It is too hot @gennepher. I especially love the colours in today's kaleidoscopeFbg 6.7
Nighttime wildlife video
The night of the badgers...the male appears to be scent marking his female.
Creative is a kaleidoscope of a flowering teasel which the bees love. And also the baby sparrows. They eat the little insects on them. And they drink the water held where the leaves join the stem. We are having rain nightly, so all is being watered.
This current group of baby sparrows are playing/flying/chasing each other immediately outside my open bedroom door, less than a metre away from me. Two baby sparrows have just flown straight up to my open doorframe and stopped dead, both hovering as if an invisible barrier, and both peered round my room, and still hovering they looked at me.I looked at them. They looked at each other and appeared to say, "So this is how the human, who fills the bird feeders lives". And they both turned round and flew away. I am still an object in a zoo, even though the door is open...
Too hot for me. My bedroom was 27° C in the night despite me having usual fans etc going. I needed that bedroom door wide open...
When I opened it from the outside this morning (it opens outwards into the garden) this overwhelming blast of a wall of hot air hit me!
Have your best day.
A cuppa and a nap needed now.

That is really annoying @Annb. Does person usually have memory isdues?8.9 at 4 am. 2 cups of tea later (9.15) it is 12.7. Insulin and breakfast shortly.
Loads of choice for breakfast because the expected visitors didn't come yesterday. I had expanded on my main meal of the day so that guests could have some and I would be able to eat with them. Also made some oatcakes and shortbread which I, of course wouldn't be having. Then, nobody came. The person who had decided to bring others in her car, forgot all about it and hadn't even told anyone about the arrangement. Might not be able to get through all the salads before they go off. But I'll make my best effort!
This frequent "visitation" is for a group of us, every so often, to get together to read scriptures and say prayers for whatever we feel needs them most at the time. Can be Christian, Buddhist, Baha'i, Moslem - whatever. Recently, my house has been the venue because I can't get into houses with steps. This might be changing because another of the group is now bed-bound. There are 3 steps down into her entrance which I am going to have to try to manoeuvre. I'm going to give it a try anyway.
I think I would be inclined in your position @Annb to telephone one (in this case the woman with the car) or a few of them, and just say, not are you all coming, but "oh, I am baking now (you haven't started baking yet by the way, and say a couple of things you are thinking of baking and say), do you think we need a bit more, how about I make ....(your specialty dish)" If any unexpected guests, you can always ask about allergies, intolerances, religious requirements whatever. Do that each time in some way, your way of saying things, and that should prevent you being letdown in this way.8.9 at 4 am. 2 cups of tea later (9.15) it is 12.7. Insulin and breakfast shortly.

Just an idea x
Thanks @ianpspursMorning all how you 'doin? @Annb I gave you a winner for being such a thoughtful, caring host and the reason for the gathering which is obviously one I wholeheartedly endorse. Could so easily have been a hug - where's the elbow bump icon? @gennepher's suggestion of a gentle reminder in future seems ideal. @gennepher hug for the heat problems and thank you so much for sharing that sublime Teasel kaleidoscope - two colours I like greatly. To me it looks like something that could illustrate a Narnia story - the Fox, the Badger and the Teasel? @dunelm thanks for sharing the starter for 10 - next round Tour de D and D? Thoughts and prayers with those athletes hill climbing in this heat, especially after the recent death in Switzerland. @Krystyna23040 good news on both Archie and the air con. I miss the air con/heating in the conservatory back in The Old Country. We do have ceiling fans in the lynge and master bedroom - one benefit of buying a house previously rented to US service people. Many houses here have air con - #1 son's does. Initially, I wanted the fans out but I'm glad I didn't. The one in our bedroom works really well. I normally sleep far better in summer anyhow - because I'm a summer baby? Duvets and ludicrous layers are madness I tell 'ya, madness. (Right up there with neck ties, double cuffs and socks.) I slept 3-4 hrs longer today which fitbit seemed to love. Have a well hydrated 5 S day y'all.
Sounds like a wonderful day. Delighted for you. Why do I imagine you as a yappy scrum half and wicketkeeoer?Good Morening Ladies and Gentleman and those in their youth played sport of whatever type.
Blood sugars this morning were a respectable 5.6, no kneed to break out the number crunching equipment.
Yesterday I was treated to a tour of Twickers or HQ as is sometimes known, luckily I was driven up and back, the traffic deity was kind, the salad lunch was good, the company first class, the tour guide knowledgeable and amusing. The last time I was at Twickers was 1965 or so. The place has been rebuilt since then. Being an old rugby player the place rekindled so many memories.
Now stay safe, stay cool and hopefully the attached picture should have the caption “ a lowly scrum half awaits the line out ball “
She is always so busy trying to help everyone who comes into her orbit and needs help, at the same time dealing with "special needs" pupils and keeping in touch with her family all over the world. She spreads herself too thinly but is always cheerful and smiling and willing to drop everything for someone with an urgent need. I often find myself at the end of the queue for being remembered, but then she knows I don't hold any resentment for that. I make myself easy to forget, I suppose. I have heard her described as an angel. Smart though she is, there is only so much that a single brain can hold on to.That is really annoying @Annb. Does person usually have memory isdues?

How disappointing, and rude, unintentional or not .8.9 at 4 am. 2 cups of tea later (9.15) it is 12.7. Insulin and breakfast shortly.

When the venue is changed, I will be dependent on my forgetful friend for a lift - the bed-bound lady lives about 20 miles away from me. Everyone here is pretty well spaced apart which is why we all depend on one or two people with cars. We also used Zoom quite often, but face to face is good as often as possible. How disappointing, and rude, unintentional or not .
Think @gennepher idea is perfect.
Hoping the change of venue is manageable for you
Although we don't have air con in the conservatory we had a solid insulated roof installed which has made a huge difference and it is now useable all year round.I miss the air con/heating in the conservatory back in The Old Country
Yes, you are right - there is only so much a single brain can hold onto.
