These trees of yours are really good. Smashing. Yes, put on the dog barking - who let the dogs out?Fbg6.4
Creative today...
A tree drawn with a black calligraphy pen.
Sprayed with water.
And here it is.
It is about time I set off my dog bark alarm again. Either side of me, the neighbours dogs are barking a very loud agitated conversation.
And then I need a nap...
Grumpy old lady has been awake since 3am...
A good bark might clear the air...

Yesterday I made hachis parementier Chou fleur. That car issue sounds like a Gallic scam. Glad we didn't move to The Perigord Noir now (who am I kidding?) Yes, returning to this sceptic Isle does mean more layers than anyone should be forced to endure - (especially shoes and socks
) and trying to find hot food from Elsie's laughable repertoire. No one, as yet, has ever convinced me that such a thing as a suitable LC/Keto casserole exists. All I have tried should be marked unfit for human consumption. Oh Cassoulet I miss thee - no, you can't "swap" the beans.
I havethe food fairy has the swede puree orf pat. I do so enjoy autumn and winterand most of spring. You take care.
Good news that the meal went down well with the guests. Well done you. I can totally understand how Mr Slim would need more substance. Being a Fen lad I am an apostate for not eating potatoes or carrots. How the heck does anyone make an Elsie gravy that is fit for humans?Yesterday I made hachis parementier Chou fleur.
A version of cottage pie that uses cauliflower mashed with a dash of cream instead of potato, our guests enjoyed it, although, MrSlim peeled and cooked potatoes to accompany it.obviousky brocolli, carrots and sprouts were not sufficient for him.

I would love to be at that beach in the dark watching those waves @dunelmGood morning everyone from another day in paradise here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of down at the pub came in at 5.6 this am
Boxes, boxes, everywhere and not the room to move. Getting there slowly. Our friend arrived yesterday from LA on his European tour - well, Frankfurt and then the dark and dangerous north. We have known each other since we were 15 year old boy soldiers. He usually comes over once a year and stays for a week but is heading back to Frankfurt on Thursday this time to tie up the sale of a pair of apartments and then back to LA. I think that he is just skiving off Thanksgiving. He had a stroke a couple of years ago so I am in contact with his wife and give her updates (she told me to look after him). We went to the pub - 5 or 6 minutes in a car. Very dark but enough light to see the waves crashing onto the beach and amongst the lit pilings on the pier. The Ship is right next to the beach and does a good array of freshly prepared food and a fairly decent wine. He dived into some beer battered fish and thick cut double fried chips! Still a daft lad from Leeds then.
No idea about today, let it be a mystery.
Art bit - a tree and a boat - can’t remember who first painted it but there you go. Have a wonderful day if you can. Time for a large cafetière of koffy.

The initial investigation was done by a garage not a CT station.Oh dear and what a good job that MrSlim had palpitations about the initial CT test. Yes, my cafetière is what makes the world wake up in the mornings - very, very essential although in the 60’s my mother just used to use an ordinary jug and a tea strainer used specifically for koffy.
MrSlim uses pan juices, wine and butter. Reduced.Good news that the meal went down well with the guests. Well done you. I can totally understand how Mr Slim would need more substance. Good morning @alf_JosiahGood Morening Ladies and Gentlemen from an absentee for a few days.
Bloods the last few mornings were 6.8, 4.5, 5.1 and this morning 5.3.
Life here in Tilehurst Towers is full on and busy doing nothing….. I wish, I’ve stolen some time to read a paperback book and don’t feel guilty, but plinky plonky practice time is down :-( , I’ve not caught up on posts so me and me’s hope you are all well.
Stay safe all
I think that wine tasting was essential @SlimLizzy23.11
8.15am FBG 6.1
That is probably the late dinner, since i am now back onto LC, mostly! Used the second oven, and now know it doesn't heat up properly. Because of that dinner was very late, nearly 9pm, which meant I had to have a small piece of crispy fried bread with my wine beforehand. The wine was some MrSlim had ordered direct from the vineyard, intended for Xmas, delivered yesterday, so of course we had to taste test... Although opening three bottles in twenty mins did seem a bit excessive to me.I declined a taste of the red.
The weather has now turned cold and windy. So far so good. The electrician has arrived and we should have lights and some heating today. He can't enable the whole lot as we still don't have enough power. Sometime next year? The electrician will be changing the fuse box? You can tell i dont exactly understand the process. After that we will have more power available.
The roofer is scheduled for next week, I think. Can't really believe they are finally coming. It's almost bound to rain when roofers are here. We had a wet summer, but so far autumn has been mostly dry. Is the rain waiting for the most inconvenient time?
Have caught two mice in the kitchen.
Rather horribly one of them escaped the trap and was wandering about obviously injured. I showed it to next doors cat, who was hanging about, but she declined the offer and I had to finish it off myself
Wish we could find out how they get in.
Owl box had been requested.
@dunelm boxes everywhere. Hope you labelled them all...
I was just thinking about the gravy issue. Would proper gravy really be that bad on a roast dinner. Mr K would never give up gravy but I have never liked it and just tolerated it because everyone had gravy on their roasts - even though I found gravy a bit yuk (or actually quite a bit yuk). I am really happy to say no to it now.How the heck does anyone make an Elsie gravy that is fit for humans?
I quite like the sound of Mr Slim's gravy.MrSlim uses pan juices, wine and butter. Reduced.
