What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fbg 7.1

I was nibbling food late evening because I was painting until after midnight.
I could not remember whether to spray water first on the paper or after I had put the pigment on the paper. I tried both ways... hence far too much water on the paper, so I had to find a hairdryer. I have only just bought a hair dryer because of washing the stray cats. They are not allowed indoors until they have had their 'spa treatment' (which is not a very popular feature of the services I provide for the stray cats). I cannot let them go outside this weather until they are bone dry. A cat and a hairdryer does not go well together, but it is a necessity....

Just like it was a necessity last night to find the hairdryer to dry my painting...

Here is my first painting with the Brusho pigments. I did read after I had done it, that I should've used hot water in the spray bottle or very warm water.

It should be noted that I could not find any of my postcard sized pieces of plain white card and I have hundreds of them.... but I did manage to lay my hands on a package of 6 x 4 photographic paper.

So best get started while I was in the mood...

I found out that if you use water on photographic paper, you end up with the gooey mess. You cannot use a brush on it because the brush ends up in a gooey mess. However, you can use any implement at your disposal - credit card, ends of a pair of scissors, a pin, a Biro (but bear in mind it can never be used again as a Biro because it will mess it up completely but it is useful implement to draw with to get the white coming through the colour on the photographic paper)... and other ideas of your choice...

So this creative is my first attempt with the Brusho pigments... more attempts will come in the next few days...
I did have fun playing with this. You can see it is still wet...

That is it for today, so make the most of your day, and it is time for food for me...

6.8 this moist Monday.

Other than the wetness there is a distinct feel of winter, it is very cold.
gone have the shorts and t-shirt, back to the long John's and pjs.
And of course the fake furs and felt boots, for the coming snow!

Keep dry and safe

Not good is it....

Smashing. I like the way it has bled through the water and the scraping to make the branches - lovely

Back end of our north Aegean tour .

Rocked up for a few days at what we now see as our diamond find.

Hotel offers a spa pool, all the water jet types gadgets etc.

Lauren chose it as it might offer me benefits and it's close to an excellent proper thermal baths.

Upside was the pool in pic is gorgeous, and the hotel is excellent....but never busy when we book it....?

Most times it's just us two in the pool.
And the folks who run it makes sure we get a ground floor room by the pool to boot.

Not to everyones tastes maybe, but just relaxing under the 'waterfall' or in the spa, and resting injured muscles etc in the 'jet stream' mode, feels like a tiny bit of heaven .

A hug for the hands and disruption to your sleep @Annb

I so admire your patience and fortitude

I hope they do sort themselves asap for you .

A slight update on the pressure gloves your post pointed me towards

Tried for a day.
And tried once overnight .

Definitely could feel them having an affect for me.

But I think I might have the wrong tool for my needs, excellent as they were .

I think for now the wrist/thumb strapping offers the best solution.

Have to say thumb, despite the rigours of 'luggage' pushing & pulling, does feel so much better now I'm on holiday.

Not exactly pain free, but markedly reduced and much clearer it's work related or more accurately, work isn't helping.

Tough decisions Lay ahead I fear .

But as Lauren says, with annoying accuracy, is work more important than my health ?

Decisions, decisions

Best wishes you return to a level you find more comfortable.

I can't blame my work for my hands, although the carpel tunnel syndrome was diagnosed while I was still working but I've been retired for 15 years now so they should have recovered from that strain. Maybe that just left them vulnerable to whatever the problem is now. Glad to hear that your hands are feeling a bit better though.

That looks gorgeous and I'm delighted for you that the spa pool helps. Also pleased to read that the holiday is helping the hand. No one here is remotely jealous of sun and dry. warm weather, no not us.

Oh... So many rules in painting and drawing... I always throw away the rule book in every situation. But that's useful to know...
You have a good enough eye to know what works without reference to any rule book, and you come up with spectacular images just by your artistic instinct.

Haha. Always good to have your support .

And there's always someone's day of 'something ' tomorrow for me to be envious of .

Great result by the way
Ten bob looking on very dodgy ground ..

Boys at work all man U fans, but none born anywhere near Manchester...

Still it's been an entertaining season for me, enjoying their despair.
