Brilliant.Good morning everyone on a blustery start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.7 this am. Confit duck last night, marvellous. I am wondering if the bake house will be open today to get our sourdough. It sits high up overlooking the sea and it’s a bit windy out there. No matter if not, just have to go bread free for a week - can’t eat that stodge that supermarkets try and tell you is bread. The in store baked stuff could easily be a year old, frozen and then finished off in the supermarket. Yuk! No idea what today will bring - how exciting. Art bit, just one colour, Paynes Grey and a sprinkle of salt on the foreground while it was still damp. Hope your day is kind to you especially with all the nutters running around filling shopping trollies in readiness for the 24 hr shopping embargo. Best go and make some koffy.
Very far eastern.Fbg 6.7
Looking at my willow, the sap is rising. Surely this is too early?
The birds, especially seagulls, are having difficulty in this wind...but the little sparrows are feeding off the fatballs...
Wildlife nighttime video...
Cat Midnight & Badger & Fox
Midnight snarls at something out of sight, I am assuming Boy Badger because he appears next, and then Foxy Loxy jumps on the swing, looks around and jumps off...
37secs
This is the last time you will see the swing with these covers and large cushions on.
I have taken them all off. And for a few days, I had nothing else, but cardboard on the swing and on the back of it.
No one wanted to get on the swing not even the cats, but I was trying to deter the two male badgers from forever, disturbing the cats that sleep on the swing.
Will I succeed?
At the end of the day, this is not appropriate behaviour for badgers.
Pa Badger started this behaviour last year, and his son is following him.
I do not need a whole tribe of badgers on this swing...
Big Ted now, reappears on the swing. The easiest way of sorting big Ted out after the badger damaged him early this year was to buy a blue eight year-old boys hooded onesie from the charity shop and put that on him.
Big Ted now looks like an airline pilot from a World War I plane...
But unfortunately you won't see him on the general trail camera videos because I've had to tie him to with an inch of his life to the far back of the swing to stop Pa Badger from yanking him off the swing.
Tomorrow starts a new era on the trail cam videos. Will Pa Badger and Boy Badger still try to get on the swing? Will Foxy Loxy still try to get on the swing? Who knows?
What I have done is not put the cushions ( I bought a pile of small cushions from the charity shop) right up to the front of the swing to make it harder for the badger to grip on to get on the swing, because now there is a few inches of wood which is the swing before the cushions start....
See what happens in tomorrow's video...
Might lose some followers! It is more interesting to watch the badger do something out of the ordinary, rather than just pootling around, getting grubs and worms out the ground. But hey life changes, as the badgers are about to find out...
Creative. Used Sketch Club app to do another Chinese painting... added a bit of colour of this one...
I am tired now I need a nap.
Have your best day....

You would have thought the planning committee, would realise, who would be living there!Good old Caius Julius Rufus building such an edifice at the end of your parents street.
If you have a motorcycle satnav then you can add waypoints and ride/drive the exact route that you want and set it to avoid things like toll roads and areas of veganism (other off world areas can be downloaded as extras).Tip of the day.
Always carry extra supplies of food and drink on your journey.
It is cheaper and if time is tight, having to stop for them can be unnecessary!
There is another reason.
You have taken too much time getting to your destination , because you have too many restrictions on your old sat nav, which takes you through B roads. Which is longer.
Also, the place you are going is vegan, and having my intolerance to most food and the chippy or food outlets are too far away. You need to eat!
The good news is that London is getting many millions to fix roads, that was originally earmarked for the Northern powerhouse! This is either fake news or STBO. Still if we get those planes in the air to Rwanda none of that will matter .....
The people spoke - It's just a pity our politicians have hearing problems. The good news is that London is getting many millions to fix roads, that was originally earmarked for the Northern powerhouse!

Thank you for the reminder Derek about filling the cars up with fuel. Normally it's the first thing I think of leading up to Christmas, but with everything this year, my brain's been totally focused about my eyes and some repair work I'm having done on the bungalow next week that I completely forgot it...Good morning all, an easy day in prospect with thoughts of filling up the cars somewhat before Christmas, to cover emergencies and calm my active brain after getting a more normal sleep pattern and getting the old me back.
Now remains, just getting a more sedate old man's demeanour.
God bless you all

Really pleased for you that your sleep pattern is going well. Thanks for the fuel reminder. Best check the tyre pressures also.Good morning all, an easy day in prospect with thoughts of filling up the cars somewhat before Christmas, to cover emergencies and calm my active brain after getting a more normal sleep pattern and getting the old me back.

No, the yellow colour is not OTT, because that is exactly what I see when I look out in the morning, in the skies around here, it gives a weird sort of glow to the sky....Good morning everyone on what sounds like a fairly quiet start here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.6 this am. Sourdough procured yesterday morning. Two loaves. One with beetroot, one with walnut, both sliced now and in the freezer. Also got some Reblochon from the deli in town so made a cauliflower Tartiflette for dinner with some Brussels sprouts quartered and roasted with lardons and onion. So, that’s the Brussels sprouts out of the way for another year. Art bit - just two colours but I think that the Raw Sienna was a bit OTT - “where are my sun glasses?” Anyhow, never mind. Maybe it’s on the Tropic of Capricorn for the Winter Solstice. Here we have cut down the neighbour’s apple tree to make a Yule Log, hung up some mistletoe and will be burning candles to celebrate light over darkness. All utterly mad but it fills the day and it’s not the weather for dancing around in the garden with nothing on but a coating of woad. Whatever you do today, I hope it is pain free and you get to laugh (good for your complexion I have been told). Time for some koffy - when is it not?
