Just got back home.
It would take too long to explain properly, but I got a no reply text (I hate those no reply texts) yesterday afternoon, about some medical records which are not right. And someone has assumed that I've not been attending the St Paul's eye hospital since 23 July 2019. And that I have slipped through the net as regards my appointments at St Paul's Eye Hospital Liverpool.
But you all know I have been attending my St Paul's Eye Hospital appointments yearly. And I have said on here that I have an appointment on December 20th.
So who decided I have slipped through the St Paul's Eye Hospital, and why the specific date of from 23 July? That makes no sense. All my St Paul's appointments are Dec/Jan time.
So, I went to my doctorless surgery, to the receptionists to find out what was going on. They tell me I haven't been attending St Paul's Eye Hospital since 23 July 2019. I explain that I have, and that I have my yearly appointment on 20 December very soon.
The receptionist tells me she put this referral through yesterday. Why ? I ask? On whose authority? I'll print out the referral letter she said.
I couldn't make sense of it on first read. And by the way we would like you to come in for a blood pressure check on Monday receptionist said and nurse will give you a blood test form. What is this for, I ask. I don't know, you'll find out when you get here, receptionist said. I would like to know now, I said, please can you ask someone. There's no one here to ask, she replied. No nurse, no doctor I asked? No, she said.
In that huge massive waiting room, there are only two chairs for patients to wait on.
I was there nearly three quarters of an hour while she was dealing with me, and not one soul came in all that time. There was only one other receptionist on the phone dealing with incoming calls. There was no other staff in the back room, prior Covid that was full of people on phones and stuff.
Now I understand the complaints online with my doctorless surgery. People say they ring for days, and they are told they are number 221 (I kid you not) in the telephone queue, but half hour later they get cut off...
I got told by the receptionist I should not have come in, that I should have made a telephone call for my enquiry. I said I couldn't because I was deaf and couldn't hear on the phone and there was no other way of communication with the surgery no email nothing.
You should have done it online then she said. I said there's no means of doing it online I said I used to be able to do it online with 'my health online' but they stopped doing it a long time ago, I said. 'My health online' is only for your prescriptions now she said. You need to.... and then she lost me with what she was saying because I had not heard those words/phrases before so I explained I didn't understand her.
So please could she write it down for me, I asked. She didn't, and I asked again for her to do so
She didn't really want to deal with me anymore so she said, just turn up for the nurse for the blood pressure on on Monday and she will tell you what the blood test will be for.
I got no further with her.
I did some shopping after that because I thought if the weather was still getting bad then I don't really want to go out the next few days so so I did some fridge stuff shopping.
I was tired when I got back in and I open this letter of referral from the doctorless surgery to St Paul's Eye Hospital. It was written by what I think was an Indian doctor locum from 'Pooled Doctors', and it said locum after her name, and I presume this is being done long distance from some nhs hub and she's accessed the surgery records on me, and has very much cherry-picked my medical history for the last 20-years. There is an awful lot that has been missed out. She didn't know me, she has no knowledge of me and I'm going to look at this referral again tomorrow because I am completely confused today. Well I'm not confused I'm just confused as to what is going on.
I sincerely hope this does not mess my 20th of December eye appointment at St. Paul's Liverpool. This is what's worrying me, but there's absolutely nothing I can do about this. Fingers crossed that my St Paul's appointment goes ahead as planned.
Deja Vu
