What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Meter readings - good and bad here. Before you panic maybe read the last sentence. JKP was all relax, we got this.
Check the settings on your smart meter as some only update once a month so may have missed data. Ours updates daily.

Quick update

FBG this morning 8.1
Anxiety, poor sleep..who knows, but not fretting over it .

Appointment, delayed as I said earlier .

Never saw the Mr, saw another plastic surgeon, obviously under pressure to clear the decks, so limited time to discuss .

All going well I'm told
Very happy with healing & progress

Had to ask, for my age group , how many (ball park) go on to full ish mobility & how long until that happens

(Just put the healing time in perspective..
16+ weeks and struggle walking, and left hand barely at 50%.)

Told many don't fully recover, so don't expect 100‰ which I guessed
But 50‰ take up to TWO years to get to that level ,

Knocked me for 6.

Not a personal prediction, many variables she said, at my shock, but yeah, it's going to take a long time .

Asked about moving/ referral to more local hospital

Physio fine, but it's my nearest major trauma unit, so NO, I won't get my care transferred elsewhere.
New word to me now defined as Polytrauma patient .
So that's that.

Oh well, at least I know.

So home, ate, slept
Now wide awake at the wrong end of the day .

See ya all tomorrow afternoon

Lots and lots of hugs @jjraak

Cheers @gennepher .

I know you and others have had your own trials, so those kind words, have extra meaning xx

A late night for you ?
Or just heading off to bed .

Even more lots and lots of hugs @jjraak
You are going to have to believe in the impossible then, if that is doc's prediction. That is what I would be doing...once I had scraped myself off the floor at that kind of news.

Late night for me @jjraak ...didn't mean to but disappeared down an Ancestry rabbit hole...researching my ancestors, and trying to figure stuff out. Done a lot of figuring out....laying ghosts to rest....

Well..,that sounds like a valuable use of your time .

Hope it not only lays a few ghosts to rest, but it soothes and eases your mind

It is....

Sleep well when you lay your head down to rest...

Thank you @ianpspurs - and yes, it does look a bit Fen like.

Cry freedom! Oh, but only after the laundry is done.

Breakfast - usually skipped but let’s call it second breakfast - late, or call it early lunch or elevanses. Whatever - it’s late and usually a full English without the toast. Beans and hash browns have no place in a full English - it’s bacon, sausage, black pudding, eggs and tomatoes out of a tin - not some insipid raw pink thing. Oh do be quiet.

It’s the age of the train and the leaves on the line unfortunately and I fee for your frustration. My mitochondria has turned into a right bunch of skivers. Take it easy.

Good morning everyone on an undecided start here in the dark and dangerous north. Clouds of all shades from white to black and little hints of blue every now an then. Still, it’s all fools day so no going out until well past noon - put those harlequin tights away boy and stop jangling the bells on that hat. Photo shoot went well yesterday. Four splendid shots - two for each eye and this time, no need for repeats due to eyes misbehaving. Sent my gas and electric readings in yesterday afternoon to avoid the rush. Mind you, I always carry out that task on the last day of the month.
A 19 year old has won the National Poetry Competition - you can read it at the bottom of this page: https://www.writeoutloud.net/public/blogentry.php?blogentryid=121737
Girl in the bubble today - mum usually does not go into work on Fridays but they are merging with another precision engineering company so management is working very hard shuffling bits of paper and trying to look serious.
Art bit - a bit more colour. May your April be a good one and remember, stressed spelled backwards is dessert! Must get some koffy on the go.

Greetings all on this first day of a new month. Cold and dull here, the weather you cheeky people. Swipey initially offered 5.1 which isn't what I want and would almost certainly have dropped. Interestingly it always does if taken after a comfort break but today is SSSF (Super Salmon Salad Friday) and I'll spend time with both grandsons so God has blessed me enough thanks. @jjraak hug for the impact of the answer to your question but always best to know imho. @dunelm thanks for the answer to the breakfast question. I used to really enjoy such meals - I really, really don't do black pudding, massively over seasoned - but T2 has mostly killed that (and so much more) off. I now wait till Dockey time (11.00 am, usually >5 hrs from start) for something small and a CWC - (coffee with cream - 20 mls). I will thank you and @gennepher now for sharing your amazing creative gifts. Stay safe.

Fbg 6.7

Cold, wintry, sleet, hailstones, snow, the whole wintry stuff in weather yesterday.
Felt lethargic and sleepy. But as soon as night falls, my brain wakes up. Hey, we are going to do some Ancestry research, it said. And so I did until gone midnight...and the Sandman forgot to visit...

Cat diner is in full swing. Shadow was first, and now Biscuit. Usually Manky Ginger gets in before Biscuit, but not this morning. I must think of another name for Manky Ginger, because over the last year he has been filling out, and is not the skinny thing he once was. He is starting to look like a handsome ginger cat now. He is a very large cat.

Oops, Mr Blackbird is telling Biscuit to leave some biscuits for him, and Biscuit has taken the hint. Now Mr Blackbird is helping himself to cat biscuits...

Creative kaleidoscope in Laboscope. It is the same thing I pointed it at in yesterday's kaleidoscope, but at a different angle. I don't know what created the yellow, but it was pointed at the clematis, where Mr&Mrs Blackbird have their des res, and the sky.
Then Procreate to do Popeye, and Snapseed to do name and frame.

Coffee and a cuppa tea next...

I love the way you do this splash of colour @dunelm

Glad eye photo shoot went well

@jjraak It is good that your doctor was truthful. I suspect that the people who take up to two years to get to that level are not actually persevering with their physio exercises and are not like you - determined to recover.

I also had a very truthful doctor 17:years ago after a RTA. He admitted that my knee would not achieve a 100% recovery and told me that if I did my exercises I would never see him again but if I didn't do them I would be seeing him very soon for further surgery. Also, because of the damage, I would need to do the exercises forever.
