I dozed for about half an hour and then got stuck in. The Syrian lady turned out to be Afghani but the same restriction applied. There were 6 visitors altogether - just as well I'd made plenty. My diabetic friend enjoyed the oatcakes and took a whole load of them away with her (I can't eat them, so just as well for her to take them). She preempted me in offering to take them home with her as I was putting cupcakes into containers for the children of the Afghan lady and the Thai lady (one of the extras). However, she wouldn't even try the zero carb muffins I'd made. or the salad (wrong mayonnaise contaminating it). I don't want anyone to be ill after eating my food, of course, but I wish I'd known the parameters before hand. On the whole though, it went well and they've all gone away rejoicing.abetic frienBG at 4.30 am was 10.9 and a short time ago, 11.4. On my 2nd cup of tea and trying to motivate myself to get going with today's tasks (finishing off the food for "afternoon tea"). Dishwasher was put on at 4.30 and is ready to be emptied. Washing machine was only put on half an hour ago, so it will be a short time yet before it is ready to empty. I suppose I could do something about breakfast but I'm not really bothered about eating yet. I ended up just picking little bits from my baking to check for flavour and texture but not actually eating anything other than a few bits of Gouda yesterday, so I should be hungry. In fact, I'm just tired and drooping. Time to finish my tea and decide whether to push myself or doze in the chair for a while.
So far today I've eaten one zero carb cheesey biscuit , one zero carb muffin and one oatcake (BG started to drop too low - nothing better than an oatcake to fix that for me) and a few cups of tea. There's all that left-over food and I'm not hungry!
Edit: the muffin wasn't zero carb - it was low carb. The only sweetener was a banana and some very dark chocolate in 6 muffins.
