What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

A funny for the t-shirt @alf_Josiah

I am fast coming to the conclusion that I live on the wrong side of the tracks...

Hello everyone on what seems to be a largely underwhelming Tuesday for the assembled multitude. @gennepher hug for the hideous shopping experiences. 0/10 for those but 15/10 for the kaleidoscope. Thanks for helping me define @dunelm's background colour. I would never have picked yellow. Your tomatoes are absolutely yellow to me, that colour never (sludge?). @dunelm thanks for the art and hug for the too early waking but at least it isn't deepest, darkest, coldest winter. @Krystyna23040 hug for the higher fbg and tiredness. You may feel your age but a fiver says you don't look anywhere near and have more energy than someone 25 years younger. Somehow fitbit feels I was 349 active minutes down last week but my resting heart rate dropped a beat. I hope you had a wonderful time on the motorbike yesterday @alf_Josiah. Just remember we are living the dream. Anyone saying otherwise is just remoaning. All the big calls were made correctly and the world is our Lobster. Nonetheless it may just be prudent to take care and weigh the evidence carefully as history may be more felicitous to the facts.

Thanks @ianpspurs for the kaleidoscope compliment.

Oh such a disappointing search for a decent farm shop but some lovely tomatoes

I only have one iron, the Art iron, wax and goodness knows what on it. I could iron a piece of paper and it would paint its own painting @dunelm

I love the finished treatment of this painting.
The yellow for background is perfect to me....
Thank you @gennepher - wonder if you should dig out that iron and see what it comes up with.

Thanks @ianpspurs and I shall keep that in mind when it is deepest, darkest, coldest winter and I have to light the fire at 5am and then hold a sheet from some posh newspaper against the fireplace to get it going.

Good morning all. What interesting lives we all lead. My HbA1c result came back as 77mm/l. I think that equates to 9.2 in old money but am not sure. Anyway I had a message from the GP surgery asking me to make an appointment with a doctor to discuss my results. I rang to do so and was given the first available routine telephone appointment in 2 weeks time but it was suggested that if I logged into Patient Access at 8.30am each morning I could book one earlier subject to availability. I did so this morning but there was no equivalent telephone options just face to face ones which I had presumed were emergency ones for people who are ill. I booked one for 3pm this afternoon. For some reason I feel quite nervous as my journey has been complicated, including the addition of several new medications for other conditions, and the 10 minute appointment seems very short to ensure he takes it all into account when prescribing me new medication. My cholesterol level has also increased but I have proved intolerant to all statins and equivalents so prefer to concentrate on reducing my blood sugar levels as they can cause more damage than cholesterol imo. Sorry to drone on but I really hate feeling out of control and am becoming unusually anxious.

On a lighter note we were expecting the delivery of some patio furniture at 12 o'clock. Just after breakfast Mr. D decided to nip out to get some basic food shopping whilst I had my shower so we would be ready for when it arrived. I was just about to go for my shower when the doorbell rang and outside was a delivery van. In my dressing gown I opened the door to find 2 men unloading several huge boxes onto our drive. They had to carry everything through the house as the passageway at the side of the house was too narrow for the largest box. When they unpacked the set one of the chairs and one footstool were twisted out of shape so had to be taken back. Mr. D arrived back in time to help set things out but then it decided to pour down with rain . We then discovered that the base to the parasol would not fit in the space below the table. when the chairs were in place. It will be useful to use with other furniture and we can still put the parasol in the centre hole of the table when it is not windy. You just have to smile! Best wishes to all.

A very busy morning!
You need a rest now @dogslife

The pleasure of hearing from you is offset by reading that you are anxious and the issues with the patio furniture. I hope the face to face appointment proves useful.

Busy, busy and such a shame that the patio furniture had issues. All the best with the telephone conversation with your GP.

Thank you @dunelm. The appointment was face to face with a doctor. He has increased my Gliclizide from 2/day to 3/day alongside my 2x metformin then will retest my HbA1c and liver function in 3 months. The reassuring news was that if I can get my blood sugars down to normal it is possible to reverse my non-alcoholic fatty liver which was one of my main concerns. I now feel more positive that I have something to work towards. Thanks again for bothering to reply.

Thank you@ianpspurs. I feel less anxious now that I have something to work towards as detailed in my reply to dunelm. The patio furniture is just one of life's minor blips. Best wishes.

Thank you @gennepher. Just as we were setting off to the doctors I got a message from friends to ask if they could visit. They were waiting outside the house when we got home and stayed for quite a while having a lovely catch up whilst drinking tea. So we got to use the new patio furniture earlier than we thought. Just had our evening meal so now for that rest you mentioned. Best wishes to you.

That was fantastic you got to test out the new garden furniture so quickly @dogslife
Enjoy your rest...

Really good news that your non-alcoholic fatty liver will reverse when blood sugars lower.
