Hope your doing ok karen8967 K
Not been on for a few days been very busy getting out and about just anywhere has long has it was out travelling, family problems I need to deal with but the stress it caused is just too much, so the fight or flight situation it causes for me it’s flight can’t take the heat so I get out of the situation, hubby knows how to get me to calm down so we went out everyday from Sunday onwards. No time to stop and think just busy myself with doing other things away from the situation that causes me anxiety and stress, but I’m feeling much calmer now. BG this morning was 7.3 when I got out of bed then 6.8 before breakfast forgot to test after this. K

Very tired and cold this morning, indeed lost most of the day to dozing on the settee Huddled under a fleece blanket.
09.03 woke middle of the night, far too hot.
Got up for a while. 4.45AM FBG 6.1.
Eventually went back to bed, but forgot FBG when I got up for the second time.
Productive morning. More digging in the veg patch and today planted some very weedy looking cauliflower and cabbages.
Was hoping to rake and seed, but common sense said stop now.

Hugs @SlimLizzy
The weather is very cold and bitter today.
You worked hard in the veg patch.
I am glad you stopped to rest...

Going to bed and to sleep now.
Been out all day in this bitter cold wind.
Met my friend in England where just about everyone was maskless. Even my friend doesn't wear a mask now (easier for me because I can lipread now, but doesn't make me feel safer knowing she hasn't been wearing it since we last met).
Shortages on the food shelves.
But not in 'The Works'. Craft stuff galore, shelves full of books, paints, brushes, paper, sketchbooks, canvases, pens, pencils, rubbers, little wood boxes, and I had a field day.
But it is not something I can eat...
Now back home in Wales where just about everyone is still wearing masks.
A lot of warming up for me to do.
Electric blanket on.

But I still need to go out and place those barking sensor alarms...

Hugs @SlimLizzy

Stopped digging, but carried on inside, stuff needs doing, but not heavy work.
Tomorrow we are going to get some new to us furniture to provide storage in one of the spare bedrooms. It hasnt been needed before as all previous guests have stayed only a few weeks at most.

Hi jjraak Thank you for the virtual hug, I have to find ways to deal with it or it’s a lose lose all round it started about 3years ago a family member again really took advantage of our generosity in a big way, then Covid followed I isolated myself for 22months never went through the door. So frightened of catching it but slowly to start with I went out for a walk to begin with now I find it’s my way of getting through it all, I used to do hill and fell walking Nordic walking and walking around our borough, lovely canal walks woodland walks I miss it all. Now it’s trips out in the car to places we love to go to staying over sometimes or out along the coast in Lytham, Southport the Lake District etc.can’t do much more lots of seating to rest up and cafes to have a coffee has i am waiting for an XRay on my very swollen knees, oh the delight’s of growing old.
Take care of yourself and have a great day we are off to a couple of garden centres today looking to change our front garden this year so we need more shrubs and tropical palms to completely change the look of the garden.
Before i forget my BG this morning was 6.6
I will get back to better control and that will signify calm and less stress in my life more coping with it all then it’s a Win Win.K

Doc appt this morning, am hoping for clear communication as her English is only marginally better than my French.
Other news MrSlim has finished the family bathroom and is now attempting same with the ensuite. He is hampered by the demands of work, (paid work) and has a persistent problem with tennis elbow. One bolt(?) cannot be tightened enough to stop leaks because it is made of some kind of soft plastic, so we are waiting for a replacement part in brass. Then the fun of fitting the shower door begins.
Shopping today as well as furniture collection. We are down to the last inch of milk !

Good morning everyone from under a dazzling pink and red sky over the sea here in the dark and dangerous north
Fancied boiled eggs but we currently don’t have a working kitchen - can you boil eggs in a Ninja air fryer - yes you can! Lowest setting on mine is 150ºC - pre heat - eggs in for 5 minutes - plunge into cold water - peel - job done. I shall play around with the time. Donated things on a list to a local collection point. Vehicle leaving for Poland on Saturday but could it be better to donate money online to charities already embedded in Poland such as the International Red Cross, UNICEF et al? Money for vehicle and fuel could be saved and donated instead. Will random vehicles arriving in Poland not cause those on the ground logistics problems sorting out contents of vehicles? I ask because I have worked for NGO’s in East Africa and helped to build bore holes in Malawi and money on the ground is better than fuel for transport over long distances. I don’t know so have done both.
Art bit - fancied opening some tubes and seeing how the colours blend - So, The Ship Inn at Saltburn-by-the-sea. Hope you all have a smashing day - I am excitedly looking forward to the parade of the bin lorry but first I must make koffy.

Last night I set up my dog barking driveway sensor in the back garden, after gennepher's cat diner had closed for the night.

I was unhappy because Shadow turned up late, after dark, for her food, and couldn't understand why I did not go out with wet food for her. I felt bad the other cats are being penalised because of Foxy Loxy.

I told Shadow that gennepher's cat diner would open again at first light this morning. And indeed she came out of the undergrowth at first light, greeting me with miaows and rubbing against my legs. She will allow me to stroke her, but any attempt by me to pick her up, she turns into a wild thing. She had 3 bowls of food. There will be more wet food put out in half an hour when I have finished writing this.

Anyway, you might want to know what happened about the dog barking driveway alert alarm?

Simple answer, I cannot tell you as I do not wear my hearing processor in the night!

But I set my iPad, and also an app on my Pixel phone, to time and describe all the noises in my garden in the night.

The iPad has a fondness for telling me that glass is breaking every few minutes. It does this in the bungalow as well. You would think that every burglar was in this neighbourhood from the information from the iPad. But it did also tell me when a 'dog' barked, and when a 'cat' miaowed. Among other noises. The Pixel phone corroborated the information on the iPad, apart from the 'glass breaking' which the iPad is obsessed with.

So, I can confidently tell you that there was barking in my garden in the night according to my pixel phone and the iPad.

And when I looked out at first light, nothing had been moved by Foxy Loxy, nothing stolen, and no fresh stinky fox scent, no bulbs dug up or moved.

I think the dog barking driveway sensor worked last night.

It will be going in my garden tonight, after I have recharged it, in a slightly different position.

Creative today. Alas not the kaleidoscope you were hoping for, but a cartoon of Foxy Loxy and what he had been hoping for from my garden last night...

Got to dash.

Stuff to do.

Ideas to carry out.

Writing to do.

And stray cats to feed...

Have a coffee!

WOW WOW WOW for the painting @dunelm
I love the intensity of the colours.
Brilliant painting.
Uplifting!

You say in your post...
"Will random vehicles arriving in Poland not cause those on the ground logistics problems sorting out contents of vehicles?"
I had not considered that before.
Yes it seems to me it would. But people try to help in any way they can...even if it might not be for the best. It could waste valuable resources at that end. It is a difficult problem...

Smashing and it looks like you may have a solution to Foxy Loxy - love the illustration to the tale. Nicely done.

Oh thank you @gennepher and so pleased that you like it. Yes, a difficult situation on the ground and people do really want to help in any way that they can.

Lovely artwork. I do agree that perhaps donating money online might be the better option.
