I often have thought...How much P.T.F.E. do we consume in a lifetime and is it harmful? It is, of course, when it's burnt!

My diabetic appointment went well. I had my feet checked for loss of feeling but most things were ok.
We had a good chat about family and it was a good appointment. Her son took the same subjects in 6th form as Dylan is.
I thought it an odd mix.

Our previous Labrador Saffy was exactly the same as your Belles.

Archie is quite an unusual dog. He absolutely loves fireworks and thunderstorms. Poppy is a much more nervous dog and it was great that he taught her that fireworks and thunderstorms were great fun and nothing to be scared of.

He also taught her that when they were both wanting to come back into the house - she was the one that had to bark. It is as though he is thinking 'why have a dog and bark yourself '

Yes, it definitely knew that I was in a hurry this morning. I looked at it again in my lunch break and it was working perfectly.

Delivery arrived safely late morning. Mr K took delivery of it.

Good morning everyone on another dull yet promising start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Had a lovely walk yesterday; into the woods and followed the flow of the beck to the hidden Victorian tea room for koffy. Then, continuing through the woods and down to the sea - into The Ship for lunch - one hour wait - just drinks then. Over the the funicular to ride up the cliff and then through the town and back home. Just the one meal then. Girl in the bubble stayed over last night - her mood gauge, once she wakes, will dictate the rest of the morning. Art bit - some shading. Hope your day is kind to you. Best make some koffy - quietly.

Going down...

I had a falling out with Midnight at tea time yesterday.

I was trying to fill the cat dishes for their supper, but Midnight was doing his usual sitting in front of my feet every few seconds as I am trying to walk. I am in danger of tripping over that cat. So I had to nudge him gently with my foot (which I have done before and he has just moved, but not so last night). He savagely went for my foot (which fortunately had my new very thick black clogs on). I shouted NO. He ran away but immediately came back. I still needed to finish the cat bowls, and I needed to finish filling the bird feeders for morning without tripping over. So I said SHOO and waved him away with the back of my hands (which I have never done before). Midnight recoiled in shock and horror as though I had done something very terrible and ran away. I couldn't find him.

I then felt bad for saying shoo to him, because of his extreme reaction. Anyway I fished my bits and pieces, made a cuppa, and settled on the swing (with my mobile) for a long wait. I couldn't go to bed with him upset, and I was upset too. Finally Midnight was sitting at the end of the garden looking at me. I went back to my phone. Next time I looked up he was sitting on a garden chair a wee bit nearer to me. And so this went on for the next hour. Then I looked up and he was sitting on the ledge at the other side of the swing, but his back was to me. I went back to my phone, not ignoring him, but just watching YouTube (by the way, it was streaming direct to my cochlear processor, so Midnight wouldn't have known there was any sound from it). Next time I looked up he was on the swing, still his back was to me. I put the phone down and waited. His head turned round and he looked at me. So he came up to me, put a paw on my leg, so I stroked him. Then he put his head down on my leg and shut his eyes, and purred.

He needed to do this in his own time.

Something has upset him badly in the past, I am assuming, maybe his owner from a long time ago did something like that, and it went wrong and he left home? I can only guess.

Creative today is a photo of a contented Midnight immediately after he put his head on the leg.

A cuppa now. The ice maker is already churning out ice...


 
Good morning one and all on a Summer Breeze (lyrics) Sunday here in the junction between The Fens and The Brecks. Since anyone who posts has made it through the night thanks and praise be to whoever and/or whatever you think deserves them. Y'all know where mine go but your mileage is obviously perfectly free to vary. @dunelm thanks for the art and that ramble yesterday sounds delightful and implies the back was well behaved. I hope those recovering from long or short term health or injury issues are in as fine fettle as possible. Enjoy the day safely with respect and care for every one else.

Good morning all. Up with the birds this morning. fbs at 5.30am was 13.4. Abdominal pain may be a contributing factor. A lovely poached egg and peppermint tea for breakfast made by Mr. D.has helped. The sun is emerging here in the midlands accompanied by a fine misty drizzle so a positive outlook for the rest of the day. Enjoy your Sunday everyone.
 
The hug is for the obvious sadness the falling out and reflection on previous mistreatment of Midnight caused. The reconciliation is wonderful news and the creative shows love and contentment all round. I'll also send a hug to @dogslife for the abdominal pain tempered by the excellent love and care from Mr D. Some very loving partners in this thread, human and non human.
