What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Did I write this?
Sure you ain't got RH?
Never had inulin.
And of course lactose intolerance.
And my headmaster enjoyed dealing out punishment especially the corporal type to the peasents. Who had the temerity to gain admittance to his grammar school by passing the 11+ exam.

6.2 this woeful Wednesday.
Rain, rain, rain and more rain since last night through the night and morning, still a bit drizzly. Footie pitches are a bit of a morass, swamp, thought I saw a croc or an alli
Gulls are making a dreadful noise all morning.
And I got a bit damp doing my daily shop. Grrrrrr!
Bluebells, despite the weather are blooming, late darts are coming through now as well. Garden looking very busy and of course no chance on mowing the lawn. New project is coming on despite only a week on.
Will get a couple more to fill in morning when I take Mrs L and myself to vote for our mayor. He should be re-elected with an increased majority. He has done good work

Having a much quieter day today. After all the family time yesterday.
Mrs L is monging (can I say that?) on the couch, the occasional snore escaping amongst other noises.
Giving me a chance to catch up with chores and such.

Gotta finish my homework for my counselling.
Gotta watch footie tonight on tele.
Gotta get prepared for another busy day tomorrow.
Gotta find out how the **** I managed to do everything and work.
Gotta find out. When someone says....... Hope you get there.
Where there is.
And I will let you know, if I find out where there is!

My best wishes to you lot as always.

Tapioca pudding! Our school cooks made it with watered down milk. I could take the milk but not the tapioca. 2 of my intolerances are tapioca and arrowroot. Watered down milk is an abomination in a milk pudding. After all, the whole point of the pudding is the milk which preferably would be Jersey milk with some added double cream. But not tapioca.

Morning from California. 4.22 on Hump Day
morning. Breakfast = 2 large organic eggs omelet with red and green onions, mushrooms
‍made with cold pressed olive oil from Costco and half slice of sourdough bread. Black tea w/o cream and sugar. My routine breakfast. No reason for testing 2 hrs after meal, because it will be within non diabetic guidelines. I keep on reading and learning from the forum. My thanks to all members.

I am late to the party today.

Fbg this morning was 6.9

I was overtired yesterday...those blooming badgers...and went to sleep yesterday evening, but then was awake the rest of the night. Nothing would induce sleep.

I had to do some fridge shopping this morning. By the time I came back I was so tired I went to bed and have been sleeping catching up on sleep.

What happened yesterday, when I went out the kitchen door, I found the badgers had broken my fireguard. I have a very large metal fireguard, protecting some bins, and things which I keep things in them like the recycle bags et cetera, and all this is protected behind the fireguard from the badgers. This has worked no problem for 12 months. I also have bin bags full of junk from the garage that are waiting to be thrown out when there is room in the wheelie. No food or anything edible in them. But the badger/s broke the front of the fireguard, got in and ripped open the bin bags, and scattered the contents everywhere.

It took me the rest of yesterday to clean it up, repair the fireguard with wire. And then I found some bird netting. I never used it on my vegetable garden. But I decided it would be suitable to wrap the fireguard in, and over the tops of the bins. My theory being that it would be awkward/uncomfortable for the badger and his claws.

So, I was drop dead exhausted by last night, and no sleep was not good.

The badgers never touched that area last night, so maybe it worked. But it makes it inconvenient to get at my stuff.

Last night the badgers took the lid off my wormery. And had been trying to get that heavy upturned plant pot out of it, in order to get at the worms. The badgers had obviously tried very hard.

I need to protect my wormery better, but I haven't got any energy at all today. Just thought...I have some army camouflage netting...but where is it? I'm thinking the badger might not like the feel of that in his claws...

It's gone 3 pm. I need to sort that now. And replace the SD cards with fresh ones. And get my recycling bags filled. It is a pain having these stupid bags, they are not badger proof, and I cannot leave them out overnight round here. There is devastation in all the streets round here by the time the dustbin men come to collect the recycling in the morning. I have to make sure they are out by 6,30am to catch the wagon at 7 am. They should have had wheelies for recycling. They did in Liverpool where I lived 20 years ago.

