What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Splendid news all round.

Very dark. Reminds me of Prince Prospero hiding in his abbey.

Good morning everyone from what was a very Moist Van Lipwig start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.2 on this double dip bin day and already the day is starting to brighten up a bit. Garden bin has been collected and the car is nicely washed by the rain. Mrs Miggins was in Aberdeen yesterday catching up with the pure bred Picts in her family. They haven’t had a ‘gathering’ for a number of years and though quite small, the 15th Clan Chief of the pudding race made an appearance from his London hovel and anointed them with wode before collecting rents and making for the hills. I hear that Richy Rich got a note from his mum yesterday, telling everyone what a good boy he really is handing over his fags, matches and Rizla+ papers and to stop poking fun at his train set. Art bit, well it’s some ink. See how it goes. Have a spiffing day Really must finish my koffy and then join in with everyone to do some exercises.

Edit: it’s blooming raining again

Morning all on the start of the CWC (not the Co-Op the cricket world cup) - not here, in India, innit. (Great 6 Jonny.) @gennepher thanks for sharing the creative and hug for the mysterious noise last night. @lindisfel I hope you can somehow get the Sertraline. Apparently we are to fall for the Hot Dog man ploy - reset my Jim Royle. @dunelm thanks for sharing the art and update, weather way up there and Mrs Miggins' adventures. As for Braverman, Labi says Hi. Have a great day - I have cricket to watch. Mr K and I have advice to give - see ball, hit ball in a nutshell.

A very effective black&white ink sketch @dunelm

Thank you Ian

Thank you @ianpspurs

After doing shopping at Lidl and waiting in the chemist for my tablets to be made up, I felt quite rough and gave the butcher's a miss today.
There is always tomorrow.

Weather next week not good up here its a lot of rain for us and by no means will it be hot with temp peaking at 19. I suppose that the only asset of being near Mordor.

Our road is going to be blocked at the railway a mile away during work on the coastal line to Barrow via Whitehaven for next four days. They have prepared an area in a farmers field with the ground covered in a membranes and multiple industrial units. Sounds like the farmers got a nice little earner the locals speculate.
We don't have much to be nosey about up here!

I might be advising against forum rules, huh! However, with sertraline, what I would have done, cos of what the drug is designed to do, is build up in your body and takes time to be effective and mostly the dose is to top up, to maintain overall effect. So a day or two reduced dosages, will not have any serious effects or side effects.
Take care.

6.3 pre appointment with counsellor this afternoon, both arms are sore this morning, and Mrs L remarked with first cuppa that she couldn't understand why her muscles were sore! And I'm convinced that after both jabs against flu and covid, I have a cold! Runny nose, temp slightly up etc. Or is it the jabs?
Conspiracy theory abound, disguise the jabs with the cold virus, so when you get either of the others, you have not got rid of the cold! And that makes you believe you haven't got either!

Raining again, so no garden, and I need to finish hacking ivy. Bins already full of ivy's bits, hope our really decent Christmas bonus binmen will empty them next week!

Lots of chores done, watching England play in WCC. Just have to have a small bite before going and lashings of tea provided by BIL, when he pops around soon.

Report back later!

Take it easy today. 19C isn't bad for the time of year. Forecast here (90 mins drive to London at official speed limits about the same driving and taking train from Ely) for next few days is below so no socks days continue

BG still in double figures today. No breakfast today - didn't feel like eating before going to get my legs bandaged again so had lunch at 1.15 pm. Took insulin and it should have been enough but currently it's up by 4 whle points. Still, it's only at one hour from dosing, so it might drop a bit.

There's a spider in my bedroom! I saw it this morning when I was getting dressed but it scuttled away under the bed and I couldn't see where it went, or even attempt to catch it. Not keen on going back into the bedroom now, but the bed isn't made yet, so I'll have to.

Yes@Annb. It is spider time of the year sure enough! I have a couple of spider catcher gadgets placed within quick reach and encourage the spiders to walk inside then dangle them outside via the door or window. I can't bring myself to kill anything even wasps so rely on these gadgets and a lot of patience. The best thing is you can just place the plastic part over the spider and leave it there for a while and go back to it later. Before I had the spider catchers it was a case of covering with a clear glass, sliding thin, stiff card underneath then lifting at arms length but that took more courage! This is a copy of the spider catcher from Amazon. Other suppliers and designs.avaliable

Yes, I have one which works very well - it is a gentle vacuum which lifts the spider so I can then put it outside. There was no time to do anything with this one though - it shot across the floor and under the bed before I could even reach for the spider catcher. I hate spiders! I've just sent away for some peppermint oil to spray around - spiders are supposed not to like to go anywhere near peppermint. The one I've ordered also contains citronella - a double whammy, I hope.

My mother always used the line "it's more frightened of you than you are of it." I disagree - spiders rely on instinct and don't have the imagination to be fearful. I have. My husband used to handle spiders quite happily and just let them climb onto his hand so he could put them out for me. My younger son is the same. But my Dad hated spiders and wouldn't touch them, and my elder son is the same, though he will catch them with a glass if necessary. I'm just a wimp, I know.

I saw an item on a TV programme in which an "expert" said that this is the time of year when spiders come in from outside looking for a mate. He suggested using peppermint oil or citronella to discourage them. That's why I've sent for some. They can do their courting outside if they're that way inclined - not in my house!

The 19deg Is not today its on one the hot days down South next week.
It's 15 today and very wet and very windy, its rained all day up to now and like you we can't get out. Were paying for two dry months in May and June.
But Cumbria is very green indeed.
