I woke up the morning, with the words to my daughter. It was very simple. Two basic essential facts, and then I'm still here 20 odd years later, and we'll talk Sunday, unless you want to sooner. I do have the fault of giving long winded explanations, I just cannot shorten them. So, the essentials, and then I will be led on what she asks about it.
I need, for my own sanity, to get that off to her later today. The sword of damacles fom this is freezing my brain and me doing anything. Once I've sent it, I will still be apprehensive until she responds. Then when once words, whatever they are, start being exchange in this, then the fear of the sword of damacles will lift and I will be free of that fear.
Now to sort out my other thing and that nurse and surgery this morning. I know I am prepared, but mentally I feel on hold until I get get back home...then hopefully my mind will feel free for my stuff.

Ghost cat number 1, at night and what he looks like in the morning...
I call him ghost cat because he is white on the nighttime trail camera.
This is not the one that was on my car roof yesterday. That was ghost cat 3. So, I now have 3 ginger strays, different ginger cats than those earlier in the year.
Creative is autumn, but I haven't really finished it...I have to get ready for the nurse. So this is it for this painting. I have several copies of it at different stages of painting, and I will have another go at it tomorrow. I am out of time here.

I had a successful morning but not in quite in the way you might think. First problem was trying to get in the car with -6 out there. Finally I got in, and then it said it didn't recognize the key. Finally I got that sorted. Defrosted the windscreen and all that. Managed to get down to the surgery car park, but no space is for love or money. And it looks like from the hard frost on the car windows and windscreens that half the cars on there are just left on there permanently.
I managed to find car parking space a bit of a distance away, and obviously had to use my scooter no way I could walk that distance. I got in there and then the surgery screen wouldn't recognize my appointment. So, I had to go to reception. Oh you've come on the wrong day she said your appointment is tomorrow, she says condescendingly. As though I am a batty old lady.
We can't do anything about it for today you'll have to come back tomorrow. And I said but no my appointment was today Monday. So the exasperated receptionist is trying to explain to this batty old lady that I've got it wrong. So I fished my appointment card out of my bag, and I said look here this says Monday today. So she says oh. And calls for the practice manager. Practice manager comes out she explains and he says oh put her with Michael, Michael will see her.
And before the practice manager can walk away I say I want to see you, he was taking aback but said come back to reception after seeing Michael.
A short wait in a different part of the building and Michael calls me in. And he asked why I'm there. And all I can explain is that I am confused and bewildered about this appointment and I have no idea and I explain about the text out of the blue last week and I explain about this incorrect referral etc etc. And no one has explained what this blood test is about. Anyway Michael couldn't find a reason for the blood test and he didn't know what to test me for so he produced the general some sort of blood test form. And then a few minutes later he said give me that back, you're diabetic aren't you. Type 2, I said. Right he said I'll put you in for a diabetic review and these tests will be for to see how your diabetes is going. How about that he said. That suits me just fine I said, I will be pleased with that.
So then off to reception to get hold of the practice manager. I told him all the problem with the incorrect referral and incorrect information etc etc, because I'd written the letter and it was a fairly concise letter I could remember all the points on it so I just went through mentally in my mind all the points in the letter but the main point was the incorrect details of the eye hospital, of my attendance to it. Saying I had not attended when I had. And I would like that checked out and corrected
I don't know exactly what I was expecting him to do then, but it went more or less as I thought it might, which he was trying to get out of it with smooth talking and said it didn't matter, nothing to worry about, and said that my 20th of December appointment at St Paul's Eye Hospital will be fine etc etc. He deflected everything I said. He did not want to address any of the issues. He just wanted me gone So I will actually be sending him that letter in a day or so.
The blood testing has opened up in the health centre again It had not been functional from about 2019 for some reason, and so I went to the desk and said could I arrange for blood test here oh no you going to have to go and telephone for it she said, I told her I couldn't do that because I was deaf. She still said she couldn't do it, so I didn't say anything but just looked at her. Finally, hang on she said give me a minute and she went to the back and a few minutes later came back and said the lady will see you now you can have your blood tests now.
So that was a good result and efficiently done because I really do not want to go out again in this cold weather.
But when I got back to the car I was locked out. The temperature had been -5 but I found out later when I got back in the car, it had dropped to -8 and the car completely frozen up again. I'm trying to yank and yank at the doors to try and get in but they had frozen solid.
There was now a freezing fog very thick fog and I just want to get home as quick as possible. Someone stronger than me got my doors open for me. And now I'm in bed wrapped up with loads of layers the cat is on me the heater is going and the temperature won't rise as much as I'd like it to. But I am snug as a bug in a rug. An electric blanket on and the cat approves immensely.
I actually made a weird tent over my bed head and over me with one of my big dressing gowns, the cat doesn't know what I'm playing at and I am underneath it dictating this on my phone.
Oh, and I managed to get 2 trays eggs from the Polish shop, they had just had a huge pallet of eggs delivered. The date is after Christmas on it so if I could have got one more that would have lasted me to the new year, but never mind. I felt greedy taking three trays of eggs (Even though they have a big part of controlling my diabetes), so maybe they might still be some left when I next go. But this temperature has got to rise first before I go out again, with the key saying it didn't exist, and the car freezing the locks up when I'm out and about. There were a lot of shops closed today and I would have liked to have done a bit more shopping but it wasn't possible.
I now have to feed the frozen wild beasts, and stray cats, and I don't want to get out of this bed ...

It's exactly the same here and of course I won.Along with Christmas crackers I think cards are well past their sell by date - JKP begs to differ so guess who wins?
Well done at the non-doctors and a win for the diabetic bloods. When you can, wipe your door seals down with a clean cloth and a squirt of WD40 or similar. Wonder if hand sanitizer would work? Door locks, de-icing spray or a warmed up key. Covered my remission status of 40 back in 2019.
Curiosity has always had me wanting to ask how many do so well ?
So it seemed to perfect moment to ask, right..?
Outcome was about 4.....mmh
Explained he sees maybe 10-12 patients a week ....x 52...a round figure circa 500....
not too shabby, JJ, not to shabby.
Impressed how well I'd done,
And how clear I was about diet food etc

Downside was I now need some more meds .
Freezing cold day here in the capital, snow still here .
But as I was out to GP anyway, I thought I'd make the most of the outing....
So a little jaunt to Hyde park and a few pics to boot on the Ebike finished up my time outdoors.

Been close but I got in after a bit of jiggling & a little heat from Laurens lighter (back in the day )
Not recommended for chipped keys .
But how annoying , getting back in then key not being recognised

PTFE gets a good rep for locks
A little vaseline might do the lock if you don't have any WD40 or GT85 to hand ?...around £3 on Amazon

Roly Mo has fun on my garden too, the fine soil on this mounds are very welcome for my pots and stuff when it is not freezing @lindisfel but they do freeze extraordinarily hard and are a tripping hazard...Roly Mo has been busy in our front garden making it difficult to open the front gates properly to get a car out with frozen clods of spoil. It looks as though I shall have to use a hot kettle and shovel to clear his spoil.
I don't like trapping the "man in the velvet waistcoat" but sometimes needs must if I can't get him to go elsewhere.

As it's just a cold weather thing & hopefully a short lived issue, the lighter PTFE is likely a better choice , though I'd use wd40 on my car locks if I didn't have GT85 to hand , quite happily.
