Great news about the careful grooming of Midnight. Smashing kaleidoscope, it looks so ‘outdoors’.Fbg 6.7
Yesterday, the small birds decided not to wait for Mrs Bluetit's call for the opening of the dating diner. They started appearing around 5:30 pm. The Little Dunnock was first, I am going to call it a 'she' for the moment, no way of telling if it is a boy or girl. There are crumbles of food from the suet fatballs for her. But no other Dunnocks appeared at the dating night last night. But she fed well. A young robin was next, a different one, he was a mess like the other one the previous night. His moulting feathers/adult coat at the front is an absolute disaster with feathers sticking out. Then the sparrows. Looked like a new lot. They did some chattering and introducing themselves. Mrs Bluetit came sweeping in them, surveyed them all, looked happy the way things were progressing, then in comes a vividly bright fresh looking male bluetit, he had scrubbed up well. And Mrs Bluetit approved, so they disappeared off instantly. There was another male robin. Then the robins and the sparrows left.and the little Dunnock is still feeding all alone from the ground....maybe the next night she will find someone.
Creative today is a kaleidoscope in Laboscope. In my bedroom again!
Ah, and Midnight now has a bald two inch patch of fur at the bottom of his spine just before his tail starts, because finally I have managed to shave that last bit of matted fur off with a metal tool that shaves off matted fur. I have been working the edges of it this the last two weeks so this tool could get under it to get it off in one swipe. Midnight has been saying the last few days, if you advance on me one more time with those metal tools I am going to shred you into pieces. But when I did the final act of getting that dead fur this morning with the shaving tool, Midnight did not say a word, did not shred me, and actually looked relieved that it was off.
A nice hot cuppa needed now...

The weather is dull as dishwater here @dunelmGood morning everyone from within the gloom that is the dark and dangerous north - maybe it will pick up later. Girl in the bubble yesterday who announced on arrival that her and her gran had been shopping. “Did you have a nice time?”- “Yes”. “Did you get some nice things?” - “Yes”. “What did you get?” - “I don’t know”. So. Only two questions permissible then. Why is it that smoke alarms always seem to begin the 45 second interval chirps to indicate low battery at 2am? Maybe they are resigning, it’s all the rage but you do need to have skimmed loads off the upper section of the gold top and it helps if you can pretend to live in the USA or perhaps India for most of the year. Stop! Enough of that, you will end up working for Nippy Krankenstein north of the wall. Art bit - something I started yesterday. Hope you are all as well as you can be. I must now go and make koffy.

Hi @ianpspursGood morning all on the day after. Quite a dull start here so good job I invested in a fetching Day-Glo pink summer jumper when all Superdry clothes were being virtually given away back in The Old Country. By God's grace everything on my To Do list was To Done Yesterday so I will make another one - minus cricket watching and grandchildren minding. @gennepher thanks for the tales of romance in your garden. Mrs Bluetit seems rather free with her favours. Thanks for the kaleidoscope - I appreciate the skill involved but can't warm to the colour palette today. @dunelm hug for #firealarmgate and the difficult interrogation of TGIB. Have yourselves a safe day. Me? I'm off to find manufacturers of integrity and cures for self-loathing. I've spotted a huge market opportunity with a very limited window of opportunity.
Thank you for both kaleidoscopes. I need to move out of my comfort zone at times and if the colours of No 1 are calming to you that is all that matters.Hi @ianpspurs
Mrs Bluetit seems to be trying out before she says that all important 'Yes'. She wants to make sure her prospective partner tick all the boxes....
Sorry you didn't like the colours of this morning's kaleidoscope.
I took two. And worked on two. The one I chose was calming for me.
This is the other one. It was taken in the same lighting conditions so it may not rock your boat either...

Good morning everyone, can’t possibly catch up but a belated happy birthday to @gennepher. The trip round the M25 yesterday morning was interesting, electric scooters would surely be a better bet than even a small Smart car. Still, after 1847 miles, we are now home. Girl in the bubble to pick up from nursery at 1130 and the wheels of our normality keep on turning. Hope you are all reasonably well. We did think of bringing you some garlic but the thought of breathing garlic air all the way home put us off. Koffy, I need to add it to the shopping list.

Ouch for the low start @alf_JosiahMorening, sorry but a bit against the clock this morning.
A hmmm 4.9 this morning grrr
@gennepher nice art work and it’s nice to see @dunelm back posting his artwork also.
Now sorry but I must depart to real life and not electronic life.
Stay safe, avoid covid, monkey pox and imploding Tory MPs, sorry all politicians, oh and the toxic media.
Such a positive turn aroundThank you @jjraak . Am definitely in a better place now. Where I run my classes in Norwich is on the A140 Ipswich Road and emergency vehicles fly up and down it several times a day. In the end.I was able to focus on the fact that the sound of the sirens meant that someone in trouble was going to be rescued and the flashbacks gradually got less and less.

And some much needed hugs for you @jjraakA few rough days.
BG not been top of my To Do's.
Saw Independent specialist other day
Outlined he expects consultant to either
Wait, see if it heals
Or
Reverse operation and reinsert new titanium rod.
Saw Consultant today
Plan is to WAIT.
"These things can take a year to heal."
"Back in 3 months"
"Steady as she goes"
Happy with that.
That sounds like a very good plan and really good that you are happy with it.A few rough days.