And the wildlife nighttime videos. Here is footage from the night before last, and at the end you can definitely see 4 badgers, two badgers are eyes, but they can be seen going into the area of my kitchen passage, where the fireguard was broken and the bin bags opened. They are the culprits.

Nighttime wildlife video.
4 Badgers running through the night
42 secs

Creative, another person wearing a padded jacket, crossing the road.

Make what you can of the rest of your day....

I need a cuppa...with a little extra....

Thank you for sharing the sketch. If that was from today with such tiredness you need a double winner. Those badgers are a mixed blessing. They attract viewers to your videos but wreak havoc. I guess you should feel a sense of satisfaction that your garden is a wildlife haven and all you can eat buffet for so many but probably not when they mimic the Bullingdon Club.

Late afternoon all.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.2

Just got home from having minor surgery today, a side effect ov taking anti rejection drugs over many years. The drugs keep me and all transplant patients alive, but the side effects can be lethal especially in my case, Mrs J dropped me, me’s and myself at the hospital then went to a garden centre for lunch and a little shopping, her words not mine. Mrs J can empty the car boot, it’s full. Yes my wallet is now dead, deceased, is no more. A lot like Monty Pythons dead parrot sketch.

Yours, totally unemployable, now looking four employment in the porlorn hope ov resurrecting my wallet.

You would think that a written warning from the hospital, a fitness note would be issued for those like us, who need respite from those who would forcefully take advantageous egres of our trusting benevolence and stomp all over it.

You could play possum you know!
And worry about your purse tomorrow morning.
Hope you are feeling much better.

Mmhh ..
Minor surgery.
+ Lethal.
Does not compute

Glad it's you posting this so I know you're ok.

Unless of course it's one of those afterlife A.I. avatars ...mmhh

In which case... RiP my biker friend.

Thank you for all your wise counsel.
Got me though some dark moments
Massive respect .

And if I could just give condolences to you, Ma'am, Mrs Alf, the grieving widow

Not sure if Alf mentioned me ( I think he was a little embarrassed by our Bro-mance.. you know how he was about such love )

But he did offer me first dibs on his bike.
I only mention just in case that helps you establish who your dearly parted wanted having his treasured items.

Please do not hesitate to call upon me ,If I can be of any service going forward.

It's the least I can do to respect such a friends special gift of his bike to me.

Yours sincerely
With deepest condolences.
JJ.

No cows milk since very young.
So no school made .milk puddings.
I did once try fresh from a cow milk still warm. But it didn't like me.
I have tried other milk but nah!
I wouldn't know what tapioca tastes like, rice pudding and the like.
So I just don't miss them.

I hope all went smoothly and you allow yourself space in your busy schedule to recover as advised.

I have #7's foot scooter now that she has her pedal bike.
Aw bless...real progress for #7 right there

I had a foot scooter just after accident

Lauren was furious ..

I could barely walk or move safely, but I just needed that "mobility" for my self .

Not sure she'd ever understand.
But she does appreciate I've always had some sort of independent transport since she's known me

It's part of my DNA .

I got an an e-scooter after the foot one...yeah yeah, I know.,

But never use it now, since I got the E-Bike. The E-Bike was a real game changer.

i feel much safer on it.

I've made a promise to never put lauren through that moment again, so I can't tell her how close ebikes are now getting to mopeds & scooters.

If you can cycle ok, I'd seriously suggest a short ride in a rental one .

Like I said, a real game changer.

Good morning everyone on a bird chirping start to the excitement of the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.4 this am. Been away for a few days with family but rushed back last night as it’s the first garden bin day of the year here and new stickers have been issued to stick on said garden bins to let the orange clad cavalcade outriders know if you have subscribed to the newly introduced collection fee. Not really caught up but below is a photo of either @alf_Josiah ’s or @jjraak ’s first motorcycle circa 1916. Note the leather belt drive. Photo taken at the Black Country Museum - a bit like Beamish but with almost incomprehensible gibberish spoken with the odd barely recognisable English word randomly chucked in with very long, extendable vowel sounds. Art bit - been a bit busy so a sketch of a wall with a door embedded. Hope your day is pleasant, I shall of course drink fresh koffy and then await the arrival of The Girl In The Bubble (school holiday grandparent duties - what fun!).
