What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Thanks @Krystyna23040

@alf_Josiah does have a very valid point. I accept that.
I admit I don’t want to have to make that decision when the time comes.
But these are my thoughts at the the moment.
You have a good day.

I've been trying to decipher the edicts of Profs Whitty and Valance. They've both indicated the first dose gives a "good degree" of protection and the second optimal protection.

The first AZ dose I had played havoc with me for 36 hours, with blood sugars showing over 12mmol before dropping like a stone making me dizzy along with other side effects...

It's a minefield as you say; with the predictions of a new autumnal wave hitting the UK, max protection would seem to be the safest approach for many...

It's a very interesting conundrum for want of a better word....

Whoa, great link @gennepher

I heard all the hoo haa over the one jab, and reading up came down on the current UK, jab all once, and believe that's the right decision.

Very interesting link, particularly re the overall % effect, reading it like that changes the context, thanks for posting.

Good to hear the positive effect on your neuropathy..
( never could guess from your daily posts)
Tough barely covers it .respect

Do hear your quandary, tho ..Mmhh

Not sure what I'd do, if honest.

Guess the endurance of the offered protection is what determines that decision.

I could say don't worry, just have the one, there'll be booster/annual shots like flu jabs, but then you'll still have the worry the "top up" might disturb that new beneficial balance as well..

And also, how vulnerable might we be as the vaccine effects diminish over time, as might the benefit it offers you...

Much to consider.

I would however, certainly suggest you inform someone at your surgery or other authority, ( can't think who, off hand)

If it helps you, it may also be a working side effect for others
Sure many meds are repurposed, be a shame a happy side effect got ignored that MAY offer help to other illnesses or disease.

Hopefully others might be more opened minded then ours seem for T2D & LCHF

Take care, Genn..
Have a good day

Certainly agree, Genn.

@alf_Josiah and @Krystyna23040 point well taken, I'd say.

A little of the Wisdom of Solomon would come in handy ....or one of those Eight Ball things

Thanks @jjraak
I agree with all your points.
And possible future vaccine effects that might take away my benefit, for the annual vaccine. It is a minefield to have to decide on.

But, one step at a time. I will reconsider every step of the way.

Have a good day.

12.5 then an hour later 7.5 - fell off the wagon yesterday and feel sick today Plus I had a very late night.

Hug for the feeling sick and higher than wanted fbg but winner for still testing and sharing. No good comes of running away from monitoring. Today is another opportunity to do things differently and see bg more where you want it to be in the morning.

Sending all the best ... Hope you're getting there...

And another day turns to night ... Having just one drink mixed up with whatever supplies I had to hand in my enforced confinement...a conference call with California in 4 hours is next up. They're 15 hours behind us and with calls to Europe - us 8 hours ahead of UK - I get very very confused

Hope all's well so far this Monday

Thank you, yerp my own fault - caved in and had a chocolate ice cream. So I have a headache from the chocolate and sicky feeling as it was way to sweet. Did not help having a very late night.

I think this is your first post to our quiet corner of the forum if so welcome and enjoy.

Hi Gennepher,
I wouldn't worry about the second jab having had it last friday, if we got Covid and hopefully survived, it could screw our body chemistries up for the rest of our lives.

I would have a morning swim out into the Pacific to the IDL and you could turn yesterday into today.

Would you believe it, eldest has sent Marjorie a big box of fair trade chocolate bars for Mother's Day.
Drop one of those bars on your foot and it would hurt.
Afraid I shall not be able to help her eat it all.
