Hi Ian,@lindisfel am I right in assuming you are another June baby? Early congratulations and enjoy your time with your daughter. I share my birthday with the UKs worst ever PM and a cousin of mine - ridiculous to sublime there. @dogslife I hope Thursday's appointment is helpful for you. @Annb take it easy with the cleaning but I'm sure Neil will help. Thanks for the good wishes for JKP. No Dioralyte in this town but we brought 1 sachet back. We do have plenty of bottled water and access to my "stoppers" in extremis.. Not sure if this would be helpful but as a wider marginal gain may interest some - key ingredient in my salad dressing but cost has risen alarmingly since last big box ordered.

I bought myself a very long-handled dustpan and brush which allows me to do small sweeping jobs - saves me bending and I can use it sitting on my rollator so I don't even need to stand up.Would you like me to lend you my labradors @Annb. Your kitchen floor would be totally flour and crumb free in seconds.
It can be really useful - although it wasn't this morning. I gave both Archie and Poppy their monthly tick and flea tablets. Archie dropped his and Poppy grabbed it. Luckily I was able to extract it from her mouth before she swallowed it.Kiki might do a similar job. She searches the floor for anything remotely edible.
Hope JKP feels a lot better very soon. Very interesting article on ACV.@lindisfel am I right in assuming you are another June baby? Early congratulations and enjoy your time with your daughter. Your friends are so lucky that you make such wonderful food for them @AnnbI dozed for about half an hour and then got stuck in. The Syrian lady turned out to be Afghani but the same restriction applied. There were 6 visitors altogether - just as well I'd made plenty. My diabetic friend enjoyed the oatcakes and took a whole load of them away with her (I can't eat them, so just as well for her to take them). She preempted me in offering to take them home with her as I was putting cupcakes into containers for the children of the Afghan lady and the Thai lady (one of the extras). However, she wouldn't even try the zero carb muffins I'd made. or the salad (wrong mayonnaise contaminating it). I don't want anyone to be ill after eating my food, of course, but I wish I'd known the parameters before hand. On the whole though, it went well and they've all gone away rejoicing.
So far today I've eaten one zero carb cheesey biscuit , one zero carb muffin and one oatcake (BG started to drop too low - nothing better than an oatcake to fix that for me) and a few cups of tea. There's all that left-over food and I'm not hungry!
Edit: the muffin wasn't zero carb - it was low carb. The only sweetener was a banana and some very dark chocolate in 6 muffins.
Perhaps you shouldn't make the greenhouse mangetout work so hard @SlimLizzyOops the mangetout will be from the garden... the greenhouse mangetout are nearly exhausted.
You couldn't possibly could you ...poor manI dont dare tell him those are the wrong seeds
You seem to be far too busy, @Annb.Neil just discovered that the washing machine is leaking - not flooding but a fair amount of water on the floor. I save up the white cottons and wash them on the hottest setting (expensive, but that's why I don't do it very often). That's what I did today and the machine doesn't seem to like it! We'll have to see what it's like at lower temperatures.
Happy birthday Derek.Hi Ian,
In 1939 June 6th was apparently one of the hottest days of the year, according to mother.
Sometimes I wish I could time travel and see what it was like in those long lost days.
D.
How annoyingly annoyingNespresso machine is leaking again. Spent half an hour this morning trying to get it sorted with customer services. It didn't go well - which was annoying as I have an early start on a Monday. We have to do some tests and then report back to them.
I pointed out that these tests would have been done before they returned the machine to me last week - but they still insist I do them again.
Hugs & best wishes for JKP's speedy recovery.JKP has been smitten with the gastric bug quite badly but so far MIL is fine. I have some tablets, for both exit issues given at the start of my treatment in case of side effects (I haven't had any), which are very effective
Hugs for the hassles, but good you got an appointment, shames it's not a next day one, when surely of such concern to youGood morning all. Had a reply text from the doctor I had sent my message to last week. ( He doesn't usually work in the centre on Mondays so maybe he answered from home?) Anyway he said he's seen my lab results and advised me to make an appointment with a doctor to discuss them. I rang straight away. After waiting foer 30 mins. I got through to the receptionist. There are no appointments available with the doctor whose been trialing different treatments but I have an appointment with another doctor on Thursday morning so I'll see what happens then. Hey Ho! Best wishes to you all for a good week ahead.
Looks peaceful, and amazing @jjraakMorning all.
Almost the end of our hols, but both of us agree, we fell in love with Lesbos.
Such a warmth to the people here & even the tourists have been super friendly.
Fbgs have circled 7+ most days I've tested, so wagon clearly needs to be got back on once home.
We travelled more on hope then expectations we might see some of the island .
But the mix of thermal springs, swimming, sunshine, eased the pain & discomfort in my leg.
We met new friends & join them on trips out, & with their help managed to explore a good bit of the island.
So here's a pic of yesterday's 'Bay of the Day'
And a hilltop view of our little part of heaven.
(Note mount in centre of pic, church of Petra built on volcanic rock )
Best wishes for a good day, all.
