What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Very sorry to read about about your observer dying. Also it sounds as though he was a blood bike rider.
He must have been an all round good guy. Indirectly saving many riders lives by passing on his biking skills and also turning out at all hours and weathers to ferry blood and organs for transplant use to various hospitals. RIP
 
6.2 at 04.00 today. Another day of grottiness so I'm doing very little. Still surrounded by boxes and just booked the container for another month since there seems to be no sign of anyone coming to finish the heating system work (not much to do really, just one radiator to deliver and install and insulation in the loft). It's getting a tad irritating and my usual reasonable humour is deserting me. Probably because of the effects of these antibiotics.

Just received a very odd phone call. Our phone announces the name or number of the caller, if there is one available but when it rings, I find it difficult to hear what the voice is saying as it kind of barks the words, so it is no help to me. The main phone has a display screen but the little mobile extension that I carry with me, doesn't. So when the phone barked that there was a caller, I answered on my little extension phone although I was actually not far from the main one at the time. As I answered I saw the screen was saying "Call from Nuisance". The message was: "This call is in response to the call you made, phone us ...." at which point I cut the call off. A scam announcing itself as such? Odd indeed.

I am ridiculously stressed. Still don't know if I need to go to UK tonight ( with 6 hours to pack etc) or prepare for visitors tomorrow? Thursday?
Do I cancel the attendance for the annual lunch? Was going to make a cake, MrSlim would have to take it, but insufficient flour available. Popped to local shop - it's shut Aaargh.
Meanwhile a different lunch next week am being asked to choose from a menu for the wrong day and at twice the price. I want to cancel, but it was my choice of restaurant. Arghhhh again.
I do appreciate that these are all relatively small issues and I am probably overreacting. But arrhhh again.
Please can I go and hide in my greenhouse for the next week, preferably with a bottle of wine and one of water and a book.
I don't know what to do so am practically useless. Maybe I should pack - or should I clean the house? Go buy some flour? That will take at least an hour. Am probably too stressed to be safe driving. Argggghh

Is such a series fun for you, yourselves? @dunelm as @alf_Josiah says that observer sounds like an all round good man. @Annb hug for the continued grottiness and absent heating engineers. @Krystyna23040 the predictive text raised a chuckle here. Surreal experience earlier. Sat waiting for blood test listening to youngsters from the late 70s, early 80s being interviewed about computers. They felt computers would never be a big thing when we had a message and video from our door bell telling us we had a delivery. Video conversation with the delivery person (man) telling/directing them where to leave the package safely. IT one prognostications 0. Next few days forecast to be sunny here. Enjoy your Tuesday.
 
Thanks @alf_Josiah. As a fellow greaser you may be aware that to ride blood bikes you must hold an advanced riding qualification issued by either IAM or RoSPA so a good many blood bike riders up here will have benefited from his tutelage.
 
Oh dear. All I can say is what I do, which is to let people know what I have already arranged and that they are very welcome to fit around.

Spring cleaning for the clipboard chap.
The chores were done under Mrs L 's supervision as I had got her out of her pit, so to get her own back, it was ordering the help around. So it wouldn't have been FBG by the time Mrs L have me Fernando do it.
There could be good need on the shower , but I'm not holding my breath. We will see..

All that hard work and the sun was cracking the flags. It is still mid twenties degrees in my back garden, it has been beautiful. I managed to get Mrs L in the garden for a while, I was expecting her to catch fire, but it never occurred. The questions were irrelevant and out of touch, I had my reading to do, to relax, so of course Mrs L needed attention and more tea, with a nice piece of Maderia. I had a piece of gammon.

I managed to let Mrs L have an afternoon nap. A bit of peace.

Must go, need to eat soon before my 7pm restrictions on food.

Nighttime wildlife videos
The Badger family from last year - I found an old SD card down the side of the couch...
It was really lovely seeing them again, and those cute faces of the badger cubs...

Creative...man walking past the shops, he seemed to have quite short legs...a one line squiggle...

It is misty outside today...the air is very still, nothing moving, except for a pigeon who has crash landed into the vegetation...

Too warm last night. Window was open. I had 2 fans going, but the air was not cool enough for me. I need to get a humidifier going, or a mister. My eyes dried out too much, despite eye drops, and stuck together, and my throat was dry, and I was coughing a lot. I have Sjögren's Syndrome. What I will do if we get a proper heatwave, I don't know. I will have difficulties.

Pollen is definitely high today...I need a spaceman's helmet to adjust the air I am breathing...

Today I will be cleaning the humidifier and the misters with white vinegar and letting them air dry before tonight...

So, that is my day sorted...

Yes, that was funny - especially as predictive text did it twice. Very interesting interview with those youngsters from the late 70s.
