Thanks @ianpspurs
I appreciate that hug.
I think it is safe to say I have inconsiderate, disrespectful, callous, heartless neighbours either side of me, who think only of themselves. I was studying my thesaurus to find some savage words to describe both of them...but I failed...
How deep are the Fort Knox Fence guy's pockets?

Now, if only I could sell my bungalow to the neighbour from hell for both of them...unless I could turn into the neighbour from hell for both of them...now that's an idea...

Glad you liked the kaleidoscope.

You have a good day.
Oh you want a book called Chosen Words by Ivor Brown - some nice Anglo phrases in there.

Oooh what did I do? I bought a vegan meal from the Polish shop. I fancied a change in food. It was delicious. But too many carbs. Would I do this again? Yes! For an occasional treat.
Your meal sounded really delicious @gennepher. I have also decided to have occasional treats. When we go out for a meal, which is not that often, I am going to have 2 scoops of delicious ice cream.

A surprising 4.9 this morning. Pancreas and liver coped really well with the 2 scoops of ice cream yesterday. Have decided that a very occasional treat is OK. This is the only thread I would dare to admit this.

Family are leaving later today. It has been a lovely visit.

Oooh what did I do? I bought a vegan meal from the Polish shop. I fancied a change in food. It was delicious. But too many carbs. Would I do this again? Yes! For an occasional treat.

Yesterday Midnight was exploring my bungalow a lot. Then going back outside again. I always keep the kitchen door closed, and so when I open it, I find Midnight on the other side wondering what this big secret is.

I invited him in. And he explored it, found the broken cat flap from when Popeye was attacked. Midnight tried to push through, but it was taped up. I might have a go at repairing it just for Midnight to try it, but it wouldn't stand up for regular use, If he uses it, and can squeeze his portly belly through it, then I will get a new one, the same size, and that should be easy for me to install.

Anyway while Midnight was in the kitchen he watched me eat. His eyes opened wider. So I gave him a prawn. He liked it, his eyes open wider....more prawns. So he got half my prawns. And I had to look for something else for my breakfast.

I was having a nap later in the day in my bed. I open my eyes to find them staring into a pair of wide open eyes studying me. Midnight's paws were on the edge of my bed, raising him so he could see me. I have no idea what he was thinking, but it was as if he was saying why are you sleeping? Why should I not sleep as much as a cat does if I feel like it? It was a very warm still airless day. The air was thick, it was like breathing sticky fog.

Birdies - Little Miss now has two suitors who are rather intense. And Little Miss has no intention of having any babies this year. But the suitors are thinking otherwise...

At this minute the blackbirds are sounding the alarm call, but I cannot see any intruders.

Midnight and Jade have been fed. Jade was first in the queue this morning. The gingers have patrolled in. Little black cat Ammy has scootered in and out like a lightning flash. So I think that is the current lot of strays all fed for breakfast.

And I am thinking about my breakfast and a nap. It was hard sleeping last night despite having fans on and my mini personal humidifiers on.

So, creative this morning is a kaleidoscope in Laboscope pointed at my personal humidifier sending out mists of water droplets....

The small birds are a little quiet this morning...but they are feeding. I have my cochlear sound processor on, so far. Had to take it off again yesterday because of Fort Knox Fence neighbour's workmen's excessive noise. Yesterday their very long white van came in front of my driveway a little, so when I got back from the shops, that white van was there, and there must have been less than 2 inches clearance from my side mirror tips either side for me to back into my driveway. I could've gone round, but I was tired after food shopping and trying to get my meds which are missing all my eyedrops because they are apparently unobtainable, that I would have exploded if I had opened my mouth. I just needed to back into my driveway easily as is my right, get in and make a cuppa before I offloaded my shopping. The fresh stuff was in a cool bag. So, I just backed in. One of the workmen came out of his driveway and came round to check the back of his van. His sneering annoyed look said mind my van you decrepit old biddy, so I pressed the button to wind down my window, and gave him my best evil hex ridden witches death stare, and he shrivelled up and climbed into his van and shut the door. Then I proceeded to back in competently and went in....

Once, a few years ago, one of my then neighbours had lots of work done and one van had a habit of blocking my drive resulting in me having to ask for it to be moved each time I wanted to go out. I came back one day and there it was, blocking my drive. So, I just parked across the rest of the drive, parked within an inch of it and walked into town for some lunch. Interesting kaleidoscope.

Good morning everyone and welcome to another weekend of fun an laughter as footballers wives squander easy to come by cash by sniping at each other over the fence about nothing in particular. England v Germany tonight. I hope that they win. Lots going on around Birmingham and interesting times in that velodrome yesterday and Bermuda got a gold in the triathlon. No idea about today but I do love a mystery. Art bit, shading added so that’s another one finished as much as I want it to be. Hope everyone has a pleasant day, I shall make yet another koffy.

