I had the same bad advice from GP, and diabetic nurse, and the dietitian @Krystyna23040 and @RFSMarch
I tried following their advice for controlling my diabetes, but it was the eatwell plate etc, and very high carbs. And it was 'diabetes is progressive, you have to eat, so we will give you more and more meds'.
I don't like being talked down to when I am trying point out online their appeared to be other ways of dealing with diabetes. And I did ask him if he could work with me with his knowledge. Dietitian told me he had several years of training, and I had none, he knew it all, so therefore I had to follow his advice implicitly. I asked dietitian when had he done his training, because the pamphlets he had given me were dated many years previously. Didn't go down well, dietitian blew his top and was rude and virtually chucked me out almost saying for me never to darken his doorstep again. I responded in kind to him. I was not rude but I said my piece. Dietitian was having an apoplectic fit by this time. He was being very unpleasant. I could have reported him for misconduct, but I didn't. There was nothing in my words or behaviour that he could report me for.
You can't really blame the average diabetic patient for following the 'official' advice.
Hey
Couple reasons- not really supposed to take unauthorised photos in Campus and I've said a couple of things here which corporate comms might get antsy on. Now my review is outta way I might boatrace it
Casual - polo shirt, jeans and Lacoste running shoes.
More formally later - string vest with corporate logo, false ponytail, shorts, and knee length socks with plastic open toed sandals. Don't forget being unshaven. The corporate mover and shaker look
Last time I wore a suit was at the UK Parliament. The tie made me feel dizzy...
Hope all's well
Congratulations, I hope. Sounds as though you will be very busy.Good morning everyone.
My FBG an hour or so ago was a rubbish 7.3mmol - stress induced I'm sure.
I have been confirmed after my performance review (which lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes in the end) as now running 2 groups totalling 320 folks, with 40 more to bring on board and 10 direct reports. It's a huge responsibility which has sent my blood sugar haywire.
After taking my new more senior boss to pick up his car - see the photo - his share options have been good I think (!) I went back to work, got to the hotel (not an apartment as I had thought) at 9pm, ordered scallops and a glass of wine which arrived 10 minutes after ordering. At 1am I was awoken to deal with a conference call on the other side of the world.
17c in the valley, so my new team and I are assembling outside on the roof of the hotel for an outside meeting for 3 hours then 1 on 1s for the rest of the day till nightfall.
Tomorrow, design meetings till 4pm and Friday evening off.
Oh mobile ringing....photos to follow.
Hope all well with all.
Great photos - scallops look good.@lindisfel - this is the road you're talking about? The actual white knuckle Highway 101...in an unfamiliar car, it was "interesting"
@dunelm @jjraak my new boss leaving the garage - I think the car is not very planet friendly
@muddycyclist - you'd like this hotel...help yourself apparently, but return...
the dark walk to the hotel. It was a very long day
Dinner photo
Where meetings will be all day
I try to read as many posts as I can between now and 1000 when they arrive...
Hope all well!

When first diagnosed I was sent on a Desmond Course and looked forward to that. The course was run by a diabetic specialist nurse and a nutritionist. Within 2 minutes I had decided to ignore everything that these script readers said and did not go back for the second day. Tweedledum and Tweedledee - Agreed to have a battle. I think that they both are now quite hooked on all manor of potions.I had the same bad advice from GP, and diabetic nurse, and the dietitian @Krystyna23040 and @RFSMarch

Well done Popeye - grabbing the best seat in the house. Good that you managed to capture the mood.I have not one ounce of drawing or painting skills at this end of a long exhausting, tiring day. Even my iPad is acting exhausted...refusing to behave...
I just need sleep...
The cat is asleep in cloud 9 on my lap...and I would join him...but I cannot find a lap...

Good news I'm joining @gennepher and crossing fingers for your success.Today started of a calm 5.9 then ...
late morning I get a phone call from another company I have applied to, arranging an interview for next week but although I have sent my cv I still have to apply via company application form which he e-mails to me and then after faffing about I work out I have to download it, edit it and then reply to his e-mail and attach it, so that was my afternoon taken care of between that and stuff I had to return to the post office and then late afternoon I get a phone call from the company I went for interview with earlier this week wanting me to attend 2nd interview next week also, so I am interviewed oot and I have got some new swatting to do for the 1st interview and probably a bit for 2nd interview too as I don't know what I will be asked ... Thanks to everyone for the good wishes I really do appreciate it - it is such a friendly and supportive chat this wee thread - much appreciated
Welcome back @JohnEGreen - I am glad you are doing ok sir
@BRSBRI glad the appraisal went well with the big wigs - told you, you would nail it - you have impressed them that much you now have added responsibilities - well done you!
Really good news about the interviews. I am not surprised that filling in the application form took so long. I know that filling forms in on the computer and sending them back via email is an environmentally friendly way to do things but sometimes it is much quicker and easier to fill in a paper form and post it.Today started of a calm 5.9 then ...

Hope your good lady is feeling OK after yesterday's jab.
The escape and visit of grandchildren sound ideal.good morning everyone from another morning of mystery and expectations here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of chicken with spinach, tomatoes and melted mozarella came in at a reasonable 5.2 this am
Our little house on the prairie has now been opened up ready for away days. We have not used it since September and are looking forward to using it again. There is talk amongst the grandchildren of visiting us there next week before school resumes.
2 years ago today we were in San Antonio with one of my sisters and her family. They lived in Texas at that time so we spent a week with them between visits to NY and then Washington for the blossom festival. I expect that we will have to wait until next year to visit again - this time back in their home town of Fayetteville.
The greattits are still around and the male (at least I think that it is) keeps bashing itself on the windows trying to get in. Maybe I should hire a hawk? Bird food - must add that to our shopping list.
Art today - some marbling and a wee corvid who has been taught to say ‘Jeremy’. Hope that everyone has a fabulous Friday - I am going to tuck it onto the next couple of days and have a long weekend. Time for koffy.

I think we should!!!Perhaps we should wear it as a badge of honour. I am also very polite and non-confrontational - just as you are. I wonder if it is that which makes them so annoyed.
Very interesting that using the Reader's digest advice on how to approach arrogant doctors went down much better.
I like the way this is going @Muddy CyclistThe next in my series of minimal spring Woodland watercolours. The tree will rise a Silver Birch and the orange is Masking fluid which will be removed once the background is complete. This is at the second wash of colour stage.
A4 watercolour...
