What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hope today is better for you. Strange how our brain just doesn’t seem to understand the fair wear and tear of rest of body. I think that I would have had half of that dinner and asked for the rest in a box.
You were dead right @dunelm, I have set up the post antibiotic trots from having my chest infection cured and need to get my gut biome back by having some gut biome restorer.
It is very inconveniet having a self inflicted Montezumas revenge. I have to take Marjorie to Tai Chi in Carlisle this am, I hate to let her down now the bus times have changed and she cant get at the right time in an am.

Gut biome restorer - it’s all the rage. What concoctions do you use? My 30 plants a week starts with a small daily cocktail consisting of Inulin (prebiotic) mixed with kefir, live yoghurt, chia seeds and a few nuts or seed (different each day). I also consume kimchi and sauerkraut very regularly. Do you keep up with Zoe and Tim Spector et al?

I do have a mobility scooter but find it difficult to get it in and out of the car boot without help is does disassemble but some of the sections are quite heavy and take up quite a bit of room so I have ordered a lightweight cheapish folding wheelchair for when the scooter is not suitable Keiran is a bit upset with me he thinks I’m giving up but that’s not true I will use it when needed but walk when I can.
If it gives you more independent freedom then why not. My mum resisted getting a mobility scooter for years - they are frowned upon in France. But after she gave up her car last year she decided that the only solution to being a virtual prisoner in her own home was to get around in a mobility scooter. It is quite big but great for getting out and about around town.

Good morning everyone on a chilly Willy red sky in the morning start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.4 this morning - oh joy of joys! We have Mallow growing in the front garden. Just the one plant. It made itself visible through the low shrubs a few months ago. Now quite tall and sporting some dark purple flower. Not used any of the leaves in the kitchen but may if it seeds and comes back. My mum says that a weed is just a plant sitting in the wrong place but it looks happy where it is. We have some hollyhock seeds that we collected last year and forgot about (I forgot where I had put them). We can plant in pots and see what comes up. Roses need pruning. Other stuff also but phew! Paint my fingers green and pass the Absinth. Art bit, a little bit more. Hope your day is dry and pleasant. Best have some koffy and salute the sun.

Morning all on whatever label the marketing gurus have given today - Tasteless Tuesday? A fine, dry but too cool for school (and me) start here. I swiped _ left actually - today and saw 4.9 which is sub-optimal for my best setting but quite o.k. in context. I'm not in any kind of competition with other people over fbg but after 8 years I just know when I'm in good nick. Old age creeps on here. I sourced two loperamide (given out like sweeties for potential side effects of the meds I take) to take before bed but didn't take them as I won't drink the tap water here (makes that issue worse) and I didn't want to drink the diet Pepsi JKP had then clean my teeth again..On waking I thought I had slept very well with no need to awake due to those tablets, before realising I didn't take any. @dunelm thanks for sharing the art and reminding me why I only really like vegetables, grass, fruit trees and bulbs (they need no work) in a garden. Only one school pickup today - in Cambs - so the Little Guy and his BIG sister are here :woot:. Interesting concept mixing outside one’s immediate family and home. I'm not a fan * - been there, done that. ROI usually a huge disappointment for all parties I suspect. To each their own. Not sure I have anything to offer any more. Y'all have a great but not Tasteless Tuesday.
Edit: *Well, Psalm 133 v1 sure told me about that :banghead:

I agree with you @JohnEGreen
You only have so much energy each day (I am talking about myself here as well). Some days there is more energy, but on the days when there is less energy, that wheelchair is important to conserve the energy you do have to get through the rest of the day.
That is my view. It was easier when J was alive. He would push me in a wheelchair, and it left my available energy for driving us places, he didn't drive. And so on. Now, I find it hard and I am sleeping a lot when I get back home.

Enjoy that coffee and the sun salutation @dunelm

Great sketching...

I hope your private clinic is good, I finished up having sparmedica messing up my last right cateract so badly I had to have it done again by a superb private surgeon in Cumbria, it cost me £3000 but it was worth every penny. I now have excellent vision in both eyes. Better than most mid eighty year olds. I did need lazer treatment on the capsule but that is normal after working on the capsule to remove the torn lens put in by the private medical company.
D.
Yes the clinic was great the procedure went fine and afterwards the sight in my right eye was crystal clear the only thing was having to wear an eye guard at night for a couple of weeks just hope I can get the left eye done sometime soon as it’s getting progressively worse.

really good fbg. Also interesting that you slept well without the tablets.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those of alternative gender, more of this later in this post.

Blood sugars were 5.9 this morning.

Some weeks ago I was convicted of being anti woke and pleaded guilty as charged.
My punishment was to devote a portion of my week to attempting to be woke tolerant and friendly, this me, me’s and myself find very difficult, but am making headway on this monumental task. Therefore today a Tuesday has been nominated woke day and me, me’s and myself identify as Loretta, but only on Tuesdays. The rest of the week I can revert to type, long haired, bearded overweight motorcyclist with a say what you mean without a care attitude.
Identifying as as Loretta on Tuesdays has advantages such as ignoring medical requests for a prostate examination, Loretta does not have a prostate, but I do live in fear of being summoned for a smear test on a Tuesday.

On different note Mallow is a tree not a garden shrub as I understand, I am probably wrong, I usually am in the eyes of the marital judiciary.

Now it time to wish you all well hoping you stay safe and something to brighten your day.
Loretta.

Up at 0300 after a 2 hour doze. BG 9.3. Some more dozing in the chair but had ot jump up and make my bed and get washed and dressed before Em arrived. BG down a bit and then up. Now 10.8. Breakfast soon and that might sort it out.

I guess Em's house was in a bit of uproar this morning - DIL had to leave at 0500 to catch the ferry. Alistair had to get to work by 0700. Em's school clothes had been put in a pile last night but when she arrived (in her pyjamas) at 0615 she realised that she hadn't picked up the pile of clothes. She was just in pj's, big winter boots and heavy jacket. Had to get Neil up and ask him to take her back home to collect her clothes. All's well now though. Still time to listen to some of her music on the tablet, get washed and dressed and have some pancakes with bacon and maple syrup with a mug of tea. Should keep her going until lunch time. At least she remembered to pick up her packed lunch.

She'll be back after school to wait for her dad tp pick her up on his way home from work/laundry collection and delivery/shopping. It's going to be an even more difficult few weeks for him than usual.

Fbg 7.1

Obviously the stress of yesterday...

Yesterday got wiped out for me for getting things and creative started.
Today I need some rest and peace and quiet and equilibrium.
So, no time for a drawing today. So I did a kaleidoscope of a wall hanging in my bedroom.

Wildlife nighttime cameras
Cat Midnight watches Fox & Badger
This fox is the one I named Foxy Loxy from last year, and the badger is Boy Badger (this year's son of Pa Badger).
1 min

Time for a cuppa and a nap...

Have your best day for you.

I hope today brings the peace you crave. Thanks for sharing the wonderful kaleidoscope. I do see some wildlife in there otherwise it would be perfect for a Masjid.
