What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

FBG 12.9. Had half a jelly baby yesterday evening to stop BG dropping. Didn't work so had the 2nd half and that made BG climb to produce the morning high. Dropping now. It was 10.4 before a not very good breakfast experience (found mould on the ham sandwich I had made for myself, so breakfast was just ham) 8.1 now.

Joined a Zoom memorial meeting last evening, for the friend who died and discovered that another, younger friend had died on the same day! Didn't even know she was sick, so that was quite a shock. She was quite young. Not sure of her exact age but she is of the same generation as my sons. The friend whose death I knew of was in her 60's at least. Not that 60 is any great age but she did, at least, get to meet the first of her grandchildren.

Today is a wet and windy one. That very wet, fine rain that gets inside what ever you are wearing and there is a strong wind (supposedly gusting into the 50mph region). Great day for staying indoors, wrapped up well and cozying up to the little kitchen heater. The light above our front door failed a day or so ago and, luckily, despite some light rain, Neil fitted a new one yesterday - he couldn't possibly have done it today. It's an LED one and is very bright - puts the 2nd one at the bottom of the ramp to shame.
 
Had what I have to assume was neuropathy for several years before I was diagnosed T2. It was a tingling in my toes which went away when I walked. No medics seemed to have any ideas about what it could be. Now it feels as though I have something under my toes all the time and frequent feeling as though my legs are turning to jelly, twitching leg muscles helps, but I can't keep doing it for long and walking is getting more difficult these days. Bit of a problem. When my BG drops, it goes away - almost. I do feel that it happens more when my BG rises to higher levels.

So here’s my go at a woke friendly version of my normal style of daily posting…..

Morening all
I took my blood sugars this morning.
I shall try to stay safe.

Now here’s the thinking behind it….
I can’t say good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.
So the word good will offend those who are not having a good morning. Ladies and Gentlemen would offend those who think they another type of gender!

I cannot mention my blood sugar reading incase my reading offends those who’s reading is less or more, just for information my reading this morning was a straight 6, whoops the word straight could be taken as offensive by those of a different *exua* nature, to the norm, oh another faux pas here.

I normally write stay safe, stay warm avoid the etc, etc.
Who am I to tell you what to do, hence changing my wording to I shall try to stay safe.

Wonderful isn’t it? I am of a generation that refuses to pander to the woke generation and doesn’t care.

Abnormal service will resume tomorrow.
 
You need to talk to Ianpspurs about your hangups. It seems I am original style awakened - refuse to use that other word. I believe in unity and equality and diversity, if I find any particular diversity difficult, and I do, it's my problem, nobody else's. I am only offended by subversion of the language I have been learning for the last 77 years. Too much time invested to gracefully accept alterations. So:

A straight 6 is pretty good - congratulations
Stay as safe as you can with that attitude of yours
Awakened folk CARE about others - modern w*** folk seem to care about themselves more

A day of tinkering yesterday leaves a little aching of the body today.

Before I put her clothes back on tomorrow, is the plan .

Plan B, is to prevaricate, um & ahh until it's too late to do the work, then veg out on netflickery* or some such offering .

( *Lauren out with friends visiting their gran, so if I choose box B,
I'll have to watch an entire film without having to explain most of it ...hope I remember how... )

Now .....a bike builders tea, then off out to wrestle scooter.

Ahh, let me expand a little, I only delt with a woke version of my daily diatribe, I didn’t touch on the more insidious aspects of woke. Life is far to short to waste time on that nonsense.
@ianpspurs and me, me’s and myself have crossed swords over many years and threads, sometimes we agree and more often than not we disagree, the comment about political correctness is one, woke started at political correctness.
Possibly to be continued or not, I must now away to other realities and dimensions

I am not talking about anyone here but some are too easily offended and subsequently changing the meaning of words and rewriting history.

I was interested this am when they had to insert LGBT in the Jewish service when they definitely should have had Gypsies because the Nazis gassed 600, 000 gypsies but I must have missed that bit.

We had all that stuff about about the State's and black lives matter, of course they matter but they obviously don't to Memphis black policeman.

India has one of the worst records of slavery and prostitution but it was all started by the British Military in the 19th century to service the soldiers so they could bring a present back to their wives.

The church of England has started to make reparation for being involved in slavery.

We are not responsible for slavery our relatives died in the mills and down the coal mines at the time in the industrial revolution.

Generally it is the rich and powerful that exploit people, the church should look after its own poor as many churches do.

The worse bike I owned for fettling was a Honda CBF1000 - well, the fairings. They came off well enough but to get the things back on you had to have been bitten by an octopus and been given super hero extra arms and an excellent knowledge of fruitful Anglo-Saxon vocabulary.

That looks like the weather we have had since yesterday morning. Actually, I can't hear the wind any more and I can't see outside because it is dark.
