What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hope today went well and you got the words off to your daughter @gennepher.

Thanks @Krystyna23040
This is what I posted earlier on my day...

Yes, sent the words off to my daughter, thank you...

Well done at the non-doctors and a win for the diabetic bloods. When you can, wipe your door seals down with a clean cloth and a squirt of WD40 or similar. Wonder if hand sanitizer would work? Door locks, de-icing spray or a warmed up key. My key fob has an emergency key in it that I used with a squirt of Water Displacement, 40th attempt on it as my winter prep.

Excellent - a good win all round

Oh you've come on the wrong day she said your appointment is tomorrow, she says condescendingly. As though I am a batty old lady.
I'd say that's 1-0 to the batty old ladies ( AKA female Silver Surfers..for male & females, Experience & guile are our superpowers )

Good use of the non doctors doctor's visit. RESULT.

Huge hug for the lock out.

Been close but I got in after a bit of jiggling & a little heat from Laurens lighter (back in the day )
Not recommended for chipped keys .

But how annoying , getting back in then key not being recognised

Been a particularly cold snap, pretty sure you'll be wiser if it happens again.

@dunelms post a great one.

I like wikihow pages
Here's there's on locks..

PTFE gets a good rep for locks

A little vaseline might do the lock if you don't have any WD40 or GT85 to hand ?...around £3 on Amazon

Added info.

No PTFE in WD40
GT85 OR WD40 ?

Thank you and thank you so much @dunelm for that advice.
I have WD-40 aplenty...always buying a can...

Roly Mo has been busy in our front garden making it difficult to open the front gates properly to get a car out with frozen clods of spoil. It looks as though I shall have to use a hot kettle and shovel to clear his spoil.
I don't like trapping the "man in the velvet waistcoat" but sometimes needs must if I can't get him to go elsewhere.

Thanks very much @jjraak
First link does not work please could you send it again.
Second link works great and I'll be getting some of the other stuff.

I have some normal WD-40 and I have in the garage some silicone free WD-40. I have some other stuff in the garage in spray cans (as well as some axle grease) but I am not sure what at this minute as I'm snug as a bug in my heated rug. Why do I have them? Because I use them when I'm doing acrylic painting to get paint effects, so I will be toddling to the garage when I can get my back door open, I think it might need WD-40 round the edge of that as well as the car door, so I'm going to need a very large supply of this stuff to go round all my doors. And I already have it. The acrylic painting will have to go on hold...

I have plenty of PTFE tape, so I'm curious to know what that link was which just gives me 404 not found.

Thank you so much.

Roly Mo has fun on my garden too, the fine soil on this mounds are very welcome for my pots and stuff when it is not freezing @lindisfel but they do freeze extraordinarily hard and are a tripping hazard...

This is all extra work our aged bodies really do not need....good luck...

GT 85 has PTFE in it and is a good surface coating lubricant, WD 40.dispels moisture and lubricates. If you have a large old lock operated by a key it really helps if you take them apart and coat the moving parts with soft pencil lead. You can try that with a key after heating keys in frost problems fails to work.

I remember being told about grit & dirt causing issues on motorcycle ignition.
(Most sit upright to the sky)

Have used WD40 no issues but others say it can gum up switch with dust & grime ?

As it's just a cold weather thing & hopefully a short lived issue, the lighter PTFE is likely a better choice , though I'd use wd40 on my car locks if I didn't have GT85 to hand , quite happily.

I can imagine WD-40 can clog up stuff over time @jjraak
I need to find out what I have in the Tardis first...

Ta very much @jjraak
First hint...leave car door unlocked...
Well that would very quickly solve all my car problems...
Indeed...fuel costs improve dramatically...haha

For the likes of wikihow (and Amazon etc) I sometimes find some of the best info is in the comments section.

As in how & what people use it for & how effective the product was
Or tips to use other products etc

Good luck fixing this issue .

It's alleged certain politicians sniffed GT,85 so they received Teflon status.

Thank you @gennepher and @jjraak - I just don't know how Archie is still s****ing the way he is as he hadn't eaten any food. He is a bit upset this morning because he wanted his breakfast and we wouldn't let him go with Poppy for the morning walk.

Hopefully the vet can sort it. Actually I think Mr K is slightly mad to go for the walk in -4.5°. He has just got back and says it wasn't too cold. Really!
