Good morning everyone from a cool and breezy start here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of a spicy Mexican bowl came in at 4.8 this am.

Nothing planned for today and it looks like wrap up warm for going out. Low tide this morning is at 0735 so an early start if we want to walk down the beach.
Art - 3 yesterday - one locked into Schrodinger’s drawer of mystery, one - who knows and one that Mrs Miggins informs me is “OK”. Two here, ink on A4 bleedproof marker paper. First has had a resist and then a random grey wash applied. Hope your Thursday is a good one. Koffy needed.

Negotiations resume tomorrow. Waiting on a taxi to take me back to the hotel as Wan isn't available till later. The 2 day tour of part of Taiwan isn't happening tomorrow now, but rebooked for Sat and Sun, with Wan at the helm. That's the current idea anyway...

It's worked out well I suppose as it gives another whole day to work things through to a final agreement and after the marathon yesterday with another marathon tomorrow the early finish will allow me to prepare and chat things through with Singapore, Ireland and the US...


Sigh.

Edited: Now working Sunday...so tour of part of Taiwan is Saturday, Monday. Tying up loose ends Tuesday am, final meeting Wednesday and on a Gulfstream G650 home Thursday direct to Farnborough. All ticked literally in the last 60 seconds. I'm knackered...!

P.S. My brinkmanship worked - agreement in principle - here. I need a drink.
 
Good morning everyone. So many people to commemorate in the woke C of E. 2 that weren't around in the BCP and one that was. Walter Hilton of Thurgarton, definitely around then; Oscar Romero, Paul Couturier. A flat 5.0 on Swipey - meh. Prawn curry with stir fry veg just scrapes in to the don't reject but tweak team. The Great British unboxing treasure hunt continues - boys working to 10.30 most nights and fluent Anglo Saxon rends the Suffolk air .91 yo MIL spends time with 2 yo granddaughter and, after school, 8 yo grandson today. When dad collects them 4 generations of Julie's family briefly in one place - don't tell Pritti - but every adult tested within 24 hrs! @dunelm, how very thoughtful but I am now drawn to more modern watercolour artists. Also, Julie says she could get a decent dress and shoes for that price so no go. I'll leave @Krystyna23040 to Norfolk art.

If you arrive late at the beach you can always paddle.

I like both of these ink pieces today. Resist and wash worked very well resulting into a good landscape, reminded me of the pictures coming out of Australia with its unusual rainfall on Uluru.
Second is an extremely well drawn rocky tree scene, both are great pieces.
 
Imagine what'd happen with the Blonde Idiot in No 10 mixing a text up - I shudder to think...

Food delivery day today and it looks like a morning of heavy rain from 0900. So I'll have to get my umbrella out.

With being into birding for so much of my life I guess one tends to feel the pulse of the seasons more, like early man would.

The Spring migrants are coming in and the winter migrants are moving back north to breed.
This last week hundreds of Whooper Swans have been moving north out of England into Scotland ready to fly back to Iceland, some moving in the night.
I only hope they miss the ranks of wind farms across their path as the go north through the Borders.

Fieldfares were moving through here last week on their way back to Scandinavia, Sandwich Terns are coming up our coasts to breed and Wheatears can be seen on coastal grassy swards on their way north.
What a great time to be alive and none of them know anything at all about Covid.

5.5.this gloriously sunny morning. So lovely to walk the dogs in the sunshine.

Not such a hectic day today. Time to read, relax, drink coffee and do admin before classes this evening.

Have hopefully booked on a training course in April on Zoom. Have sent the email off to book it but now will just have to wait to hear if I got on.

Although I do miss my trips to London for training (or as Mr K calls them 'jollies') i quite like doing the training on Zoom.

Also it is so much cheaper. No paying out for first class travel on the train nor a night or two in a luxury boutique hotel and lovely meals out and some really enjoyable visits to museums and art galleries..... I really don't understand though why Mr K insists on calling it a jolly
 
Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who are unsure about today.

A 7.0 on that meter of mystery this morning.

Today I shall start to make sawdust, with the byproduct being 4 x 1 meter long planters, this little project shall hopefully keep me out of Mrs J's way.

Have as good a day as you can and remember the mantra, stay well, stay safe and stay away from the media.
 
May I suggest a trade off? Mr K could attend a training course at Lords or Twickers to study the impact of modern sports science on human physique and sporting performance. Essential overnight stays and adequate reflection time must be factored in. Surely the information would be invaluable for some clients so it would be a legitimate business expense?

Dinner procured - heading back to hotel with what's become a staple of peking duck, bok choy, Chinese greens and hot and sour soup with extra chillis for a kick...

In the restaurant, punters are encouraged to add to the murals - here's a sample.

5 mins from my hotel ...on foot with backpack and a takeaway! Photo taken...somehow...

What a topsy turvy unpredictable day. If they sign it all off tomorrow, I'm taking them to a Michelin starred joint in a private room, Covid friendly setting. I'm exhausted!

The Black Dog in various guises makes frequent appearances in this thread. Today's poem is by G M Hopkins. It is one of a set of sonnets comprising the Terrible Sonnets - themes not quality. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/44396/i-wake-and-feel-the-fell-of-dark-not-day. I see triple relevance : many experience guilt or feelings of weakness for their feelings and lockdown has brought these feelings to people who had never experienced them before and perhaps had no empathy for those who did. For Christians at this stage of Lent reflecting on Jesus in Gethsemane is important. Those were dark hours. Hopkins was deeply Christian but still prey to such lows. It ain't all happy clappy even with deep faith in either God or LCHF. I don't suffer from Black Dog - I definitely have rational doubts/questions - so no hugs needed. Enjoy the poem and feeling of solidarity. No need to be a believer.
