What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all. Congratulations on your birthday Mrs Miggins and thank you for sharing that majestic art @dunelm it is breathtakingly splendid. @gennepher your creative today is also from the elite league so many thanks for sharing. Candlemas day is sending ambivalent cues as to the weather for the rest of winter. . We joined the payback for using less gas and electricity scheme so if we switch everything off for a few hours, say 2023 to 2030, we may earn a coffee (lowest caffeine please) somewhere. Deal with the slings and arrows in your own way today - I need more tea.

Good National Bin Day Morening Ladies and Gentleman

Blood Sugars yesterday a dreadful 4.0 then straight after a 4.2
Blood Sugars today a 5.0

Happy birthday to @dunelm ’s wife.
Now me, me’s and myself must away, things to do, places too ( two or to ) go and people to annoy. Been excused shopping duties this morning, Mrs J will be disappointed.

Stay safe all

@dunelm So sorry for your loss my condolences to you and yours. But hope your good lady has a happy a birthday as possible in the circumstances.

My fbg this morning was 6.6 I am not drawing any conclusions from that I am now just going to take things a day at a time Que Sera, Sera.

Oh yes I can see the Pope's shock troops of the warrior monks of the Knights Templar riding out the entrance with shining armour and bright colours.

Good morning everyone on another new day with new beginnings here in the dark and dangerous north. Today we have the great pleasure of the girl in the bubble’s company this morning. We will drop her off at nursery at lunch time - she only does two full days a week but seems to love it despite being quite tired afterwards. Today though, just a half day. I expect that toast and butter will be high on the list of things to engage with for her. I have just noticed a stain on the rug in the sitting room, best sort that out before it spreads and becomes a blot on the landscape. Art bit - another beginning. I hope that you have a splendid day. Best sort out that stain and then make koffy.

Enjoy the koffy and being a stain doctor but mostly enjoy the girl in the bubble. Thank you for the art and reminding me of Blot on the landscape - excellent cast - and the term sitting room. Now I must take tea to them upstairs - the maid is indisposed.

Thank you @ianpspurs - life between stairs - what a hoot. Reminds me, must call my underpanter.

On the nighttime wildlife camera...

Cat Merlin's busy night & the Fox

Foxy Loxy was in my back garden continuously for over 8 hours.
I think Merlin makes a hissing noise when this fox gets too close for his comfort.

The black cat you see with the few white hairs on its neck is Amy. If it were not for the wildlife trail nighttime cameras, I wouldn't know that Amy existed, or indeed was possibly living in my back garden (garage). She makes herself invisible.

Jade made several appearances, but I accidentally deleted them as I was editing.

I discovered the morning that the Foxy Loxy had been scratching the wet ground between my apple and pear trees for worms in between making appearances on camera. I also noticed that Foxy Loxy still keeps checking on me in my bedroom (the door is full length glass!).

Creative is me playing with colours (no colour here, it is dull outside with what looks like a snow sky) and I popped a tree in the middle and some seagulls...no rhyme or reason for this painting, except I needed colour...
Both cats in here.

Yesterday Midnight spent more time outside than he has done the last couple of months. I think he is trying to oversee 'his' garden against new stray cats, especially the new black Tom cat. But he spent all night with me keeping me warm.

Time for a cuppa.

Have your best day.

Enjoy time with the little one.
Another very promising start on the art.

A great lofty structure @dunelm

Greetings from somewhere only we know (I just like the song) on Super Salmon Salad Day. Bracing trip across the bleak fens to blow the cobwebs out of the venerable old RR yesterday but home in time for tea. @gennepher thanks for the creative. I will look for cats now the heating engineer has enough information to give a price to make one wince. Honneywell and a day's work were mentioned. Good news on less admin @Krystyna23040. Have the day you want or don't want but deal with as per the poem by the other Mr Kipling - he made an exceedingly good poem.

Thanks Ian
And for the lyrics

Thanks for the song and the poem, Ian. I've heard of the singer, but never really listened. Not too keen on her "little girl" voice but enjoyed the song. And yes, R Kipling did write some exceedingly good poems - especially that one.

FBG 12.9. Went a bit high last night - not much (8.7) and obviously carried on rising. Up earlier than usual (2.30 am) so maybe it would have gone higher given longer in bed. Under control now - down to 5.9.

Teachers are on strike here today, so Em will be coming to spend the day here once her mum goes to work. I need to make my bed, so I'll co-opt her as an assistant. Stripped it yesterday, but couldn't remake it so just had to lay on top of it last night, wrapped in a fleecy blanket. Gave up at 2.30 and spent the rest of the night in the kitchen chair as a result. It'll keep her busy for a few minutes anyway and she is a helpful little soul and she will be delighted to be given a job to do. Actually, not so little any more. She is almost up to her Dad's shoulder, only marginally shorter than her Mum and well past my shoulder height. Of course, I could be shrinking in my old age.

Warned Neil last night that, if things keep going as they are, despite my efforts (pathetic) at the "Move More" classes, it begins to look as though I will be completely unable to move in time and I'll need to rely on him more than ever. He seems quite comfortable with that - luckily. Neil and Alistair are both people who love to be needed and to be able to offer help. I don't think it's much of a character flaw.

Enjoy your time with Em. God moves in mysterious ways and seems to have worked it so you have a properly made bed to sleep on tonight and the company of a wonderful young lady. Those boys were obviously raised with love and want to reciprocate. Well done you.
