What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Of course Majorie did the right thing. JKP saw a doctor last week but commented that neither the doctor nor the other patients wore a mask. Unsurprisingly, everyone associated with my treatment wears a mask, always washes hands and disposes of gloves and apron immediately after procedures. As for the issue of doctors and public sector workers in general, why would anyone feel well disposed to work for a regime that has for 12 years made no secret of the fact they despise them? Forgive me if I am wrongly denigrating them but that is how it looks. To me if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is a duck.

It doesn't seem that long.
Time is moving quickly @SlimLizzy
Errant is very special.

I always said to myself I was never 'owning' another cat.
I was not going to do anything about that.
I fed my strays, but that was it.

But along came that scruffy over large cat I call Midnight (I give all my stray cats names, and the regular wildlife, and eventually the regular birds), and Midnight adopted me.

Midnight does not replace Popeye, no cat can.
However, I can now say Midnight takes an equal place in my heart. My heart just got bigger....

Hey Alf!
Loads of big energetic hugs for you, simply because you make me smile!

Thanks @ianpspurs
Yes I get the Fauvist reference.
I like the Fauvist movement, a lot. And any attempt to recreate a painting in their style (and I have tried many times) ended in failure.
Now, you pay me that compliment, and make me smile

Thank you

You take care

Extra hugs for you and Marjorie @lindisfel

There is no mask wearing in the hospital visits I made in the last few months, not by the nurses, nor doctors...

It is good for me, because I can now lipread what they are saying to me. I had no idea before what I was being asked or being told to do, and it was incredibly stressful for me.

I did ask why they were not mask wearing and doing all the Covid checks they were doing on my prior visits, and I was told they had decided returning back to normal (as in prior Covid) was more important for patients and themselves (so for everyone) than mask wearing.

I was going through an internal procedure that day, so that policy made me anxious...

It might all change on my next visit next year. My appointment in March '23 has already been cancelled, and no new one offered yet...

Take care x

I had my nap.
Nearly a couple of hours.
But I had a nightmare I couldn't get out of. It was based on a real life event from 20 years ago, the main character was the same, the others were equally evil in their ominous silence. I bided my time in the nightmare and saw a way to escape. A stranger helped. I got out of the nightmare. I'm covered in sweat, I need to put fresh clothes on.
This person had said he would always be able to find me, I would never escape him, as he had contacts...

That nightmare and the original event sound awful. Midnight would protect you and all the other animals you lovingly care for would wade in. Cuppa and calm stroking time in the potting shed?

That sounds dreadful, both the nightmare and the original event. I received a similar threat many years ago but nothing ever materialised (that's the way with threats) and I managed to set it aside. It's hard though but strangers will often help, both in dreams and in reality. Time now to try to de-stress and relax with your loving and loved Midnight. He is there for you, as you are for him.

Strangers are often unexpectedly helpful.
Midnight is a beautiful loving cat.

I once span out a tale of woe where we crashed the car in a storm, the car rolled down a bank into a river and we all drowned - click!

Good morning everyone from the wonderful peace and quiet at the start of the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Lovely dinner out and catch up with Mrs Miggins last night. No more back pain course but I thoroughly enjoyed it and have plucked out several strategies to use, mainly stretching exercises and relaxation techniques - both seem to agree with me. Art bit - a sketchy outline, see how it goes. Have a Fab Friday if you can. I simply must make some koffy.

In this YouTube video, cat, Midnight, is sitting on the swing, and this fox, Foxy Loxy, is going round and round in an anti clockwise direction.
Foxy Loxy comes in at this point by the swing, because when my neighbour built a wooden fence along the dividing breeze block wall, he created a passage that the wild animals, foxes, badgers, and stray cats, could easily enter my garden.

Foxy Loxy comes in at this point by the swing, and then either goes over to my vegetable garden for a rummage, or goes up to the top of my garden where the apple trees are, and then comes back down again to the swing. Foxy Loxy does this repeatedly. This night, he did it for over 4 hours.

The main plus point of the foxes and badgers being in my garden, is that I have virtually no snails or slugs any more. There was literally a carpet of snails and slugs before these two wild animals paid their nightly visits.

The nights have been warm, so Midnight has started going out to the swing during the night again. That cat looks like he is plotting something...

Creative is a painting in Procreate on Autumn.
The sun is often blinding this time of the year, because it is getting lower in the sky...

Have a good day.

Time for another cuppa...

Stretching exercises, and relaxation exercises sound a good thing to take away from the course @dunelm

A city of ancient dreams...this sketch suggests to me...

Enjoy that coffee.,.

Good morning everyone from the Brecks on the Feast of St Simon and St Jude, Apostles. I'm not sure one is meant to celebrate that by testing positive for COVID but I'll be a trend setter for once. NHS informed and will contact me regarding treatment. I was due to have some treatment today but obviously that is off. @dunelm good to know the course was helpful and you had a catch up with Mr Miggins over a lovely meal. Thanks for the art. @gennepher your creative captures the sun and palette this time of year superbly. Thank you. I think today will be one joyous round of tea, paracetamol, temperature taking and naps. The good or bad side of LC is there is absolutely nothing remotely like comfort food but we do have vast stores of tea and almond milk

Thanks for the compliments.
Hugs for joyous round of meds and temperature taking and naps and tea @ianpspurs
Sorry you had to miss a treatment.
Both of you get better quickly
