Okay, that's my plan for this year's Xmas day!!!!That brandy soaked fruit cake will probably last for years - I would probably open it on Christmas Day and smother with double or even a thick soured cream. What an indulgance!
Excuse me, does that mean one over fox equals badger over one?Fbg 6.8
The male blackbirds were fighting a locked battle viciously mid air yesterday and kept crashing into my glass door which I had not yet opened. Thud, thud, thud. I ended up in my front room where I opened a window for fresh air. If I had opened my bedroom door as I usually do, the fighting blackbirds would have landed on me and Midnight...
My bedroom door is open this morning. No fighting birds. The blackbirds must have sorted the dispute.
Wildlife camera.
Fox - where's my boiled egg? Badger - I'm getting it for you! Just let me have a play with it first...
This particular fox and badger do have a reciprocal relationship...

Creative - still using those cheaper inks. I like what they do.
Now to make a coffee...

These little mountains do tear holes in the clouds at times.I have been up Blencathra on a warm, sunny day and seeing it all overcast or raining to the W and NW - similar views west towards the coast from the top of Scafell Pike. Mind you there could be a miserable surprise down into Wasdale which may tempt one to turn back towards the Dungeon Gill rather than the pub in Wasdale.
Oh dear...those Inscribe ones you can't get any more?Thank you @gennepher. Glad the pipettes are OK - I am expecting mine today! I have Marie’s Chinese watercolours and they OK for me. I still have some of my mothers old solid chinese inks but can’t find any replacements. They are in little Petri dish affairs which are useful for mixing ink.

Haven't a clue...Excuse me, does that mean one over fox equals badger over one?
Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those suffering a slow start to the day.According to news reports, the new variant is causing a stir in the experts views. And the proposed vaccination for this winter, is already being looked at, because of a certain protein has evolved in the virus. Hopefully, we just don't need another epidemic, pandemic, flu or cold to go around. Mainly because we still have not learned the lessons of preparedness for another round. This was made clear, with the covid enquiry statement about how the government response was completely inept!
Thanks IanMorning all from another dry, sunny day here. I've always considered August 31 to signal the end of summer but may bring that forward this year. Shame about the Lionesses but definitely a blessing for the goal scorerPorchetta yesterday was a glorious riot of taste and pleasure. I hope the cold version will be even better today since I always find cold pork more flavoursome. The Sicilian chicken on Saturday didn't float my boat but the other two liked it. @dunelm enjoy TGIB and a slower pace of grandchild care today. Thanks for sharing the art. @gennepher interesting to see fox and badger living harmoniously. Thanks for sharing the the creative. I'm liking the (more muted?) colours but then I'm a very odd chap. Our bulk shopping will come soon. We do use bricks and mortar shops but always use scan and go if available, which it is in local Sainsbury and Waitrose, then pay by watch. So much easier. I need to monitor what some newish food/recipes do to my bg so a New Swipey will be needed - what larks we do have. Enjoy your day as far as lies within your control.
Sounds as though all the love and care you gave yesterday has taken a toll so gently does it today sounds like a plan. Good to know - hope I'm right - the dishwasher issue has been fixed. Peace be with you.8.6 this morning at 3.30. Pills. Tea. Tried to sit in the chair but couldn't find a comfortable position so went back to bed until 6 am. BG 9.4. Neil came along and emptied the dishwasher and refilled it - it finished the programme a short time ago so need emptying again. I'll see what I can do. Did manage to empty the washing machine and put the next load in and even managed to stay on my feet long enough to load the wet wash into the tumble dryer. But that's it. Legs and feet are complaining too much so I think I'll need to be a bit careful today. Did some of my Move More class on Zoom but took a lot of breaks. Better than nothing. 11.35 mow, so I'd better do something about food and such.
I think if a badger came across a young fox cub underground it would have it in a pie! Thanks Ian
I do have quite a bit of footage that suggests this harmonious living between fox and badger.
I think I have foxes and badgers that are friendly with each other...I think if a badger came across a young fox cub underground it would have it in a pie!
Thank you @ianpspurs and TGIB is definitely less work - happily playing in the garden at presentMorning all from another dry, sunny day here. Oh yes - my clever Neil lay on the floor for much of that day in little puddles of water from the dishwasher but by the end of the day, he had fixed it. Next thing to fix is the toaster, which has decided to retire. He hasn't got to it yet because he's a bit off colour (trying to get the right level of meds for his blood pressure worked out) because it is less important. I don't make toast any more and he can do without. We do seem to be running into a period where things break down though. Wonder what will be next.Sounds as though all the love and care you gave yesterday has taken a toll so gently does it today sounds like a plan. Hi Lamont,7.0 aaaagggh!
Rollercoaster bloods!
Good news, sit in shower unit to be fitted as soon as it is assigned to the contractors. Yay!
Back door rail finished this morning. And another rail in the hall to be fitted.
Chores done, shopping got, forgot butter for Mrs L toast but don't tell her!r
it doesn't know what to do out in the garden, cloudy, sunny, a bit of drizzle, might get snow later!!!!
But want to be in the garden like yesterday afternoon, a beautiful August evening in the sun.
@alf_Josiah I have always been interested in our parliamentary (so called) democracy! I have my history fascination and my industrial life of work, coming from poverty. It is important to me to see what is happening!
I wish that the wider population could understand how bad our society is!
It is now, totally broken!
I wish as well that I could ignore it!
Now, religion to me is totally different, I have never understood what the social advantage is to be literally beholden to a mythical super being or God! Or his messenger! I use the word logical in many areas of life.
In my experience of poverty, what I have experienced in life and death and the inexplicable reasons of suffering and the imperfection of our existence, how any beneficial diety would or could allow innocent victims of cruelty or enforced cruelty be a part of life? It is a much deeper than I have described.
If there is a diety, why are their so many opposing religions? Why are there different religions within religions?
Wouldn't the most powerful of all the gods demand that the others be forgotten?
And what if anything is the point of a religion other than power over people?
My best wishes to you and your gods. (Just in case!)
