What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Still baking! I've heard that some friends are coming to visit on Saturday. There are 5 children (ages from4 to 14) amongst them and 5 adults. I asked Neil to get a couple of pizza bases with the shopping, but that was another item gone missing with the shortage of supplies so I am making my own bases today, to get ahead, and will finish them on Saturday afternoon. The children are all very fond of pizza (usually shop made, so whether mine will fit the bill, who knows?) On Friday I will make a rice dish and a split pea or lentil dish for the adults - that's if Neil can get split peas or lentils on Thursday. Failing all else, there will be a pot of chicken and vegetable soup anyway. I have mince pies and mini Christmas puddings as well as some bread pudding - none of which will suit the younger kids so will have to make some cupcakes as well. Maybe Thursday or Friday for those. Looks like being a fairly busy week.
Thank you @Annb. The poor lad is in a football academy. He will miss all this season and then will have to fight for a place again next year.
Won't they make an allowance for injury?

The pastry was different, then the filling didn't taste like rich mincemeat and it was meagre...I spat it out!

I wouldn't mind one of your mince pies, I am sure they were delicious!

You are working too hard @Annb

I have just been asleep...now going to set up the trail cameras to record what happens with the beasties this Xmas Eve...

Make sure you get some rest x

Bit of a disaster with the pizza bases. Haven't made pizza in years and never before made bases alone. And I burned them, I used a new recipe which called for the oven to be as hot as it would go. Then forgot to get them out on time. Real burnt offerings! Try again tomorrow.

If I can remember from the academy, the club is not allowed to release a player who has sustained a long term injury. It is hard for them but the medical teams are usually top notch in pro football academies.

5.8 this morning.
A lovely relaxing day with absolutely no work done.
Relaxed, read, drank coffee and did some lovely dog walks around our village (11K steps).

Tomorrow will be another 'no work' day.
Daughter is at In-laws this year so our Christmas will be quiet - but actually that is exactly what we need after a very busy and hectic year.

On the second gammon of chrimbo, my dearest said to me, wot no white batch left?
So I'm off to the shop again!

Now back, windy but warm out there! Bikes picked and pressies under tree, grandkids are so excited and have took a piece of the said second gammon, good job it was quite a big pig!

Filling of one's face is now imminent, and I will raise a glass (Pepsi max) to each and every one of you lot!
My friends, have a joyous time and act your age!

I'm always 7 years old on Chrimbo day cos I'm lucky and get spoilt!

What is the point of having kids and grandkids?

Ho, ho, no merry Christmas!!!!!!
