What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hope you have a lovely day with your family @ianpspurs

Thank you @ianpspurs
I Google poop identification...very enlightening...

Maybe it's me who needs nursery to visit

Was very sure it was you.

Atomic Habits by James clear..

Apologies if someone else offered the book.

Off to search now, for my own sanity.
I believe it might have been a certain Spurs follower @jjraak
Because I looked it up too...

Congratulations where required, hugs where required, commiserations if required if attending full on sun BBQ’s this afternoon.

Blood sugars were 4.5 grrr
Back later in the day. Hopefully.

Oh for the life in the open road.

Loving you got out, and corralled a few sneaky sarnies

Appreciate the works, but very impractical for London street...no chance of filtering, and can't see one of those fitting in any M/Cycle bay I've ever seen..

However for those who might need such a bike, bravo..great workmanship AND mobility..

What's not to like

More pics of your outings, if you don't mind, @alf_Josiah ....very much like

Hi.
North Cumbria.25deg C this pm and that is usually as hot as it gets. Still cool in downstairs bedrooms but will be interesting to see what Tuesday does.

I am thinking about my son in law in York having to be out all day as a postie if it gets to 40 Deg C there.

Derek

Not very pleasant at all for your son in law. Hope he is OK tomorrow.

I wouldn't expect postie to do walking and hand deliveries through letter boxes in excesses of heat, that we are not used to. There should be some kind of back up with water supplies, for example.
The route is all up and down hills where I live.

Herewith a reason why not to perform semi complex tasks with low blood sugars.
Enjoy a laugh at my expense.

Brailsford's Marginal Gains or Dr Bernstein's Law of small numbers. Btw, I can and do advise that for others but ....... I guess being born on June 19th makes one different

Aha....the guilty party was I suggest ....

@ianpspurs ...in the study, using either a candlestick or a book ...(cluedo)

A dogged niggling in my brain...
Kept me looking for the book link

And I found it
Bottom of Ian's link

James clear
Author of Atomic Habits

Cheers @ianpspurs ...I can now rest the bloodhounds

I looked for ages too @jjraak but gave up in the heat of the day...

17.07.
My parents wedding anniversary yesterday Its a difficult day for Mum. They were married for 66 years.
A day of high FBG (6.3 ), temperature (39°C), bad news and dramatic faintings.
Disregarding guidelines for keeping safe in hot weather can be fatal.
A 42 year old distant relative of MrSlim had a heart attack after a boozy party last night and died this morning. A similar thing happened to MrSlims brother at about the same age.
Our house guest, also suffered from the heat, having had an energetic water pistol fight with her daughter in the afternoon and not drinking enough to compensate.
I really thought she was going to need hospital treatment for a while, but an hour of gentle sponging down with cool, but not cold water, and insisting she drink every time she came round and after a short sleep, she has recovered enough to have sharp words with her teenage son, although she is still alarmingly wobbly. Remember we have an ancient house with uneven curved stone stairs, a fall would almost certainly lead to significant injury.
Tomorrow is going to be even hotter, but I doubt if she will be sunbathing...i made peach flavoured tea to have over ice, but we are all out of ice cream cones and I suspect the shops will be too.
Hope you are all managing to keep cool and safe out of the sun.
@ianpspurs thanks for posting the useful chart on heat related problems.
@gennepher lovely paintings, how wonderful that your daughter shares your artistic nature.
@Krystyna23040 glad to read Poppy is doing well after her dental treatment.

Hugs @SlimLizzy for such a stressful difficult day in many ways.
I hope your house guests are sensible tomorrow.
I am taking it very easy, loads of fluids!
Thank you for the painting compliments.
Now you take care tomorrow as best you can x

@SlimLizzy I do hope that your houseguest is more sensible today. Thank goodness you were there to look after her yesterday.
