Take it easy and hugs for the need for surgery.Afternoon all back home recovering after minor surgery on my forehead and my index finger on my right hand. 2 more scars to my collection. I am under strict instructions not to get the dressings wet and to rest up. I wonder how long it will be before MrsJ forgets herself and starts issuing tasks. Sorry no pictures they took enough of those after the surgery.
Blood sugars were 5.3 this morning.

Just how does one or six of me rest up?
Menu sounds delicious and shows so much love for others: Matthew 7:16-20 KJV - especially raspberry, dates and tomatoesBusy baking for visitors again on Sunday. For the lady who wants oats instead of wheat, I have some mini quiches in the oven. Also in the middle of making individual tartes tatin using an experimental method I have thought up. Cakes to make before Sunday including one made of oatmeal and ground dates as a sweetener to be sandwiched with the raspberry coulis I made yesterday and cream. Those things, some salad and some cheeses should be enough although the 2 boys eat everything in sight - as though they've never been fed (not the case).
Time for coffee in some peace now @dunelmGood morning everyone from a ‘thank goodness, no rain’ start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.9 this am. A dismal and dreary drizzle day yesterday and none of the new plastic free poppies to be found. The RBL of course are keen to dispose of their supplies of the plastic stemmed ones. Will have a look tomorrow. Mrs Miggins is keen to have them for The Festival of Remembrance that we are off to this year. The grandchildren are going home today - nice to see you, thanks for the kicks, giggles and exhaustion! Art bit, another tree. Must find something else to do before all the birds have flown south. Hope your Friday is a damp free one. I simply must have some koffy.

Good luck @lindisfel for trying to get those outstanding tablets....What a beautiful Autumn morning in Cumbria with blue skies and calm with a slight breeze.
Feeling much better today after I sorted my BP yesterday and moved all my tablets about.
It was going far too low in pressure and knackering me.
I'll go and see if I can get my outstanding tablets this am when Marjorie has to see GP short notice at 0940 today.
D.
Thanks IanAfternoon after dinner everyone - except those whose IF is still in force. @dunelm thanks for sharing the art. You'll miss those grandchildren but the rest may also be a blessing. The inside story of those new poppies is interesting - I'll leave it there. @gennepher thanks for sharing more owls, video footage and tales of not so wildlife. Lamont D I gave a winner as your post seemed upbeat and #8 sounds wonderful. @Krystyna23040 interesting about Mr K and the crunchie. @Annb I'm not a reliable witness for TV beyond sport and politics but we did buy White Christmas and do like some syrupy American films. Not the same without a huge fire/stove but hey nonny ho. I tend to not even watch news on TV since I have BBC news channel and Guardian live running all day. Most original programmes seem to be on Sky/Amazon/Netflix - Apple TV probably has some but I'm very anti Apple so can't say. Some seasonal keto goodies now portioned and stored in a freezer - Kristmas pud and mince pie type tray bake (not sure lemon drizzle cake is seasonal): interesting ingredients. Goose acquired for Sunday - a week early this year but an alternative event is arranged for next Sunday. By evening I will have been in and out of Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambs about 3 times each. Enjoy your day.

Thank you @ianpspurs - it’s all so quiet, shh, shh, - I have heard that people are complaining about virtue signaling and falling apart poppies - oh well, the ones in the early 20thC were plastic free and no one moaned about them. Great tree and birds...
Enjoy the steak. What do people call that meal: tea, evening meal, dinner, kitchen supper - any regional dialect variations?Steak for tea!
Would be dinner, I suppose but I would usually call it "main meal" because it is a moveable meal - might be first meal of the day so should be breakfast but it might be in the middle of the day, so should be lunch or brunch, or it might be later, so would be dinner. I usually just refer to Breakfast and 2nd meal (and try not to have a third meal). Tea for me would be either a cup of tea and a small sandwich or "high tea" which would be cooked and in the afternoon. I'm even more confusing than the people in your article. I know what I mean though.Enjoy the steak. What do people call that meal: tea, evening meal, dinner, kitchen supper - any regional dialect variations?
