Dunelm thank you its hard sometimes on here writing about what life throws at you but I get really uneasy when what I need to do to help myself like breaks away are not achievable by everyone, I feel uncomfortable wondering what people think. Anyone I know will tell you I am the sort of person that will help and advice we’re I think I can do whatever it takes to help someone.Hug for the anxiety and you do have to do what is helping you. Glad that you are getting out more and yes, we continue with mask wearing and hand sanitising.
Ianspur thank you for that really informative and helpful video link it has reinforced what I have been trying to get across to my diabetic GP all along, it’s what foods you eat that controls diabetes not medication for type2 diabetics . The low Carb diet is the way to go for BG control weight and high blood pressure. I’m convinced and so are many many more people are too but who lets the NHS know because they still advocate in the type2 diet have carbs with all your meals, no wonder so many have not gained control of our diabetes. So again thank you. Thank you. KAs you say "I’m just saying what is helping myself it’s what I need to do to address my own problems and situation now" I'm no huge fan of some of the authorities on T2 but I do really like David Unwin's mantra that N=1. The post I link.reinforces your point. Hug for the anxiety and yay for dealing with it so well.
Glad it was useful. Keeping an eye on the effects of food on bg is one thing. Advocating no carbs for everyone or a set regime just because it works for you is dangerous. The point I wanted to make is we are all unique and what suits one isn't good for another. That was my N=1 point which is slightly different to his. I'm also pretty sure some people need medication alongside LC in order to optimise all round health. I know of at least one very well known member who takes that approach. When or if I need oral medication I'll take it happily rather than letting LC purity cause problems.Ianspur thank you for that really informative and helpful video link it has reinforced what I have been trying to get across to my diabetic GP all along, it’s what foods you eat that controls diabetes not medication for type2 diabetics . Thanks @ianpspurs.Loving the humour and that could well be the thread signature/ school song. Hope all goes well with the new Dr next week.
What a wonderful thing to do - personal illustrated history. This will be such a treasure. The word Bromley above the tent, is that the Bromley in Kent? Is there another? My father lived there for a while just after I joined the army at aged 15. The only thing I can remember about it is a bookshop where I bought a copy of Le Morte d'Arthur by Thomas Malory - my son now has it.
No, it’s not the same for everyone but we can be thankful for what we have. Wonderful that you have now met someone who you can truly partner with. Take care.Dunelm thank you its hard sometimes on here writing about what life throws at you but I get really uneasy when what I need to do to help myself like breaks away are not achievable by everyone, I feel uncomfortable wondering what people think. But I’ve not always been in this more fortunate state, it’s just I’ve been able to work most of my life and make my life I have now better than when I actually was homeless with 3 Children at one time for nearly a year. So I do know life can be extremely hard but I’ve always been a fighter I won’t be beaten by illness people problems I have to fight my way out of it.
And through out my younger life it’s how I always had to be. But on meeting my now husband we work together not one pulling one way and the other pulling against you, we have a comfortable life but has I said we worked **** hard for what we have. But I know it’s not the same for everyone…K

looking good for my next HbA1c
Not so good otherwise, seems in attempting to avoid T2 have given myself liver issues. Now off the wine for 6 weeks until I see doc again.Am obviously going to have to rethink diet, and alcohol.
Three weeks in UK, incapacitated for about ten days, then grandkids got covid, so only saw them at my father's funeral and for about an hour on the way to the ferry.
Glad to be home again, but found leaving Mum on her own really difficult.
Will read back a few pages try and catch up a bit.
Hugs @SlimLizzyQuick update.

Hug is required,
A basket of hugs (instead of grapes) for you (but the blue guy looks a little cross....)

Not good. Not good at all. I had a zoom meeting with our PPG (Practice Patients Group) yesterday. If it’s any consolation, most GP surgeries seem to be straining at the seams and at the same time there is a marked increase in demand. However, admin sounds like it sucks. All the best with the meds. Can you send in requests online to have pain meds added to your repeat prescription list?

Ate a bit too much nice stuff yesterday as I was drawing my illustrations!
Sigh...
I will spare you the pile of pencil illustrations I did for my memoirs
But instead, I give you...
'Every cat in the neighbourhood visited me in the potting shed yesterday'.
But they did visit independently of each other, not in one go!
And even the tom cat who attacked Popeye well over a year ago and was at least in part responsible for his downhill in health, visited me. It looks like someone took him in, cared for him, gave him the treatment he needed, and the love he needed, and he is in beautiful condition now, and has a lovely electric blue collar. This stray cat had attacked me too, and I had chased him away to protect Popeye. (Yes I did report this cat to the RSPCA but it was at the beginning of Covid lockdowns and they were not doing anything at all for stray cats at that time).
I told him yesterday I had forgiven him, and I have, but because I spoke, his eyes widened, and he turned tail and ran. He'll be back

Good that you have found a level of carbs that you can live with. Hug for Mr K and the dogs but it just had to be done.4.9 this morning. Had been experimenting with higher carbs (30g a day) and blood sugars were good. However have now dropped back to 20g a day and blood sugars have been exceptionally good.
It is really wet here. Mr K took the dogs for their walk and got absolutely soaked while I relaxed in the warm with a coffee.
