Just heard - Em and her mum had a fantastic day in London yesterday. Nearly didn't - their tickets to "War of the Worlds" was electronic on DIL's phone, which ran out of charge. They went back to the hotel to recharge it and were 40 minutes late getting to the venue. They thought they might not be allowed in (I'm told that Em was being very brave about it and assuring her mum it would be OK - they'd find some other fun thing to do but it was an obvious disappointment) but the staff at the venue were so impressed at their long journey to get there that they managed to squeeze them in to a later showing and even made sure that the meal they had ordered was kept aside for them. So good of them. They're due back this evening and will, I imagine, be exhausted.

Good morning everyone on a sunshine start to Belthane here in the dark and dangerous north. Don’t forget to decorate your pets and front door with yellow flowers and ribbons. I have youth restoring Belthane Dew from a local well for only twenty quid a sip - far better value than that drink which was all the craze for a while a few weeks ago. The Ninky Nonks and Little Miss Pamplemouse depart this morning - it’s been a fun packed weekend and they did manage to make sand castles on the beach in the sunshine yesterday. Art bit, detailing finished. Colour tomorrow. Hope your blank holly day is a good one. I shall now make koffy.

Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all those trying to synchronise calendars

A straight 6.0 this morning.

The great outside and tasks are calling along with the possibility of bacon, vegan of course and eggs for breakfast.

Whatever the weather, rejoice April is history and May is yet a baby with a busy life in front of it.

Full supervision mode has been activated here in Tilehurst Towers for today at least and tasks allocated. Also the sofa will get lonely with no chance of me joining it in the lounge.

Now stay safe all and remember to wind up the clock work television for all the media hype leading up to the coronation of King Charles, I bet the Kennel Club are happy someone is naming a King after dog.

It's a bank holiday but I have been given a podiatry appointment for this morning. I just hope I don't get there to find the place shut. BG was 4.5 when I went to bed about 11.30 last night and 8.5 when I got up at 3.30 this morning. Now it's 11.1. Somehow, I don't think I'm managing this condition very well. Still haven't decided what to do about breakfast, but I'll have to soon.

Morning all on the Feast of Saints Philip and James. Good names for boys. I have wonderful photos of Mayday celebrations from mid to late 1930's in The Old Country including my dad and uncle dressed somewhat like Andy Pandy - about 20 years early. Swipey greeted me with 3.8 but I'll go with the slightly later 4.3. Happy enough with (either) fbg but Fitbit data suggests that trip to u-know-where will be "challenging." I went to the meal and wisely didn't have the set Sunday roast - (leek and cheddar Frittata + salad for me). I also saw the house that has been chosen. Sofa will "challenge" my skeleton that already has its own problems which wrong seating severely impacts. Food choices/places to eat of the other 19 people won't work either - huge problem for at least 3 planned events - effectively whole days. I haven't been to that area for twenty years so life will? have moved on but my "how bad can it actually be?" attitude has evaporated after yesterday and those stats. MIL's wheelchair and assorted needs will limit what we can take even if we took the VRR. No Ocado delivery and no W. Not quite NT Aus but .... Anyhow, @dunelm good news that the grandchildren made sandcastles and thanks for that art. My granddaughter brought Trevor (cuddly rabbit we bought her brother one Easter who astonished us all with that name) who enjoyed the meal - he likes caterpillar from the play park and the playground equipment. @Annb hug for the bg issues, wonderful news that Em's trip was so good. Hope the podiatrist proves useful. Enjoy your day all, mine will at least feature a trip to the recycling centre - book early is my advice.

7.1 this morning. Interesting that it is following the same pattern as when I first went low carb and came off insulin.

Low carb worked for a while then didn't so I went back on insulin then it did work and I had to come off insulin.

It carried on like that for months before finally I was off insulin for years until my disastrous experiment with the higher carbs this year.

Now I seem to be gently rollercoasting between 5s, 6s and 7s. Hopefully it will eventually stay in the 4s and 5s. At least I am staying away from the 10s, 11s and 12s that I was getting in Jan/Feb so am grateful for that.

Bluebells at Blickling Hall were stunning yesterday. We had a lovely walk, met and chatted to some really friendly fellow dog walkers and enjoyed relaxing with a coffee in the Muddy Boots Cafe afterwards. Mr K enjoyed his NT sausage roll. So did the dogs.

MrSlim declared he is dying of boredom and will never get fit if he doesn't go back to work. So he is hauling (carefully) heavy ladders and attempting to finish off the cider press roof. He is still moving slowly and to me its a bit too soon for heavy work. I only hope he does not attempt to catch up the nearly three weeks work he has been unable to tackle due to back pain. The next job on his list is splitting the huge walnut and cherry logs... I think not. Find something less physically demanding, please.
Went for a walk round the paddock with Kiki last night she got herself stuck up a tree again. It seems pushing through mistletoe only works one way. Anyway after I had coaxed her most of the way down she lost her grip and fell - right into my arms. I was very pleased with her because she remembered to keep her claws in. Although that must have been against all her instincts.
The moles whose activity drove me to purchase poision and repulsive a couple of months ago, paused their activities immediately, but have started up again now. Targeting  only the interior of my greenhouse. The vegetable beds nearby are undisturbed.

The Practice was open so my toes are now much more comfortable than they were and we arrived back to find ... our oil had been delivered! A day early. Wonderful. Just turned the thermostat back up to 16. Don't intend to spoil ourselves by putting it to 19 or 20. A lot of pots and pans waiting to get washed now that we can get a sinkful of hot water.

Just turned the thermostat back up to 16. Don't intend to spoil ourselves by putting it to 19 or 20. A lot of pots and pans waiting to get washed now that we can get a sinkful of hot water.

Bit risky poisoning moles and keeping cats, anything that eats moles could be poisoned. Even other people's cats.
Mole catchers tend to use traps and you only take out your target species, a friend took out my mole problem, a trap is swift.
