What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

You did well there @Krystyna23040 to complain about that doctor and get something done about it.

Thanks @jjraak
I will write a letter of complaint.
That was bad what happened to you during your asthma attack.

Would you believe right wing Christians believe this policy.
It's good job the Pax Romana had open borders because when Jesus was taken to Egypt by his parents fleeing Herod for a couple of years he would have been killed by that tyrant p.d.q. if he was turned back.
That shuts them up with an embarrassing silence.

Religion? I dont like the brand X or brand Y kind of thing.

Faith is a living thing, a relationship with ones 'Saviour' whose overriding motivation is love for we creatures of frail flesh.

Such a belief system always gives a hand to those in need and the oppressed and this kind of love can be given by agnostics, but often is an overriding desire by those who would try to be like the One they worship in the case of Christians.

This morning 5.5 if my meter is to be believed

A friend of mine sadly no longer with us when things got too much for him used to leave the house find an isolated spot and then used to shout and scream waving his fist at the sky until he felt better and calm returned.

Sounds like he was into pleading supplication.

A farmer friend was laying a hedge up the lane from the cottage.
Swearing and cursing like a trooper at the hedge as we walked by not seeing us until too late....

When we came back, he said you must have heard me then?
I laughed and told him, I said to Marjorie...Such a well brought up chap will have learnt that from Denis (His cowman notorious for shouting and swearng at stock).

His father was a life long solicitor apart from a time he was a naviator in the RAF and his mother very much the country lady of the hamlet who died in her 90s before the pandemic.

I worked for a UK firm we manufactured VDRs Voltage Dependant Resistors used in lightning arresters we used to supply Siemens a German firm with unmarked products so they could sell them as their own as they had tried unsuccessfully to produce them themselves.

I suppose it's because I am deaf @JohnEGreen I only just had the cochlear implant to enable me to hear 15 years ago now, that all my life I never did the scream or shout of frustration because I couldn't hear it.

As a small child I would go to the small cave nearby by the River Maun, known as Robin Hoods Cave, and just sit in there.

When I grew older, a go to place in times of frustration was go by water - sea or canal or river or stream or waterfall or a park with a fountain and just sit there. If there were people there, I could just delete them in my mind so I was sitting in my solitariness.

More recently, about 20 years ago, there was the china/crockery smashing period. My crockery got hurled at force against the garage door. Oneday I had no more crockery left...

I now use paper plates...it is no good presenting me with a crockery set...

What do I do now in intense periods of frustration?

I make a flask of tea, get into bed, and go straight to sleep (my brain always obliges on these occasions), and when I wake up my neural pathways are in a different place/are wired up differently/whatever...and everything is lighter....

It is the most difficult thing to do is face our fears, no matter how normal they may seem to others.

Thanks for sharing.

I get it, mate.
And as you point out, it can be the most innocuous of situations that rattle us .

Weird how we don't have that anxiety until something unlocks the monsters in our thoughts.
Then it's all we can do to contain it & keep a lid in it.

( The thought came to me it's like an augmented reality.
A bit like the 'Pokemon GO' game that was in the news a few years back ....the world to everyone else seems normal.
But for the gamers that added overlay adds pokemon's running around....but for us it's filled with monsters. )

Acting normal despite all our senses screaming at us to do otherwise, can be very isolating.

I mean WHO can we tell, without worrying them ?

That's why I'm an advocate of writing it down, or using the friendship of forums like this, where letting someone know of our angst can be such a conduit for those that struggle.

The idea we are unaware of the struggles the person next to us might have, has now tempered my thinking when others act a little 'odd'

Because any one of us could be that person to someone else.

I get it, fella.

FBG started out at 6.0
surprise as few carbs yesterday, but did have small piece of cheese in the evening. Could that be the culprit?
Hour later down to 5.4
Kiki's cat sitter came yesterday to collect keys and for last minute instructions. Showed her where the courgettes for Kiki are kept. Kiki is not impressed with her, despite her claim to have an affinity with cats. Normal for Kiki though, she is not at all interested in people, unless they are offering treats...
Must go, packing for the world trip!

6.2 this morning.

Yesterday afternoon was hilarious. I took Poppy to the other park in our village. It was quite muddy and flooded but I decided to walk across it.

The flooded bits were surprisingly deep and Poppy went crazy - bounding through the water like a puppy - not like the nearly 14 years old dog she is. She got absolutely soaked but it was good fun.

I got a lot more admin done and have also started the more interesting part of my holidsy work - learning new exercises.

Have also sorted the paperwork in my overloaded magazine rack in the conservatory - Mr K was really pleased that I had sorted it.

8.4 at 0430 today. 2 cups of tea later, it's 8.1.

I haven't heard anything from my cleaner since before our phones were fixed, so before 20 November. When I spoke to her, she was calling to say she couldn't come because she had the mother and father of all colds. I didn't want to phone her and complain about her not coming since then but, not hearing anything, I'm concerned that the "cold" turned into something worse. My floors will be there long after I'm gone, so I'm not worrying about them and, if necessary, I can get Neil to help me (another job for him to undertake) but I am really getting worried about her now, so I tried phoning her and got her answerphone. I explained that I was concerned and asked her to call me back. but so far, she hasn't. So I really am worried now.

Between us, we had to do something about the floor in the kitchen this morning because Neil dropped the lid of the bread crock and it smashed into a hundred pieces. Just sweeping the obviously needy parts wouldn't do any more. The worst quarter of the floor is done now, but furniture needs to be moved and another bit of the floor to be tackled. That's going to be the only way to manage, I think. At least I do have a very long handled dustpan and brush so I don't have to try to reach the floor. Neil has retired to put plasters on his cuts for now, so we'll get to it in a while.

New bread bin/crock required now.

Good morning everyone on an energised start here in the dark and dangerous north. Girl In The Bubble had to be organised for her school Christmas party - she is a real party animal and currently identifies as a reindeer. Walked into town to meet up with Mrs Miggins at the GP surgery and then took advantage of the location to visit the cafe for some poached eggs and avocado with chilli flakes. Mrs Miggins is off to take her sister who had a stroke out for koffy. She and her twin will take turns pushing the wheelchair I expect. I am on sorting duties and then taking surplus but useable items down to the food bank clothing room and then doing the food bank contribution. Some duck to confit this afternoon. It’s like a dizzying whirlwind! Art bit - wet on wet and using a decorators 2” brush. Hope your day is going as well as it can go. @Annb good luck with #breadcrockgate. Now, should I make more koffy or just get the washing into the dryer?

A great result @jjraak . Yes, I agree that the point of a complaint is to prevent anyone else being put at risk - and you certainly achieved that outcome.

Presumably the washing is dry by now, and coffee drunk...
I like these decorator's brush paintings.
Very effective @dunelm
