What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.3 this day of the garden.
A bright day being ruined by a northerly breeze, which nips at your extremities.
But it has been good to get rid of the scaffolding and the debris and the foliage, good thing I have two rubbish bins, cos the amount over the last two weeks just wouldn't fit.
More good news post came early, and delivered a team of forms to fill in from council, for the grant process for the wet room. Will have to take time on filling it, a long time!!!!
The post office is not the same postal service it was before privatisation, it is another cash cow, for the shareholders as recent developments due to the shocking post office scandal, show!
Had another phone conversation with our GP, who has been onto the early onset team again (they are late! However, the early onset team have told my GP that Mrs L depression was a point of concern and until that was better, then it would not be beneficial. The letter from them to the GP didn't arrive. But now our GP has assured them that because of the meds change, she has been a lot calmer and even though her misrememberitis is not, she does seem a lot better in herself. We await the outcome.
I did thank our GP, our GP has kick started all the changes in her hba1c levels and her better all round health.

Must go, forms to peruse and insert our details!

My best wishes to you all as always.

Sounds as though time in the garden and the potential of a wet room made today one of the better ones for you. So pleased for you both if that is the case and well done on having a helpful GP. Best wishes for the form filling.

I was assured by my Dad, many years ago, that the Post Office was never the same after he left it. That would have been in 1956. It just went downhill from that moment.

Having worked for the DWP many years ago, I find that unless you enquire about something or challenge something and then remind oneself that the DWP is of lets say, of a different mentality, its far better to acquire a knowledgeable person to delve into the pits of the department or get the help from an MP/CAB. I do hope you get the the bottom of the pit with this. I am fiercely critical of the DWP and really begrudge their attitude to persons that need help, the disabled etc. I could say so more, but I think I would get banned

Now, a can of worms...what do I do with this next bit of information. Still on about my CD letter from the DWP

I am trying to find a way of putting the next bit of info in a private message, but where you can all access it....

Hi @Lainie71

I know the DWP's attitude to disabled people. A friend's son worked for the DWP, and he could not morally carry on working with them, with what he was expected to do...

I can't do it...
I am wary of writing too much on here...

I said I mentioned that the council lady said that my CD letter addressed to me was information on free postage for the blind and articles for blind people. There was nothing in the envelope or on the CD about anything to do with blind people, the CD letter was all about my personal private confidential information and highly sensitive details about my pension, bank account and much more.

Now, google Articles for the Blind which was on the printed label on the envelope

2 bits:

"Royal Mail operate a scheme called Articles for the Blind (AFB) which allows blind and partially sighted people to send certain items of post free of charge."

"Royal Mail recommends that you do not send personal, sensitive or confidential correspondence such as health or financial information using the scheme."

So the DWP are using a free post service most inappropriately....

And this was why it went First Class at the expense of the Royal Mail. And was disguised as a CD so that no one would know the DWP were using this free service inappropriately....

My jaw has just dropped through the floor...

Sounds like flannel, these system are not complex. Where is it joined to fast fibre system, it matters how far it is?

There's no emoji that expresses what I think of all this! It would be a person tearing their hair out with one hand and a shot-gun in the other - or something like that. Not that I would ever dream of shooting anyone. But really! Unbelievable.

The exchange is about half a mile away but whether fast fibre has reached it, I couldn't say. They were working on underground cables to the exchange about 3 years ago.

If they have, you should get over 30mb/sec!

Exactly the same for me, I used to cry when I was at work and when I got home. It was destroying me as a person so I quit. Much happier hairdressing now!

Had to and get my monthly blood test done this afternoon luckily Judith was not working today so was able to go with me and push me around to the blood clinic using my rollator as a wheel chair bit troublesome as it hard to steer still got the job done.

Have had to cancel two hospital appointments that were for tomorrow as car is booked in for MOT and is being collected first thing in the morning and then returned late afternoon.

Thing is the appointments were at two different hospitals both 17 miles apart so was never going to be able to attend both not being to able to be in two places at once another case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.

0330 - 10.9. Now 10.3.

We still don't have a phone. I'll have to contact BT today and try to get that sorted out.

Pretty windy here at the moment and quite cool. Too early for the heating to come on. I could over-ride the timer, but it will be on in about half an hour anyway, so I'll just leave it. Won't be having my shower for an hour yet, and that's when I need the heat. For now a thick dressing gown will do fine. And a cup of tea.
