Of course Majorie did the right thing. JKP saw a doctor last week but commented that neither the doctor nor the other patients wore a mask. Unsurprisingly, everyone associated with my treatment wears a mask, always washes hands and disposes of gloves and apron immediately after procedures. As for the issue of doctors and public sector workers in general, why would anyone feel well disposed to work for a regime that has for 12 years made no secret of the fact they despise them? Forgive me if I am wrongly denigrating them but that is how it looks. To me if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is a duck. When Marjorie went to local Lidl and Coop yesterday she was the only one wearing a mask.
No one wears a mask in local chemists it's not surprising COVID is spreading.
Only at the doctor's one wears a mask but all you get now is a nurse practitioner.
Where have all the doctor's gone?
A lot have retired and the conservative government wouldn't pay for training more.
My eldest is 60 next September and could retire.

Second son's birthday and the anniversary of Errants death. Kiki is a delight (except when she misses the litter tray) but can never replace him.
Didn't make it to the coffee morning yesterday. On tuesday MrSlim and I went to get new passport photos taken. After first attempt the machine announced that my pictures did not conform to the standard required. Neither of us could work out why. Two more attempts allowed. Slight variations but still deemed unacceptable. MrSlim is going to apply with one of them anyway...
Today I resolve yet again to finish the bed curtains started over a month ago. Probably needs thirty mins on the sewing machine, but there is always something else more urgent, satisfying, or outside that gets priority. (Kiki needs hours of laptime still. She is very demanding and persistent- repeatedly climbing up my legs, ouch sharp claws, until I do give in and cuddle her ) Still we have completed three improvements outside in about ten days. I say we, but MrSlim did most of the work really. All these projects involved moving rocks and stones so very heavy work. The new stone path to the woodshed will make life less messy when the winter rains start. Kiki loves it - she really dislikes wet grass under her paws and the woodshed is her adventure playground. MrSlim estimates the stones we moved yesterday to build the new cheese shaped herb bed at about four tonnes.
Hey Alf!Good late national bin day Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who worship at the feet of the oversleeping god. Waking at 6:00am then falling back asleep and not waking till well gone 8:00am, such a waste of a morning.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.4 a number divisible by 2 and 3, therefore not a prime number. More useless information.

Here in Tilehurst Towers we are preparing for a busy few days, hopefully with much hilarity and naughtiness, Mrs J bless her cotton fangs has purchased fodder, some diabetic friendly and some not and later today will be cooking and freezing meals. Mrs J will also be practicing her her second fluent language, swearing as me, me’s and myself make husbandly suggestions.
.
Now I must depart and get on with my abnormal life which will probably involve receiving black looks, shaking of heads and tutting.
Congratulations to those suffering anniversaries and hugs to those under the weather.
Whoops Mrs J is talking at me, shame listening mode is not engaged.
Stay safe all.
Thanks @ianpspursGood morning from a rainy Breckland. That wasn't supposed to happen but there does seem to be a common thread weaving its way through family P just now. 38 years ago it was a beautifully sunny day, at least in Cambs. We have the pictures and DVD for evidence. Far too many of the guests now rejoice on a another shore and in a greater light.Thank you so much for the concern shown for JKP, my son and granddaughter. This is such a supportive thread which shows the better angels of our nature in this demented era. @SlimLizzy our son was shaken up but we looked after the little one next day who was fine but kept saying daddy's car is broken. Happy birthday to your son. @Jojo85 good to see you back and the 6s will be fine. @dunelm thank you for the art and good wishes for our anniversary. That course sounds as though it has been helpful. @Krystyna23040 great story of both phone calls but hug for Archie today. @Annb good news on Neil recovering and I hope the leg recovers as quickly. @gennepher thank you for the wonderful autumnal art ( in the style of the Fauve's in my addled mind but art experts will know better) and the kindness in your post. Take care of yourselves.
Extra hugs for you and Marjorie @lindisfelWhen Marjorie went to local Lidl and Coop yesterday she was the only one wearing a mask.

That nightmare and the original event sound awful. Midnight would protect you and all the other animals you lovingly care for would wade in. Cuppa and calm stroking time in the potting shed?I had my nap.
Nearly a couple of hours.
But I had a nightmare I couldn't get out of. It was based on a real life event from 20 years ago, the main character was the same, the others were equally evil in their ominous silence. I bided my time in the nightmare and saw a way to escape. A stranger helped. I got out of the nightmare. I'm covered in sweat, I need to put fresh clothes on.
This person had said he would always be able to find me, I would never escape him, as he had contacts...
Just having that cuppa now thanks. That nightmare and the original event sound awful. Midnight would protect you and all the other animals you lovingly care for would wade in. Cuppa and calm stroking time in the potting shed?
That sounds dreadful, both the nightmare and the original event. I received a similar threat many years ago but nothing ever materialised (that's the way with threats) and I managed to set it aside. It's hard though but strangers will often help, both in dreams and in reality. Time now to try to de-stress and relax with your loving and loved Midnight. He is there for you, as you are for him.I had my nap.

I once span out a tale of woe where we crashed the car in a storm, the car rolled down a bank into a river and we all drowned - click!Yes, it was fun. My favourite one was a caller enquiring if I had been involved in an accident. I said that I had but had to go up into the loft and find the paperwork.
Hilary was there at the time and we were both laughing when Mr K walked in. When I told him why, he unmuted the phone and the caller told him that 'the lady had gone into the loft to get the paperwork'. Mr K explained that 'the lady should not have answered the phone as this was The Home for the Bewildered '. The caller apologised and said that he would take us off the list.
Both Hilary and I were laughing hysterically as this was so true as we had been puzzling over the accounts at the time.
That is so funny.I once span out a tale of woe where we crashed the car in a storm, the car rolled down a bank into a river and we all drowned - click!
Stretching exercises, and relaxation exercises sound a good thing to take away from the course @dunelmGood morning everyone from the wonderful peace and quiet at the start of the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Lovely dinner out and catch up with Mrs Miggins last night. No more back pain course but I thoroughly enjoyed it and have plucked out several strategies to use, mainly stretching exercises and relaxation techniques - both seem to agree with me. Art bit - a sketchy outline, see how it goes. Have a Fab Friday if you can. I simply must make some koffy.

Thanks for the compliments.Good morning everyone from the Brecks on the Feast of St Simon and St Jude, Apostles. I'm not sure one is meant to celebrate that by testing positive for COVID but I'll be a trend setter for once. NHS informed and will contact me regarding treatment. I was due to have some treatment today but obviously that is off. @dunelm good to know the course was helpful and you had a catch up with Mr Miggins over a lovely meal. Thanks for the art. @gennepher your creative captures the sun and palette this time of year superbly. Thank you. I think today will be one joyous round of tea, paracetamol, temperature taking and naps. The good or bad side of LC is there is absolutely nothing remotely like comfort food but we do have vast stores of tea and almond milk
