What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Interesting. However, I'm not sure about the autoimmune possibility, although it is suggested that other problems I have are due to just that and I really don't fancy the "poop" idea. I'm not sure that I am really capable of understanding the arguments put forward by scientists anyway. All I understand is what does and doesn't work for me. At present what does seems to be very low carb - I wish it were not so, but it is what it is. Currently struggling to find an appropriate level of insulin to take with food. I'm reducing and reducing and will soon be down to zero, but have no medical support to guide me. Just have to make my own choices and depend on Someone to watch over me and keep me right.

Best wishes for your data driven management of the T2 conundrum. I thought of you and those in your part of the world whilst reading this. From what you and others have said and written, beside Muir, this stood out and resonated. Very much like the version of Baptist teaching I was fed:
And God three angry letters in a book,
And there the logical hook
On which the Mystery is impaled and bent
Into an ideological argument.
Malcolm Guite's little essay (Word in the Wilderness) on this is brilliant.

Just so, Ian. Sad how we humans manage to just see the bits we want to see and don't seem to be capable of seeing the whole. Right at the beginning, when Tom's ancestor was a prime mover in establishing the Free Church, I'm sure he, and others like him, were looking for an escape from the doctrine that restricted their lives and worship and seeking freedom for their own consciences. Sad that it only led to more rigid interpretations and even more restrictions. Was that what the intention was? I have to wonder.

It's the same trap that all ideologues fall into. They interpret original thought in a way that suits them, sometimes establish a movement, set rigid parameters and become fanatic - thus harming both themselves (in the end) and others that follow behind them. Of course, the opposite is also true - without ideals, society becomes unworkable, harming its members. Balance is what we need in this world and Something to hold on to to maintain that balance.

Almost didn't post today, but just had a super offer on the QT, from a S Korean company.
(Can't mention the daily rate, obv, confidentiality, etc )

But let's just say it's more than enough to get one or two MPs out of bed for it.

& All I have to do is mention my sponsor .

So this am was a ok-ish 6.3.

Sure if I'd been covered by
"Itsu Wiiskam ®™ "
investment opportunities for the hard of thinking.
it would have been lower.

Goes to show, it ain't what ya know,
It's who ya know.

Toodle pip, chums

Fbg 6.5

On the nighttime trail camera

Badgers & Cats & Fox

Early evening all the cats try to get their share of the cat biscuits before badger, KissyKissy comes along and determinedly snaffles all their cat biscuits...

Cat, Midnight arrives predawn as the dawn chorus is starting, no biscuits left for him...

He had slept comfortably on my bed all night....

Creative is another lighthouse, #9

Time for a morning cuppa...
Have your best day

Great creative. Reminds me of a semi horror film I saw years ago. I think it was called "The Fog".

BG at 2.30 am was 6.0. A surprise because I had a sore throat last night and had a throat pastille. I was expecting at least 8.
Currently (8 am) 5.6, after 3 cups of tea with milk and some yoghurt with pills. Unfortunately, because Neil wasn't fit to go to town, I asked Alistair to get some milk and yoghurt for me. He came back with the right milk (full cream) but a zero fat Greek style yoghurt. Neil is feeling a bit better so he is going shopping today and will get the right one.

Unexpectedly, Em arrived this morning to get ready for school and have breakfast. Made bacon and egg for her. The smell of the bacon is making me hungry right now but I'll wait, at least until she has gone to school, for my breakfast.

5.9 this morning. It is really looking that I am almost back normal for me fbg.

Will stay with ultra low carbs for a bit longer as it seems to be working - even though it took until yesterday to get my first fbg in the 5s this year.

Yesterday we walked to our local market town. Stopped for a coffee at Starbucks and the dogs loved their puppuccinos.

Beautiful colours

Good morning everyone on an all things bright and beautiful start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Art room now decorated and floor about half done. Might get completed today given a steady wind. Before that though there is washing to hang on the line to take advantage of some free sunshine. Art bit, color added so that’s three basalts done, one more I think and then on to something else. No idea what, I am a person of whim (I moved there when Megrim-Vagary lost the red wall in a fit of pique). Anyhow, have the best day that you can and alway in the best possible taste according to the late, great Kenny Everett’s character whose name is perhaps best not mentioned. Koffy, must sort out some lofty.

A complete surprise to me - I have actually lost weight! Until the last time I weighed myself - about a month ago, my weight was climbing inexorably towards 19 stone. Actually 18 st 8 lb. I weighed myself today, just to see how much I had gained and I've lost 5 lb. I was hoping for the new almost zero carb woe to keep my weight steady as well as reduce my insulin requirement, but didn't dare hope for a reduction.

brilliant news @Annb

Good Morening Ladies and Gentleman and all climbed trees as a child and also still climb trees when not supervised.

A 6.2 on that meter this morning.

Well where are we going and what are we doing who knows life is a mystery. Here in covid central the results are still +ve and Mrs J is now saying you can test +ve for up to 90 days, the phrase “always look on the bright side of life” is running around my empty head, lots of vacant space.

My eldest grandson is off on a school trip today to jolly old France, probably to learn the gentle art protesting, he is scheduled to return on Friday, I’m certain he will have a great time. He has been to France a few times, his other grand parents have a property in France and he has been a few times.

Now I must finish my safety koffy and depart, have a great day all.

Morning everyone from a sunny, wonderfully blue skied Little America. Swipey offered 5.2 @ 7.00 (I'm obviously still adjusting my body clock) but what my fbg was or what that means can't be deduced. @dunelm thanks for another wonderful piece of Bassalt art - is that a genre? Rapid progress on that garage conversion. @gennepher thanks for the creative , sulphurous sky or not. @Krystyna23040 wonderful news on the 5s and going to Starbucks - are they. perhaps, connected? @Annb star of the day. Fbg and weight being tamed. @jjraak you can keep Potter thanks. Looks like either Levy/Uncle Joe has been rebuffed by Negelsman/Potch/guy at the local Chicken shop or the rumours of a takeover are right. Kaching Joe. @alf_Josiah is today the day?* Boat Races went well so a bijou glassette of Tempranillo was in order since I can't take it with me. Polly and the Phenols are trending lately. Enjoy your day as much as possible but do remember you have responsibilities as well as rights.
*just read your post so obviously not
