Hate to disagree with such a venerable member, but the traps were not swift in catching Burgess, Philby, Mclean and Blunt. Hehehe

Nighttime Wildlife Cameras

Two Badgers in my Back Garden - KissyKissy (the one nosing the swing) and his mate. It is only KissyKissy (in the last 6 months of recording) who has shown an interest in the swing and everything on it. No other badger in my garden has shown an interest in that swing, which was exclusively the cats domain.
Watching KissyKissy stand up straight on his hind legs, at one point (with his mate pootling around down below), he looks so graceful, and he is not using the swing for assistance to stand up on his hind legs.


Creative is the wild garlic in my back garden, digitally painted in Procreate,
But it is not finished, not what I wanted it to look like. I wanted a more delicate like drawing, like pen and ink drawing with watercolour type effect.

But I ran out of time, because last night I couldn't find my phone which I'd used to take photographs of all the different wildflowers in my garden.

I usually make a start with a digital painting the night before, and I finish it off in the morning of posting depending on the mood I'm in, which is how it usually goes.

Then, in bed, at the actual hour of midnight, I realised my phone was on the blue bench in the garden, I had just put it down for a moment because I had no pockets on me. I did not turn the lights on. I shot out as fast as I could flailing two crutches. I had visions of Foxy Loxy finding my phone and looking at it and thinking ooh all these lovely things to order on Amazon....
I flung the back door open, and in the darkness I crashed into Foxy Loxy and Midnight having a dispute. Both animals fled...

And I homed into my phone in the darkness on the blue bench (which I am thinking of painting lime green next week)....

Phew....

I needed that phone because I had booked for, and paid for something this morning and the receipt was on the phone...

No time to explain, I am running late now, and I need to be on time.

I have dictated this, because I do not have time to type, and knowing spellcheck and grammar check and AI's inventiveness with my voice, it might not quite make sense, but will have to do until I come back this afternoon...

Glad you got your phone before sly mr fox got onto Amazon. Lovely artwork. I made chicken broth with wild garlic leaves last night. Not many flower heads to sprinkle on just yet but by next week there should be lots.
 
Good morning everyone from a bit of an overcast start here in the dark and dangerous north. A nice quiet start though as the grandchildren departed yesterday. The twins are at school today - but not Little Miss Pamplemouse as her teacher is on strike. My doctor has just called (I know!) to see how my blood pressure and peak flow readings are going. He is increasing my losartan from 25 to 50mg. Amlodipine stays at 5mg. Should get a call this week to go in for tests and then an appointment in a week or so which he will set up. Art bit - colour added so am now looking for something else to do. Hope your bank holiday was good to you and that all your todays are kind. I simply must finish this koffy before it loses more heat.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, those of a questionable nature please sort yourselves out then decide if you are either a Lady or Gentleman, me, me’s and myself identify as a Neanderthal on a good day.

Blood sugars were 5.5 this morning, lucky, me thinks, I have to drive to the doctors this morning for a routine warfarin blood test and I didn’t want a reading below 5.0 . The last time I went for a blood test they sprung a shed or armful of other blood tests on me, so this morning I’m not prepared.

Life, the universe and everything is progressing, possibly not as a few of us would wish, but we must wave two fingers to the wind, authority and self proclaimed authority while doing our own thing, hopefully bring a smile to a strangers face.
That’s enough sanctimonious preaching from me.

Good morning from an almost spring like L.A . Time to search out the shorts and secret socks - says the guy wearing a vest (UV stabilised tee shirt, actually - each way bet), flannel shirt and goose down gilet. My fbg is a mystery as Swipey needs replacing by Abbott - mostly won't rise higher than 3.6 except for a random 7. Don't think it was the 2.9 initial swipe. @gennepher stunning art even if you yourself wanted more/different.so thanks. @dunelm good that your GP contacted you and changed medication. That is a glorious piece of art so many thanks for sharing. @Krystyna23040 good news on the dental appointment. Coronations are trending this week - will your crown be like this? I picture you as a serene, majestic presence. Best wishes for you and especially the staff involved @alf_Josiah Have a great day, put up bunting and plan your quiche (I do) - salmon and local asparagus for me (Keto chef frozen pastry, natch). Let's never mention broad beans again. Far too blazing saddles, no business in one's mouth and certainly not in a quiche. O.K. for the - non pedigree - livestock though.

