6.5 this morning. Its a working progress, my mum says take little victories and encourage yourself. I was diagnosed with T2 9 days ago. I was 18.6 then....this is the lowest fbg i have had.
Welcome to this little corner of the multiverse. 6.5 down from 18.6 - very good - just keep doing what you are doing.6.5 this morning. Hello everyone on Transfer Deadline Day, Eve of Bin day (some US familes failed to account for UK Bank Holiday) and remembrance of St Giles of Provence. Winchester Gang fed and watered x2 and we await the tyre fitter for the ancient RR - locking nut in prominent place as requested. Exciting day yesterday with grandchildren @dunelm and that art is progressing nicely IMHO. I'd take Queen Crankie in a heartbeat atm. @gennepher thanks for the creative and I hope the cleanup isn't too tiring. @alf_Josiah I hope both the clock repair and "medical Stuff" both go well. @SlimLizzy the hug is for the worry over Mr Slim. Lots of sound advice above. Wrap up well now it is Autumn and the weather rapidly turns into a Dementor’s kiss for me. As always, YMMV.
Thank you and also @dunelm. Tyres done, now to have the wheel alignment sorted.good luck with the ancient Rolls Rover repair, that’s RRR.
The down pipe from the u bend has come adrift, dropped.Oh no. Hope that is easily solved with the least mess possible.
Best of luck at the plumbers store. As for fixing it, if anyone can Genn can.The down pipe from the u bend has come adrift, dropped.
So I thought just connect it up again.
Not possible.
It was never put in right in the first place. it has been like this the last 20 years I have been here and never leaked yet. A blinking miracle.
The u bend end had just been placed over the down pipe, and the screw fitting wasn't connecting/wasn't doing anything.
A trip to the plumbers store for me next. Don't know exactly what I'm looking for. But one guy on You Tube said a compression fitting is possibly good because of the possible different plastics...
It is worth a go at least.
Thank you so much for that confidence in me. About to leave now . .Best of luck at the plumbers store. As for fixing it, if anyone can Genn can.
It is now done and dusted, and is being tested by the washing machine water...it is holding so far.Best of luck at the plumbers store. As for fixing it, if anyone can Genn can.
Absolute superstar. Totally in awe of your attitude. Hope you have a good sleep tonight. It is now done and dusted, and is being tested by the washing machine water...it is holding so far.
Was it easy? No.
So called plumbing shops wanted to send out a plumber...next week...not sell me the parts.
End up at a builder's merchant's. Found my supplies there. Bought two. Cost me under £6. And a couple other bits in case...
But the parts were right, except my sink u bend and downpipe were imperial, and these parts are metric.
Finally I took the black rubber dimple ring out of the metric ring, watched you tube again where to place the black rubber ring on the pipe , and screwed up the original imperial sized screw ring in two seconds flat.
It took me an hour to get that far!
The worst part was trying to get out from under the sink....
I can now add plumbing to my skills ...
Absolutely brilliant - I already visualised the tricky bit - getting back up from under the sink. Bit of a cheek that plumbing shop.It is now done and dusted, and is being tested by the washing machine water...it is holding so far.

Good morning everyone from what looks to be a fine day here in the dark and dangerous north. Pretty miserable yesterday but daughter and husband saved the day by inviting everyone over to sit in their hot tub. What fun. I wonder how long they will be able to keep going with it unless the price of fuel plunges and/or either Dumb or Dumber steps in with some brilliant plan of action once they get to be in charge of the number 10 cat (don’t hold your breath). Physio this morning and then down on the beach perhaps if that sunshine holds. Art bit - adding a bit of colour. Have a fabulous Friday. I shall now attempt to make some koffy.

A good day overall @SlimLizzy02.09

Scaffold is now fully erected (at 10m high it is just possible to reach the loose barge board) and is equipped with hoist. It has taken two days to get both towers up. The taller one has been borrowed from a neighbour, saving us literally hundreds of euros. Thank you very much J&J. MrSlim has anchored both the towers to the house wall. I have not enjoyed watching the construction process. It is obvious that MrSlim is not as fit, flexible, agile or confident at height as he was, even a couple of years ago. Will be grateful to see the job safely concluded. Getting MrSlim to rest is almost impossible once he has started a job, however he has become more aware of needing to drink and will stop briefly for tea or squash.
@dunelm yesterdays blackouts were short, but frequent, leading to the reassuring use of a candle in our windowless shower room. However last night we experienced a spectacular and lengthy thunderstorm with torrential rain and power cut. Power was still off when we went to bed.
Freezer temp this morning -1. Have carefully refrained from opening the door and engaged fast freeze.
@gennepher well done you for the plumbing job successfully completed. MrSlim would agree with you about getting in and out of tight spaces. He must have forgotten how much of narrowboat living involves this kind of gymnastics and is eulogising canal life again. At 6ft 2in he is not made for small spaces.
We get like that - our brain is convinced that we can jump and dive about - our bodies sigh and complain. Stopping for frequent drinks is always a good idea. Sorry to read about the blackouts.02.09
