What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, bunting out for national bin day.
@dunelm gave you a funny, but could have also given you a hug for the physio.
A 5.8 this morning.
In a few minutes I shall be doing my easy rider bit and heading out on the high way etc, etc. Therefore must continue with my preparations.
Stay well, stay safe and enjoy today.

Good morning everyone on what may be termed the Commonwealth Games Bin Day Extravaganza here in the dark and dangerous north. Thank you for the birthday wishes for my mum which I have passed on to her. My sister tells me that it was 42 degrees yesterday so my parents did not venture out. Rather, my sister took lunch round to them. Their house stays relatively cool durning these hot spells. Physio today - what joy! A free course of torture and contortion curtesy of the NHS. Art bit, more work on the tree branch. Oh, and must remember to collect my prescription from the pharmacy. Do you think that Pharmacists who recommend homeopathy should be willing to accept as payment envelopes that once contained money? Have a wonderful day if you can, does anyone fall within a hose pipe ban? Best make use of the water up here and make some koffy.

A full day for you @dunelm
That was a good idea your sister taking the birthday lunch round. Just moving around in these kind of heats can be too much.
Art bit is coming on nicely...

5.8 this morning. Lovely sunny and not too warm.day todsy. Must get going on the admin, but first another cup of coffee before I can face it.

Hello everyone on another of these warm, dry days of what may well pass into legend and The Endless Summer of '22. Surely Bryan Adams could pen a suitable ditty as a Commonwealth lad. Two bins and 3 bags of clothes, shoes and handbags to the collection for veterans. The latter was unsurprisingly well supported in this close. @gennepher thanks for the Tanka and fascinating Tiny App photo. @dunelm I hope the physio goes as well as these things ever can and keeps you as mobile as possible. Your sister was very sensible and good news that your parents' house is cool. Almost as if people in some countries know how to build homes that are properly functional all year round. Thanks for those trees. @Krystyna23040 you probably won't enjoy the admin but at least enjoy coffee from the descaled machine. @alf_Josiah enjoy your jaunt. Two grandchildren and a new hot tub (JKP thinks it will help her back) here today - what could possibly go wrong???? Have fun but stay safe is very much the watchword today.

Thank you @ianpspurs. Physio went well. Parent’s house has a corridor running through the centre of the house from one end to the other. Together with the configuration of the windows/shutters, this provides a through draught over their stone floors. Their one story house, together with about six others, were designed by a team of architects and interior designers from Paris who were re-generating one of the oldest parts of the city which, until they got involved, was mainly in ruins and only the original house foundations remained. The area was prone to flooding from the river but the houses are now built on rafts.

Yes, I really did enjoy my coffee. Hope the hot tub helps JKP's back. Actually it will be really nice to relax in.

Right back at ya for chuneage. @dunelm good news on the thoughtful renovations of the properties your parents and others now enjoy. Glad the physio went well. @Krystyna23040 thanks for the good wishes for JKP's back. The hot tub we had in the previous house was known as Nannie's Paddling Pool but we felt it previously unsafe with so many younger grandchildren. Number three son has invited himself and his children to try this one out at the weekend which probably includes Sunday lunch.

So sorry to hear about the continued pain from that fall. Worse still, that cocktail of painkillers can't relieve the pain. Also a shame you are having the rainfall for much of the rest of the country. Certainly not much - slight understatement - rain in the Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambs region all July and so far August. Take care of yourself.

Aw mate, I feel your pain

Had paracetamol as two tablets 500mg each and two separate codeine 30mg each..managed the pain quite well early days after hospital.

Found that more effective then the all in one paracetamol AND codeine.

( Think it was the delay between the two that developed most days ..mmhh.)

Not sure what gabapentin is.

Worst of my pain was more nerve damage
And amitriptyline worked best for that...might be worth asking ?

And as for the joys of needing stick & crutches ...that just sucks ...but given the alternatives..:)

Best wishes you get beter, asap

Everywhere dripping again.
Jade and Midnight were sitting on opposite ends of the swing again, and so they were first for breakfast this morning. Jade and I did the slow blinking eyes thing again, but at a distance. I still can't get near her.
The small birds are eating me out of house and home. It is the old regulars and some new regulars. I am beginning to recognise some of the new regulars and their daily interactions and squabbles. It is either two females after the same male, or two males after a female.
Another downpour. Won't be going out now because I needed to use my mobility scooter....
So, another delightful day watching my garden and everything in it...even froggy says 'hi', he is hopping past in the paddling pool that is accumulating outside my bedroom door...

Creative is a Tanka and a photo in TinyPlanets app...

Time for coffee and cream. I bought some unpasteurised cream yesterday from a dairy that is licensed to sell a small amount of unpasteurised milk and cream....heaven....

Have a good day.

Raining - we want it, we don’t want it - so inconvenient. Whoever is in charge needs to sort themselves out. Thank you for the tanka and what looks like a frogs eye view of that post box.
