What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

BG at 4 am was 8.9. Rose to 11.0 after 2 cups of tea, then took insulin and had breakfast. Now 8.5. Had 21 g carbs for breakfast, so no more today. Weighed myself before my shower and have lost 0.4 kg since last week. Not much but at least it's in the right direction. Soon leaving to get my legs rebandaged. While at the Health Centre I'll see if I can get an appointment to see a GP. A bit irritated that our water pressure dropped while I was in the shower so it cut out. Just as I was about to wash my hair (the last thing before finishing). Had to give up while still a bit soapy and then wash my hair separately. Nuisance!

They were in Willowglen road , Stornaway at 1836 yesterday. 90 birds.

Funny that, so did we have burgers with salads, no bums, I mean no baps, I mean no bread anywhere near!F

And the weather is bad. Around here, it has rained, it was windy but it stopped, now late morning, wind up, steady drizzle and garden is now a large lake , with a lot of foliage covering the water, quite pretty in its own way, looking from the window.

6.8 pre counselling, on this Saturday morning, (under orders again) and the youngest is still out, and Mrs L is worried where he is. He should be here at home!
At that time, son #4 was in fact dropping grandchild #7 at school and #8 at nursery before work. And of course has his own home.

Another jigsaw bit the dust early this morning, apt, as it was a desert scene!

Must get chores done before travelling.

Report back later!

Best wishes.

Have a thrilling Thursday, hoping Ciarin doesn't spoil it for you.

We don't have access to e-consult here, in Wales where I live @ianpspurs . It was withdrawn early this year 2023. I had access to e-consult 2020-2021-2022 then early 2023 no more access to e-consult via my particular doctor's surgery because it didn't support it....

I like the art treatment of the distant hills, and the trees @dunelm
Have a good day...

Hope Mr Hitchcock, is not directing them!

Cruella has no room in the hotels or on the boats. The birds will have to come to Dovecote!

There is about two hundred plus gulls on our back footie pitch and flying around like starlings for some reason!

Went out first thing on a wild goose chase, but something better cropped up, but then my fortunes changed again, when the previous nice sky turned in a deluge and drowned me to the skin, and a wind whipped up a frenzy....and going back to the car, a shop I get things from, the guy was only just opening up, and he said, do you need anything (I usually shop for something every time I pass). I need a long handled feather duster, I said. Hang on he said, disappeared into his Emprorium, and emerged with a long handled bright green thing. That'll do I said, and I parted with £2.50.

This strange feather (curly lime green string) duster works. It's like creating candy floss running it along the dusty ceilings and corners...

A few hours later I am under blankets. I just want to sleep...and I am not coming out from under them...

It's not quite finished, it needs a tad more fartnarkling, but I need to go back to sleep, and this is what you get... That infernal rain got straight through me...

Have a good day.

I have just dropped this iPad on a hard floor. This infernal cold keeps making me fall asleep. iPad survived luckily...and so did my video clips on it...

A cuppa, then a nap.

Indeed the weather last night was apalling- although not as bad as forecast. Wind speed up to 51kph with stronger gusts. We have a little minor damage. Sadly he covered walkway completed two days ago needed emergency repair this morning. And my greenhouse had one panel fly away in the night. Found that one, but another one is now AWOL. Totally disappeared. Some local friends have damage as well but it seems the storm was worse to the north and west of us.

That is not how an econsult works. If it's working they need to respond to you before two days have elapsed?
I did make the contact with e-consult on Wednesday but, as it has done before, it got to the end of the questionnaire and just said it couldn't answer the query so consult the GP asap. It also said it wouldn't be contacting the GP. It's only the one (that we used to have) that says your GP will respond in 2 days that actually gets in touch with your GP for you.

Anyway, I asked the nurse what she thought. I was puffing and panting at the time having pushed myself into the treatment room in the wheelchair. She checked with her oximeter and it read 95%. She still thought I should see a doctor so when my legs were done I asked the receptionist to give me an appointment to talk to a doctor but she had one face to face right then and there. He checked again and it was up to 97%! He reckoned both of mine were unreliable. Perhaps when I feel out of breath I should do some heavy breathing!

He checked BP, which was a bit high (no surprise there). Had a listen to my chest and reckoned there's little wrong except my lungs are worn out - probably due to smoking! Never had a cigarette in my mouth. Not ever. Not even when all my pals were lighting up and encouraging me to do the same. The only smoke I have been exposed to was my father's pipe and the atmosphere in the jazz club we used to go to in the late 50's. Allright then, so it's my weight, even though the breathing is worse now than when I was 2 or more stones heavier (but I am 6 months older - perhaps that makes a difference). He did order some blood tests though, just to check. That will be next week. Something to look forward to.

@dunelm thanks for kindly sharing the tree you saw. I'll call it Joshua will U2? @gennepher hug for still feeling sleepy and getting wet but winner for an undamaged iPad, the duster and those owls. (Errol was a scatty owl in Harry Potter films.) @Annb I gave a like for managing to get a face to face appointment and some reassurance on the Oxygen levels. FYI anyone who enjoys goose but won't pay around £100 for one. These always seem as good as the very aspirational ones we bought from a respected Cambs supplier. Can't vouch for the Lidl ones being high welfare and antibiotic free though.

Pleased that your IPad survived the drop. Smashing owls and look forward to the fartnarkled touches.

Thanks @ianpspurs and for the Joshua Tree reminder. I point you towards the film Grand Theft Parsons which is about the death of Gram Parsons (The Byrds, Flying Burrito Brothers) who died at the Joshua Tree Hotel. Think Wild horses

I am not over enamoured about the GP you drew the lucky straw to see @Annb

Last time I saw a Lucky Dip GP (it was last time I saw any GP in my surgery) was 2017, he knew nothing about me, put it this way Basil Fawlty could have made a better diagnosis. He knew nothing of me, hadn't read my records. I told this Lucky Dip GP what I thought of him and his abilities is the only way I could possibly describe what I said to him , on here. "You don't want a prescription from me?" was his reply. "Not from you I don't," was my reply, and I walked out. Seething and boiling over didn't even describe what I felt. I made an immediate complaint to the practice manager...but heard nothing.
