What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all. Happy birthday for yesterday @gennepher, thanks for the creative and enjoy your time with your daughter. Happy birthday NHS who are keeping me going thanks be to God. This seems like a good cause. @dunelm shame about the Aswan affair but thanks for sharing the art. @Krystyna23040 I hope the advertised storms and tree falls didn't affect any journey home you may have taken. @lindisfel hope all went well yesterday. Splendid fireworks here yesterday a shame the weather wasn't better for the day. Cooler and dampish so far this week but hardly enough rain to do any good. Farmers still irrigating in the half- hearted showers. @alf_Josiah hugs for you and Mrs A J on what I assume is a very poignant day - sorry if I've misunderstood.

Realised there was no way I would get to sleep with the level of pain in my legs so took painkillers last night at 12.15. Got to bed at about 12.30 and did manage to sleep after a while but woke up at 4 am and had to get up. Went to the cupboard to get a new Libre sensor but discovered that my cupboard was like Mother Hubbard's. It did have a box of needles in it, which I had mistaken for a Libre box. At least I shan't run out of needles for a while. Ordered more sensors (e-mail to the surgery) and have just received their e-mail telling me that it is ordered and I can collect it is 7 days. It won't be that long but meantime I am back to fingerpricks. I had to take tghe last sensor off my arm for the scan. The radiologist was surprised that I couldn't just put it back on again. Another 8.9 this morning . Not too bad although that was after only one meal all day yesterday, at breakfast. It was a kind of baked pain perdu with cheese and didn't put BG too high (it was only about 15 g carbs). Guess that's my liver being playful again.
 
Luckily Mr K chauffeured me to classes yesterday. It was lovely to relax and let the expert drive.

I am exactly the same @Annb . Coffee is completely relaxing rather than stimulating.

I did read that coffee affects people that way who have a certain gene. I think actually it is quite a rare gene.

Both Neil and Alistair drink coffee rather than tea. Both black and unsweetened. Neil finds it very helpful when his Blood pressure drops to an uncomfortable level. A cup of coffee raises it to a normal level. No idea how that works.
 
Morning all, yesterday was very tiring and we decided to go out for our meal and both of us had very juicy sirloin steaks which took some time to digest.
The inflammation in her leg continues and she will have to use some support, steroid cream occasionally and wait for attention by a vascular surgeon as back pressure on the capillaries is causing the inflammation.

Glad the steak was juicy and hope the wait for the surgeon isn't too long. PBWY both.

Good call on eating out and the juicy sirloin. I hope that the appointment with a vascular surgeon happens quickly.

7.4 this morning. Ho hum.

Cleaning day today and hopefully I can maybe spend an hour tidying the garden after the viscous wind (not me) that has made my garden, (nearly said, front garden!) a windswept landscape! It's not that big!
Is it summer?
It was reported on the square box this morning that Monday was the highest temperature for the world. Not here it's been really cold, really wet, really windy, really autumn! I'm sure my roses would welcome some heat, maybe mid twenties please?

Contacted my surgery this morning, as to where my physiotherapy treatment was, cos, despite being told I was being referred, nowt! I received a text not long after, I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon with the surgery's new physio!!!!!!
Remarkable! Didn't know we had one!

Hug for the weather in your area. Just hanging on to shorts and no socks temperatures here - edge of Suffolk (pigs, stud farms and USAF), Norfolk (edge of the grain barons fiefdom) and Cambs (salad, spuds, sugar beet and protein crops - peas and beans) . A unique area (SPA) named Breckland - very dry and mild climate but not as fertile as The Real Fens ™ from whence I hail. Amazing change in soil colour, vegetation and agriculture on the outskirts - happens in two fields at the edges of 2 or 3 particular villages. Hope the physio is useful after the wait.

I am having a nap while my daughter is marking some of her students! Luckily my mobile internet connection is holding up for her!

I think the baked potatoes smell ready...
