tube also and googled it and somewhere I has seen it can not be done on a gmail email it has to be a microsoft account which someone else has told me also - who knows? Many thanks

You'll be a superstar! I'd ask interviewer for any link in advance so you can test the connection so there's no tech flies in the ointment...when I interviewed someone the other week that created a fab 1st impression...oh and she got the job!

Good morning everyone from a currently dull start to what may be a promising day here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of lies and deception came in at 6.8 this am - hm!

Had to quickly skim everything to catch up but - good landscape @Muddy Cyclist even though I can’t see the cricket pitch, fabulously cold scenery @geefull and more joy on the beach from @gennepher.

Trip to York was a bit of a let down - everything was closed apart from a new interactive art installation where you wander round a series of portacabins, arms exposed, avoiding all the actors dressed as soldiers until someone jumps out, jabs your arm with a needle and orders you to sit on a chair for 15 minutes. Utterly pointless. Nearly as bad as that tent thing by Tracey Emin. To cap it all, I missed last nights episode of Grayson Perry’s Art Club.

A fish this morning - that’s not doing so well either. Have a wonderful day if you can. Koffy is calling.

Poor fish being caught @dunelm
Just like you were snared by York....

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

A peanut fueled 7.0 this morning and I don't care.

Today is Mrs J's birfday therefore the day will be filled with excesses of all sorts. Mrs J celebrates in style and so ( whether they want to or not ) does everyone around her.
Me is far too much of a gentleman to mention her age, but me's are not........here's a little rhythm stolen from a band.
Will I still need you?
Will I still keep you?
When you're 64.
Of course, because I can't use the washing machine.
Happy Birthday for Mrs J @alf_Josiah

Yes I am going to phone her on Monday morning just to confirm what the set up will be and advise I am a novice to Skype so she doesn't expect FABULOUS - I am more a zoom & whats app gal - so hopefully my experience as I think that's what interested her will get me through it but I would be a lot happier doing face to face ... when is this nightmare going to end ... btw have you used teams that was another option?

What do people say at interviews as their strengths & weaknesses?

Cookie dropped bg by .3 on Swipey at the equivalent of 2 hrs (I add 18 mins but how much should I add on?) - but CWC does that on its own. I guess the takeaway is the cookie didn't cause a big spike.

If you're a Microsoft aficionado, teams is a great option. I work for a tech company that invented Facetime so that's what we use internally. I know, as much use as a chocolate teapot!

This is a good crib sheet on the strengths and weakness question:

https://www.roberthalf.com/blog/job...talk-about-your-weaknesses-in-a-job-interview

I know I'm speaking with someone who knows this - prep by looking at the interviewer on LinkedIn, build a picture. Look at the job description and/or person specification, apply the test - what strengths do I have against their laundry list? Equally, do the same for the lesser strengths otherwise known as weaknesses

They may ask situational questions on how you'd react to or address a challenge.

On weaknesses - again, look at the JD and or PS and be candid. You could use phrases like " I can be..... however I'd mitigate this by...."

Have plenty questions ready based on your company research too...

You go MrsT!

A quiet day in Bath. Arthur the poodle is dragging Mrs BRS on a long canter I imagine, bedraggled by now I'm certain. Gerald the cat, is attacking anything that moves, including me.

Got prescription copies and a note from Dr in case it's needed on my travels along with a tick I've had a vaccine to show anybody enquiring along with a negative covid test I will take 24 hours before travel.

This time next week, I'll have already made the journey to Farnborough "Airport" to hitch a lift all the way to Taipei. After 3 days and a visit to one other location for our new product launches, head into Singapore for 2 days and then back to Heathrow on good old BA or Singapore Airlines, haven't decided yet whether I want points or good service lol!

I'm knackered just thinking about it..

And now the cat wants to rip the sofa. The joys.

Hope you don’t mind my butting in to add to what BRSBRI has said. I do a lot of interviewing too and that question is challenging - but my advice would be to find something authentic to say that doesn’t have a devastating impact on the key criteria on the person spec. Personally I see strengths and weaknesses as 2 sides of the same coin.

I have been out, got more eggs, and food shopping, posted my postcards, got home...shattered...went back to bed...fell into a deep sleep...woke up at 1:30 pm....just now...

I see there is sun and blue skies out there, so going to join that robin who I can see has discovered my bucket of soil from my wormery, which I was going to use this morning, but went back to bed instead. Robin is having a feast of worms, which were meant for my plant pots to enrich the soil in my plant pots...

Back later...

Don't mind at all - the more help the better - I need it - I haven't had a proper interview in over 5 years - do you mind sharing some examples of strengths and weaknesses that you have heard that would impress an interviewer for a office based role?