I went out this morning because yesterday I suddenly decided to order one of those 'too good to go' breakfasts, supposedly reduced from their regular price. And reduced price, it cost £2:79. It was a normal English breakfast, they did do vegetarian but I booked an English breakfast. I was given a time of 11:15 to turn up and I was going to sit in the car in front of the Parkgate wetlands where there's a wild bird reserve, to eat it.

But as I got there, the time changed to half an hour later so that was hanging about. And they had a weird car parking system in the car park at the pub. You had to go and log your car number on a screen or you would get fined a lot of money. So I have to figure that out. Go into the pub where the bar was and there's four different screens facing you and you enter your car number details and then it says is this the correct car number and you say yes and they said okay you can park it while you in the pub.

I didn't feel happy about it.

Anyway guy came out gave me my breakfast which I paid for, when I reserved it. And I went out with my breakfast and parked in front of the marshes where I could see some egrets. I didn't like the meat sausage very much it was very spicy with a lot of herbs and things. And I left that and the rest of the other sausage to give to the animals when I got home The rest of the breakfast seemed fine. But I already had wind and heartburn from the bit of the sausage that I'd eaten. It wasn't until I got home and I opened up the sausage and looked at it properly and I realised it was textured protein of some sort. It was a vegetarian sausage and I just cannot eat those they do not agree with me. Wind and heartburn I get with those kind of things.

I check my blood sugars because I felt that they had gone up, and they had to quite a lot, which they should not have done with a normal English meat breakfast.

I am trying to find out online if textured protein raises blood sugars but I can't find a proper answer on that, just that soy is very good for diabetics on the links that I looked at. Something had raised my blood sugar to 13.2 and whether that's the trapped wind or heartburn that did that, or did the chef put some stuff in the sauces in the tomatoes or the baked beans, or something else in the textured protein I had no idea.

This was supposed to be my new weekly adventure for me. Going to different 'too good to go' places which offered breakfast and that would have me doing a bit of driving and going to a few different places. This has put me off completely. I would much sooner have been at home today sitting on my couch looking at my birds, looking at my little dunnocks and my little female dunnock has just now found a male dunnock, and watching the magpie and male blackbird and more. I'd soon be at home looking all those I don't need to sit on the edge of a wetland looking in the distance (which I need binoculars for, and don't have) at an eagret buried deep in the reed bed, all the while having heartburn and wind from stupid vegetarian sausages substitute for a proper meat sausage.

I can sit right next to my birds, I do not need binoculars to see them. I can almost touch them.

Having a long afternoon nap now to get rid of the disappointment of this morning ...And to add insult to injury, the actual breakfast in the pub itself, was £5.79 and it was an all you can eat buffet, meaning that you could choose several eggs, and several rashers of bacon if that was your fancy. It was not worth the drive there and back and petrol to get this breakfast.


I am going back to being a reclusive hermit....
 
Quiche and real men don’t eat quiche. Where on earth did you find that little of nugget of nonsense?
Ditch the pastry eat the filling, must be low ish carb then get stuck into the high carb beer hehehe.
 
BG started off at 8.9 (3.30 am) and rose to 13.5 . Insulin (less than yesterday morning) and picked at some smoked salmon for breakfast. BG didn't come down far enough so I took a correction dose around lunchtime. Expecting visitors so I decided to make low carb scones (one of them is T2 and won't eat any carbs). I've always had a problem with almond, but decided to try again to see if I've got over it. I haven't. Very under the weather for a while, but managed to keep some paracetemol down and felt a bit better. Better enough to entertain my guest this evening anyway.
 
My blood sugars have now gone up to 15.9 from that earlier figure of 13.2 when I came home.

I have not had anything to eat since I came back from that disastrous breakfast at midday. Been drinking tea and water.

I have no idea what to do at this point, except I will never eat outside of my house again.
