What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

An annoying flaw in the heat/cooling system, @ianpspurs .....I felt the cold more after LCHF, can't say I really noticed my heat exchanger being any better or worse .

As for preference, as a biker (ex ?)
I'd say rain..dislike it most

Everything else I can prepare for and even the very best (and very ££££) had a way of allowing rain to spoil a ride ..imho

But walking in a rain shower. ..one of life's more pleasurable annoyances ..

Interesting post on the Queen..be reading later.

Good news about appointment going so well
Rarely is the term Angel more applicable with the extra mile so many go for us, when in need.

Proof if proof was needed, were not a planet full of uncaring oafs.

We just need to scratch that outer shield life sometimes makes us wear, to see the goodness of our true nature just waiting under the surface.

Hope today's more relaxing

A BIG Plus 1, for midnight being a surprisingly joyous addition to the "Garden Magic Show with Genn "

I can't prove it, obviously, but I become more convinced with each post, that the spirit of Popeye had seen two needs, and guided him to you .

Long may the friendship last .

A good afternoon from snorlax.

Naw, I was up Waaay too earlier doing deliveries to the Airport , to whit Lauren & one bff .

Journey time OUT of London a delightful 30± minutes (good tailwind )

Ladies dropped, the less abled remained in the car very reluctantly

But good deed done & a feeling of worth and of some use, restored..I exited the melee of traffic stage right

On TS2..(train strike deux ) I joined all the other metal beetles creeping slowly slowly INTO town, like a carpet of petrol driven locusts

Devouring every spare inch of empty road space as we inched closer & closer to our target.
LONDON..

Fanned out from the airport, we grouped together and became one spearhead with one goal

Getting to work ..or home, obv.

Outward bound flight 30 mins
Inward bound.......HOUR...Plus 32 minutes

home, sore but pleased with myself.

No BG, tea and a bite before I even though if it, then I remembered that advert
"have u had insufficient stress today..?...try some now, does wonders internally & give yourself that high BG for a refreshing lift"

So seemed pointless.

But did get confirmation that ladies are on flight. Masked , smiling and winging their way to all things Carribbean.

So all is good in Da Hood, Mon Amigos

Hope the day is half as good for you all

I'll try on another device later, @gennepher but the links are broken for me on my droid phone

Thanks and today is more relaxing ( so hungry) although yesterday was much better than anticipated. As for heat/cold/wet - I really resent even wearing trousers and socks never mind putting on a sweater as per @dunelm. Can't begin to describe how close to spontaneous combustion walking in even a shower makes me. I am genuinely likely to buy all three of these for autumn and winter - to wear indoors - possibly all at once: a; b; c. May help if LC hot food wasn't awful

Yes you are right @ianpspurs - the stress yesterday is highly likely to have elevated my blood sugars, especially as the carbs were actually quite low.

Hi @Krystyna23040
No, that is not a whinge.
It is a time waster which eats into your previous flow/good mood, and it is difficult to put the day back on track.
Have a productive day today and on Friday.
Yes, that is so true @gennepher. I was literally 'tearing my hair out' yesterday. Luckily today has been really productive and I have completed my admin in record time. I feel much more relaxed today knowing that I can concentrate on my classes later today and my course tomorrow.

Yes @jjraak a shocking way to run a company. Today was has turned out to be a much better day.

I felt a sympathetic glance & a sage like nod was the correct response...

But the written tone & description, that went out the window as I chuckled..." all 3 at once "

That sleeping bag onsie, an interesting concept

Zip on feet for indoors, they really have thought that through.

Slight different note
I stop at Laurens bff house to cat sit

I scoffed at the heated blanket Lauren raves about when she's there

Recent visit, being more vigilant of wasting her electric etc

I didn't have heat on .( nice warm days on the whole)

But late evening I felt the chill
And heating being up the dreaded energy sapping stairs. ...it was easy to reach for the blanket and switch that on for a bit.

Quite impressed.
Quickly warmed me up, enough I could remove after a short time until I felt the chill again

Might be buying one for Lauren come winter .mmh

Enjoy your day

I have an electric throw, a single sized one @jjraak
It uses next to none electricity.
It wasn't until I had the smart meter installed earlier this year, that I realised it was actually only the pennies it said it cost to run.