@gennepher We also have neighbours with deep pockets and interminable works but they are a short distance away so not nearly as great a disturbance Yet another new stray? Amy ? We dont seem to have any here. No Errant replacement waiting in the wings.
@jjraak so pleased to read of your progress. Somehow missed previous mentions of Marley. Is he a stray cat?

Meanwhile MrSlim has bought himself a new cement mixer. I am not sure why the old one was inadequate.... and started on repairing the pointing. This is going to take some weeks and will also be using some noisy equipment. A bit of tit for tat.
Today I plan to finish clearing out the rooms used by our houseguests and possibly some pulling out some unproductive vegetable plants. We also need to book passage to the UK.
Have managed two days out of three normal eating, NOT low carb. Maybe get back to that someday, first need to conquer overeating. I have gained nearly five kilos and am constantly bloated. This is a new experience for me as previously has been difficult to put on weight. Now I have taken to reading and overeating instead of the activity filled life I had before. Motivation is definitely lacking. I can see all the tasks that need doing - but simply can't be bothered.
Has anyone ideas as to how to get back to normal for me?

I might do something along those lines...I don't hear the doorbell if any one rings with having to take my processor out because of the noise...sometimes I don't come out for days...

That's something I have been trying to perfect @gennepher
Keep practicing @Krystyna23040
I do that to unsupervised children. It still works on very little ones that the mothers let run amok as they are sipping their designer coffee and tapping on their phones, and the little darling runs back to mother and tries to hide behind them. Then it becomes don't bother me darling, run and play kind of thing.

Older children, I now employ a reasoning that will get through to them, for at least that moment. Long enough for me to get the heck out of the place...

A new stray, yes @SlimLizzy
Popeye's mother was all black and called Amethyst but Ammy fot short. So I named this new one that!
You do need to give yourself some me time after your guests and recent events.
When I have lost my way a bit, and need to get back on track, and nothing is working, then I get a sheet of lined foolscap, clip it on to a board and write the date, Saturday today, a couple of the most important things that need to be done. And then a new list for tomorrow with three items on....and so on

Hugs for you x

I hope he went for an industrial diesel powered cement mixer - lovely sound. Not sure about getting out of the ‘can’t be bothered’ rut. Perhaps watch the England v Germany game.

Good morning or evening all perhaps even afternoon depending on your location, time of reading, functionality of the forum or your access device. Some more summer and sport here so glad that I live am I works for me again. @jjraak lovely post . @Krystyna23040 yesterday sounds wonderful if energetic and Friday is most always salmon salad day. Good on you for the ice cream treat. @gennepher another hug for the thoughtlessness of neighbours and their hired hands. Thank you for the wonderful kaleidoscope. @dunelm thank you for sharing your artistic gift. I fear you may have the wrong day for that particular foot-the-ball game but the EPL started last night and continues this very day. Why on earth would anyone want to stab a nine year old girl to death? Always something to "give one pause." On a lighter note, this , in The Guardian, made I larff: The Vardy Effect: Going to court to deny something a rock could see is true. Why/how is every "Celebrity" a Brand to be monetised therefore jealously guarded via litigation these days? Have a great day with as many scoops as you want. Where can I get Movenpick round here?

Oh yeh! Tomorrow - and tomorrow …. And that Vardy, it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Have you not registered your brand and protected your domain name? Never mind destiny Uhtred, The Brand is all. Nigel, Donald, Boris now Liz. All the substance of a Nouvell cuisine foam but such branding. Oh no, I've said too much, I haven't said enough.

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen and those who played hopscotch as a child and maybe still do.
A 5.6 on the meter this morning.
.
This Morening I went for a gentle jaunt on my motorcycle, I wanted to test a route out I hope to do next week with a bike riding neighbour, with a stop approximately halfway at the what is becoming a regular haunt. Here is the rather circular route through some nice rolling downland and the Savernake forest.
Tilehurst towers, Streatley, Newbury, Hungerford A4, Froxfield, Durley, Burbage and Choppers cafe on the A338. Very crowded. Then homewards via the A338 through the market town of Hungerford continuing on the A338 north to the market town of Wantage and the town square with King Alfred’s statue then back to Tilehurst Towers on the A417 and A329. Total distance of 91 miles. There is a huge bike meet at Calne this weekend which is not far away and quite a few bikers were calling in at Choppers cafe for a full on fry up on their way to Calne.
I’m posting the route for @jjraak and any others that want to get a map out. Motorbiking roads are generally a nightmare for car drivers.
Well fellow posters and painters stay safe and hopefully attached is a picture of the crowded cafe.
