What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Eyes for us diabetics are always a bit of a worry so quite the upset and not a very helpful letter but break it down. St Paul’s first and see what they say. If, as you suspect, they tell you that your eyes are as they have been for the past few years then present them with the letter and ask them, “why then am I being told that I need unnecessary eye surgery”. Next, if all is well, when the appointment letter arrives - ask friend to cancel. Only if St Paul’s concur do you need to decide what to do about it. For now, feet up, hot water bottle, flask of tea, ink pen, breathe. All the best.

You do wonder, don’t you, about the way some folk fail to adjust to weather conditions. Shaded bits of road and driving under bridges need caution when the temperature drops. I do miss 4WD and low ratio though when the roads are frozen.

Yes they are quite a big worry for us diabetics @dunelm

Thank you for your reassuring words.
I agree.
I am trying not to worry.
I have to see what St Paul's say first, and then proceed from there...

I am trying to meditate with my ink pen this morning...and I have made a pig's ear of this ink drawing this morning...

Thank you again.

Good morning everyone on quite a breezy start here in the dark and dangerous north. 6.3 his am - ah, not Yorkshire Pudding then. Apart from that, a lovely day wandering round the ice sculpture trail and other attractions. Great catch up with friends old and new at the British Legion lunch. Managed to get over the 10,000 steps marker by days end. Today is scarf sorting day - it has been decreed from on high that we have too many scarfs. My thoughts were that the number of scarfs needed was like that for motorcycles; n+1 where n = the number of scarfs already to hand. Anyhow, some scarfs will soon be in the hands of the local food bank clothing stock. Good job it’s not any of my jumpers, holes in elbows or otherwise. Art bit, three colours and a squirrel brush (they are all synthetic nowadays - a vegan squirrel brush if you will). Hope, as always, that your day is kind to you. I should really now make some more koffy.

This is beautiful. This kind of moody (in my eyes) painting (and yesterday's) is really my thing, my kind of peace...

Thanks for your paintings @dunelm

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen. Not been feeling quite the ticket the last week or so, but luckily other tickets are available for a feeling or several other versions of a grape.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.4 and climbing or descending, face, bothered, nah.

We have the grandchildren for the annual pre Christmas BBQ today. Food is cooked outside and eaten inside, we do this ever year, usual BBQ fare. They like helping and cooking. Mrs J has planned and is planning. Me me’s and myself are in the ready to receive nagging position, but in dire kneed of koffy.

Now it’s time to go and make koffy.

Have a great day as we intend two, to or too.

Creative...Chinese painting of flowers and rock with Pentel Brush pen. A bit of colour added.

Heckishly windy outside...

Have your best day...

Time for lunch...yes I know it's 9am, but I have been awake since 3am...

Have your best day.

Another splendid piece with that Pentel brush and some very delicate colouring. Enjoy your lunch.

Morning all from my Breckland lair on a maarled start to Sunday. Dark but positively warm at 4.25 today - no me neither. @gennepher hug for the stress from that letter but winner for the delicate creative. @dunelm's plan seems on point. Talking of that splendid fellow, excellent news on yesterday (Yorkshire P excepted) and holding firm over the jumpers whilst appearing to surrender to the monstrous tyranny of de-scarfication. Thank you for sharing the splendid art. Hardy's darkling thrush would fit right in there imho. @Krystyna23040 hug for the sub iconic desktop experience. Give it 4 generations and you'll be accepted as a local - until you speak. @alf_Josiah hug for feeling sub-optimal of late and enjoy the day which should be a tonic. Yesterday I live streamed a Christingle service from Ely Cathedral and watched a recording of the wonderful Advent service from Keeble College (in that other place) while JKP made a Keto Panettone and watched something called films (noise cancelling headphones are one of God’s great gifts) - win, win I'd say. Lamb shoulder and TV sport today for me. Have a sonnet - I do rather like the O Antiphons and Malcolm Guite.

Thank you @ianpspurs for the hug and winner...

6.0 this morning.
Talking of jumpers and things my Cashmere jumper went in the wash one size came out another small disaster but not such a great thing in the scale of things.

As to specsavers and cataracts they had known I had cataracts at least 3 years before they mentioned it to me I had no idea.

Not too sure about other parts of the the country, but here in the land of TWA, with a Ts, most are too busy practicing that most essential of road skills, the Mandatory U-turn in the narrowest or busiest roads in the area (London obv, it's a breeding ground for such good drivers )

Had one such U-turn on my way home on the e-bike

Most upset I didn't wait for his laboured skills to turn the vehicle before passing his Chelsea tractor ...

Here we go again I remember many years ago my cousin was driving his car one winter hit ice and totally lost control was skidding down the road and thought he was a goner but as it happens there was a car stopped at the end of the road which he hit bringing him to a halt much to his relief the two policemen sat in their patrol car were not so relieved or pleased at the outcome.

Can we see the drawing of a pigs ear please?

That is not a pigs ear!
Nice tho!