That will be my winter heat warmth this year...

Fbg 6.5

Too hot yesterday. Midnight felt the heat very early (as did I), and by around 9 am, he was nowhere to be seen. I searched the garden, I couldn't find him anywhere. I was a bit worried I admit, because I am certain he has never left my garden at all in about 3 weeks, at least. It is his choice. He can easily leap up to get out, just like all the other cats that enter and leave my garden. But I feel he is safe within my garden.

Anyway, Mr Magpie came in, looks for Midnight on the swing, doesn't see him there, so he is then angrily squawking his head off. Mr Magpie's head bobs up and down, high and low looking for Midnight. He got angrier and angrier. I have no idea why. The cat food diner was easily available to him, albeit only cat biscuits by this time. Mr Magpie searched my garden high and low for Midnight, and was getting more and more furious. Finally Mr Magpie landed on the arm of a plastic garden chair (he had decided to go for the cat biscuits, but he will feed from them even if Midnight is immediately above him on the swing seat) I had been sitting on earlier, but when I pushed it back, it was only balancing on 3 legs. The chair lurched as Mr Magpie landed, and he nearly fell on the path. Absolutely furious he flew off making loud screeching noises. He didn't get any breakfast because he frightened himself. Presumably seeing no obvious cats in a normally cat filled garden, was a more terrifying prospect than one cat looking directly above you, barely a couple of hand widths away?

Midnight reappeared about 3 pm, and was in his usual cool place.

Creative is Speedwell. There are loads of these these tiny blue flowers on my garden path. And the silhouettes, with Mr Magpie screeching...

Like most of you in the U.K. (I expect), it was too hot to sleep last night properly. All the usual strategies to no avail.

Time for a cuppa.

Corvids are usually pretty smart - your visitor may be on the Corvid special needs register and certainly down for anger management. Smashing art work, purples then greens, spiraling downwards.

Good morning everyone from the heat of the night, not the Virgil Tibbs version. Fan on all night but what we really need is one of Elizabeth Taylor’s extras from the film Cleopatra with a large palm frond. Or a punkhawallah. Times are hard, nothing that devours watts. Handy Andy round yesterday sorting out a list of jobs conferred upon him by Mrs Miggins that included the hanging of a very heavy oak framed (and backed) mirror - what fun we had. Lots of sawing, banging and drilling noises and by 4pm, Bob’s your uncle and whole host of fiddly jobs sorted.
Art bit - adding colour to the rocks from yesterday. Packing day today - we are traveling down to Folkestone tomorrow, through the tunnel early Sunday morning and then down to see my parents and other family members. Spray yourselves with water with a touch of lime cordial added to keep cool. The lime cordial does nothing to cool you but it keeps the flies away from everyone else. Must make koffy.

I cannot figure out this Magpie @dunelm
He is in need of some help...
Thanks for the creative compliment

Productive day yesterday @dunelm
Including the colour on your rocks...

Good morning all from the Exotic East on what promises to be another day where I just don't feel this so called hot weather but sympathise for those who struggle. I will concede that I am not wearing thermals and have dropped to a 10 tog duvet - for now. Thanks for the creative and observations on the wildlife @gennepher. Good news on Handy Andy (well remembered) and thanks for the art @dunelm. Have a safe, pleasant journey into France (and back in due course) and a wonderful time with parents and family. Today I shall be voting tactically by taking on board plenty of fluids, watching cricket and eating Salmon Salad. Not sure how one would celebrate a feast for John the Baptist on an Ember Day but I'm excused on medical grounds. Since it is A level season here’s a question from the A Level Millennial paper: Is Wellness, the new religion? Discuss.

Thanks @ianpspurs

4.8 this morning. I feel so relaxed this morning, knowing that all the admin is complete for the week.

Am really good looking forward to this mornings course. It will finish at 1pm and I can then have a relaxing afternoon before the evening classes. It is so good that I can do it on Zoom and not have to take the train to London.

An interesting article @ianpspurs.
