Sometimes, I think you just go along with the day as regards food @jjraak and it works out that day, whether it is more or less foodMorning all.
It's seems my descent from Med Mountain ...'May' finally be showing visible signs of beginning.
Best in 9 months fbg 6.1 yesterday morning...yehaaw.
And an inadvertent fast (sort of ...ish) yesterday, resulted in a foot on the floor 7.1 this morning .
(Those pesky .01's spoiling a neat, round finish.)
Stuck at home, I try to only eat once..and that's the evening meal with Lauren.
But Laurens decided she's on a diet & had eaten sufficient during her work day ...was i ok with that ?
She looked tired, I wasn't dying of hunger, so I agreed and just got a small bit of cheese & cracker to take edge off appetite, intending to eat a fuller meal later.
Instead, we went to bed early , so I didn't have that expected meal.
Having tried fasting before, it always made me feel awful.
Now given it was 'some' food at 5pm it may not really count...but I feel fine & surprisingly not ravenous.
I hope that's a good sign & not a portent of something more ...mmhh.
As for the day.
Diabetic clinic for eye test ..joy.
And deep dive into 'that' day with PTSD therapist.
All for my own good i know, but not that keen, if I'm honest either.
News has returned..hurrah.
Though it's poor
Truss era barely a few weeks old, and already signs of a 'what a shambles,' appearing ..throw in confirmation of Twitter reports that Putin is doubling down & calling up reservists...
Ho hum.
Wishing ya all the best for today
Cats will Cat.Thanks @jjraak
I am not so sure Midnight knows the word gentle ...
Snatch the first one, deffo.6.9 today (around 5 am) but I took some pain killers and and a cup of tea, then went back to sleep in the big chair and woke with BG of 10.5 - not sure which one to call FBG.
Thanks @jjraak I have applied. My current one is two years old...Might be of interest to someone ?
Free Blood glucose monitor
Anyone want to get a upgrade or free blood glucose monitor? I've just got one from here https://www.diabetes.ascensia.co.uk/products/contour-plus-blue/ Regards. Paul.www.diabetes.co.uk
Thank you@jjraak. Our next Covid & flu jabs are booked for mid October. We are both feeling pretty rotten atm but I keep telling myself that is because our bodies are in fighting mode which is a good thing. Take care.Oh dear, a hug for that.
I suppose if there is any light in that, it is perhaps better to have caught it now, when help is more readily available then previously.
And before the winter wave begins it rise.
Get better soon, both of you .
Hope you feel a lot better very soon @dogslife . You are right that Covid is still lurking around.Good morning to you all. fbs this morning 14.7 .I am now 1/2 way through the 3 months on increased diabetes medication before my next HbA1c test.I have stopped testing every morning for now as there doesn't seem much point but tested today as I felt unwell. Yesterday after all this time being really cautious Mr.D and I tested positive for Covid. We were planning to attend an autumn fete at mum's nursing home on Saturday but will still be isolating. At least we managed to take our donations for it last time we visited. I suppose we have done well to escape Covid for so long but it proves it is still lurking about. Take care and stay safe everyone.
Shame about the PTSD counsellor - I hope there was a very good reason given for not turning up.Eye check today.
Nice lady conducting it.
Didn't go well.
Might have an issue with left eye
I have noticed it's not as good as the right one.
Put it down to being bed/house bound so long, bored & reading forum on mobile because it was easier in hospital, and I just carried on.
Lady asked about crutch etc.
Told her of accident.
Seemed concerned.
She's looking to get a 2nd opinion and promised to be in touch soon.
The gift that keeps on giving
Oh & I got stood up by PTSD counselor....
It doesn't rain but it pours, as my old mum would have said.
Good job I got wellies, then.
Good luck on Friday and I hope your eyesight improves once it's done.Took the better half to Dermatologist, yesterday pm urgently within the two week rule.
She has three lesions on her leg that looks nasty.
We were relieve when he said they were not cancer, but they need a biopsy to know how to treat them. So next step the biopsy in October.
I am having my right cataract done again Friday since it was cocked up last year at Preston.
It's £2000+this time but worth it to be able to see through two eyes properly.

Yes it was.Shame about the PTSD counsellor - I hope there was a very good reason given for not turning up.
Eyes do give out at different rates. I don't know why but it's not uncommon. There is little actually wrong with my eyes but the right one is weaker than the left - it is also the one that causes me to be unable to see far to my right at road junctions (it seems to be a different shape to normal). I have found that, when I am reading, or concentrating on the laptop screen, I am more comfortable just closing my right eye and reading with my left one. Ordinary eye tests don't reveal anything wrong at all.
Eye check today.
