What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@dunelm thanks so much for sharing today's art. From a theme so freighted with dolour you have used your talents, and I hazard to guess experience, to create something beautiful in its bleakness - the subtle, poignant red does that I feel. There seems to be a deep emotion not just a piece of art. God bless and protect you - believer or not. I hope your koffy was a - maze - ing. @lindisfel no wonder you have felt in paradise these last 57 years

@Annb I thought that you could keep your number when you moved provider. Hopefully the horrible iTalk person is wrong.
I'm pretty sure we can keep the original phone number - it was a BT one in the first place and the one we have had for the last 40+ years. But even if we do have to have a new number, it's not exactly the end of the world.

Thanks for the owl compliment @ianpspurs
You take care...

Had first meal for four days last night.
Two slices LC bread (32g per 100g)
And two farm eggs scrambled with butter.
But we ate late because MrSlim felt unwell.
Still not feeling properly well, but managed to stay awake all day.
He had been helping to fix a friend's barn roof, but the damage is so extensive it will take some time. There is so much damage from the storm that all the professionals will be fully occupied for months.
I am concerned that the job is asking too much of him.
The friend breeds free range poultry for a living and the wet and cold killed a whole brood of 13 ducklings, big loss for her, along with the regular fox depredations, so she is returning to rabbit breeding as a side hustle.
Made curried carrot and lentil soup this morning and stripped the bed. As soon as the first load was finished it started to rain. Now off to light the fire. Tumble dryer is only for emergencies or towels in my world.

6.6 this morning. Just relaxing with a coffee before my sister arrives and we tackle the admin.

I am really lucky that my sister and Mr K help with the admin. It always amazes me just how much admin there is - especially as we are running a really small limited company.

Beautiful poignant art bit @dunelm

Hugs @SlimLizzy for still not feeling well.
It is hard work when the storm wrecks what your friend was working towards...

My friend has just reported of her nearly 100 year old MIL, who had a fall, that "She’s not bad today doctor said nothing broken but to rest her leg and gave her antibiotics so fingers crossed xx"
Hopefully that sounds hopeful, but why the antibiotics?

National bin day Morening fellow posters and painters.
Hugs to @ianpspurs for his drip trip today.

Blood sugars this morning were firstly 4.1, then straight afterwards 4.5, preventative measures were taken, jelly babies then followed a bit later with a toasted jam sandwich, the jam for the sugars and the toast for the slower release carbs and a decreased insulin dose. This allowed me to do 30 minutes plinky plonky practice without my usual low blood sugar symptoms. Hugs are not required.

Yesterday’s encounter with the religious zealots in Reading was a successful non event, they saw me and ignored me. A positive result and hopefully this will continue.
A mixed bag of posts today, nice paintings and photographs, telephone scams, If me, me’s and myself were to give advice incitement to commit murder would be the police charge I would be facing and I ain’t that keen on porridge these days also I might meet up with some old school friends. As I have said before my school was approved.

Now it’s time to begin my day properly, stay safe all and smiling is not always a sign of flatulence….

Thanks Alf. I'm sitting here drip in arm, sipping coffee, living the dream. Well, living anyhow - which has lots to commend itself for now.

Cold today and showery, an amazing rain bow over North of Wigton this am when we nipped in to the Coop and I picked up some shelled peanuts kernels from the farm and Pet foods shop.
£48 for 25kg is a bit steep but one has to keep the birds alive this winter.

Late today, getting into the thread. I was up at 3.15 but painkillers put me back to sleep in the chair until 6.15. Before sleeping I did take my basal insulin and a dose of the bolus to try to get my 11.9 reading down a bit. By 6.15 it was 9.4. Then it was all hands on deck (I only have 2 of them but that has to do) to get showered and weighed and get everything ready for cleaner coming early afternoon, before I dashed out to get my legs rebandaged and bloods taken. I wasn't sure we'd be home in time for my cleaning lady so left the door open for her to get in. In the end, blood letting only took minutes instead of the normal 3/4 hour so we're back in good time.

Managed to walk into the fish shop (from the car parked right outside the door, but I did walk in) and select my own fish for a change. Lovely fresh looking haddock and salmon and some proper smoked haddock as well. Also managed to walk in to the pharmacy (same arrangement with the car) to collect my prescription. I might actually be making some kind of progress.

I see that Ian was in the middle of getting his drip - hopefully done by now, or does it take hours to finish?
@lindisfel, £48 is a lot for the bird food. Your feathered friends are going to be very lucky this winter. Lovely autumn colours in your hamlet.
@alf_Josiah - hope you weren't too disappointed that your local zealots avoided you. I have always felt that the people pushing their religion at you are doing it with the best of intentions, be they JW, Mormon, Evangelical, whatever. Nevertheless, it would be best to be offered as a gift, not thrust down people's throats.
@gennepher, glad to hear that the news of your friends MIL is hopeful.
@SlimLizzy, hope both of you feel better soon. Best not to use up too much energy while a bit under the weather.
@dunelm, wonderful art, poignant and evocative.

There have been lots of posts since I last checked, so I hope I haven't missed anyone. Apologies if I have.

Thank you @ianpspurs

Sounds as though you managed to do things which have recently been beyond you so bravo. My drip time is at the short end of the spectrum about 80 mins in total for now. Some people's takes a few hours. All very sociable with tea/coffee/biscuits and confectionery but I take my own coffee and LC nibbles - always 2 babybels.

Lovely art work @dunelm
